Angmar 10-02-2007 05:27 PM

I have it downloaded, I shall listen later. I don't really know if I'm gonna like it or not. I mean, I really did not like The Cult it Alive but who knows.

Thor was getting bashed for expecting another ABINTS/TH.

Thor 10-02-2007 05:29 PM

Laugh it up, it's still a disgrace of an album.

rattlehead42147 10-02-2007 05:42 PM

this blog has some gay **** but i found inquisition and some other cool stuff on it.

that must be one of the gayest looking album artworks ive ever seen.

LifeInABox 10-02-2007 06:21 PM

Pure Black Energy.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 06:22 PM

So me and my buddy Erik's black metal project (that's mostly just for fun) might be doing a split this summer with some friends who are starting a project called Jew Dominator. It's gonna be awesome.

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 07:11 PM

Uh-oh, is Anton now in the hating-his-old-favorite-genre-phase?

Tbh, this rave/dance music better not replace black metal.

LifeInABox 10-02-2007 07:12 PM
Yeah, at first I was a bit hesitant about the vocals but now I enjoy them quite a bit. It's definitely a welcome break from the usual high pitched black metal shriek. Inquisition is probably my most random musical find ever.

EDIT: @Tojes Taake is alright, they get boring pretty quickly though...
Taake is meh.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:12 PM

 rave/dance music is so horrible.
Laugh it up, it's still a disgrace of an album.
nope

Angmar 10-02-2007 07:13 PM

What is with metalheads always turning away from metal these days? :(

NemesisDivina 10-02-2007 07:15 PM

Silenius is following in the footsteps of Beherit and Ulver

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:15 PM

people go through phases, and during those phases they overlisten one thing and get sick of it.

Angmar 10-02-2007 07:16 PM
people go through phases, and during those phases they overlisten one thing and get sick of it.
Thats why I try not to overlisten things, that way I hope not to get sick of them. It is just sad to see it happen to fellow metalheads :upset:

Jew Dominator? HILARIOUS!

a good test if something is good or not is if it does get old. theres a ton of songs i never get tired of that i've "overlistened" to.

More like jazz and classical and ambient tbh...
people go through phases, and during those phases they overlisten one thing and get sick of it.
I can assure you that beyond Burzum and Darkthrone I will listen to very little real black metal.

RiceMonster 10-02-2007 09:06 PM

I haven't listened to black metal in a while either. I listened to Mayhem like two weeks ago I think. That's about it.

Angmar 10-02-2007 09:08 PM

You still listen to Summoning don't you... :(

Stormrider 10-02-2007 09:11 PM
I can assure you that beyond Burzum and Darkthrone I will listen to very little real black metal.
Wait, so you don't see yourself coming back to it?

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 09:57 PM

I'm assuming your love for Summoning is still active.

Silenius 10-02-2007 09:59 PM

No not really, I don't see much in it anymore. Burzum is the band that has the emotional depth of the genre, and Darkthrone has the simplicity and that's really all I want to get out of it, the 100+ bands I deleted from my computer were just making the good bands worse by associating with them and giving the same stuff over and over. Anyway, I don't want an argument, you can think differently about this, I won't tell you not to because everyone should decide the music they like for themselves.

Summoning isn't black metal for me Austin, so yes I still listen to them though not AS much. Neither is Nazgul, whose new album I'm still excited about.

EDIT: BTW this is the last ever recorded song for Mirkwood -

http://www.freewebtown.com/ashencold/Mirkwood/Believe.mp3

New project may begin, with far less involvement from me and a very different style than before...

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 10:22 PM

I liked that a lot, especially the intro. Where's the sample from?

Silenius 10-02-2007 10:26 PM

Braveheart, in his cell right before he gets tortured and executed.

Angmar 10-02-2007 10:39 PM

Thats a very cool song. I think it would be cool to hear some ambient from you, kinda like your previous music just without any metal. Then again, you probably enjoy playing your instruments. :p

RiceMonster 10-02-2007 10:41 PM
the 100+ bands I deleted from my computer
Sounds like something I need to do.

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 10:41 PM

Yes, but with post-rock.

Burn.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-02-2007 10:43 PM

I still have all my metal. hard drive space isn't really an issue with me so I haven't bothered.

RiceMonster 10-02-2007 10:48 PM

Yeah, it's not really an issue with me either, but there's a bunch of boring bands that I listened to about once or twice even in my "metal days" (I still like metal, but hey). It just bugs me sometimes.

Silenius 10-02-2007 10:51 PM

Well you might just luck out then... ;)

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 10:55 PM

I'm downloading this Die Toten Kehren Wieder Mit Dem Wind you posted on BS, Anton. Haven't found good black metal in a long time, so I'm open to anything as of now.

Still like the album?

Silenius 10-02-2007 11:00 PM

I always respected the man behind DTKWMDT, and I think Stille and Blut should be worth your time.

Angmar 10-02-2007 11:12 PM

You have a blog Anton?

Tyler 10-02-2007 11:13 PM

I haven't been to Blooded Shore in forever.

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 11:14 PM

I think your account was deleted anyway, haha.
Thats why I try not to overlisten things, that way I hope not to get sick of them. It is just sad to see it happen to fellow metalheads :upset:
Those people are just fickle and get into the genre for their self indulgences. I mean to be honest I don't see how people just "get bored" of metal. There is sub genre upon sub genre of metal and even bands who do not fit into any genre. When someone gets tired of metal it just means that they have been overkilling the same genre over and over again and aren't willing to find other bands or other genres. It's easy to get tired of just plain black metal too when most bands imitate the creators instead of doing their own thing. Which is why there are about a 100 other sub genres. If you just listen to Black Metal and get tired of Metal in general than you are an idiot.

Mod on a forum.

Oh great Dash please shut the hell up. Something as basic as getting bored of bass/guitars/drums/vocals (and sometimes synth) instrumentation is enough to make metal be boring as a whole. AND THAT LAST SENTENCE COULD USE SOME COHERENCE.

And their are many kinds of instrumentations in metal, unless you are bored of distortion?

That name is very appetising.

But are they any good?

FatalEnergy 10-03-2007 03:01 AM

If you like Sarcofago and the like, yes they are awesome.
