Valhall 12-11-2007 08:25 PM

Christian music has gotten better since kids stopped making it all about thier god and started caring more about the music.

illpressure: Who cares? Say who it was for; the worst that could happen is that Dargon would come in here and flame you. Big deal.

illpressureurhinges1 12-11-2007 08:36 PM

Well it was As I Lay Dying, and $hit always gets started when someone says that they like AILD, because there are so many different opinions on them.

Valhall 12-11-2007 08:42 PM

So you're an AILD fan. Big deal. Not everyone has to like them, but that doesn't mean you can't like them and say so.

I personally am a fan of AILD, though they have thier gay moments.

TheSceneNinja 12-11-2007 09:09 PM

So anyone like

The Chariot

or

The Devil Wears Prada

?

i am the robots 12-11-2007 11:34 PM

The Chariot has some decent songs on album. They're pretty much terrible live.

If you like them, you should check out Botch, Architects, and This Runs Through.

Similar style, a lot better.

Are you serious? They are insane live.

i am the robots 12-11-2007 11:43 PM

I thought they were pretty much a sloppy mess when I saw them.

And Josh's vocals sounded terrible.

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 01:49 PM

I didn't think so. It was also hard to tell because I was too busy trying to ward off a bunch of kids who were trying to push past me to get to the front row. But personally, I thought they were amazing. Josh's vocals were kinda weak, but as a whole, they sounded great.

Shameful Essence 12-12-2007 02:32 PM

I definitely agree with that....
His vox were a little weak.....but anything to sound different than all these other bands...haha

Dood, freakin' TDWP is soooooo flippin' awesome....
and meeting the guys at C-Stone was even better....
Plagues has got to be one of the best albums that came out this year, Christian wise...
They got a lot more emotional in their songs too.....which calls for more powerful moments
Not to mention, their breakdowns are pretty tight.....^_^

i am the robots 12-12-2007 02:36 PM

I dunno if I'd say that The Chariot sounds different than any other band. :/

are you female perchance?

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 03:25 PM

Well who else sounds like them?

i am the robots 12-12-2007 03:26 PM

Every other band that does the OUR SONGS ARE BASICALLY JUST BREAKDOWNS WITH A LOT OF DIMINISHED CHORDS thing.

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 04:23 PM

Ok. If you say so.

i am the robots 12-12-2007 04:28 PM

Listen to Botch

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 04:32 PM

I have. I think they sound alot more like Norma Jean than they do The Chariot.

Neoteric 12-12-2007 04:37 PM

That's because Norma Jean has tried to emulate Botch (I'm not just saying this, they admit it themselves).

Eliminator 12-12-2007 04:40 PM

no way dude norma jean scream way harder for jesus than those botch fags

i am the robots 12-12-2007 04:41 PM
I have. I think they sound alot more like Norma Jean than they do The Chariot.
The Chariot is still very similar to both bands.

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 04:42 PM

Yah I guess. That might have something to do with the fact that The Chariot's singer is the old Norma Jean singer.

i am the robots 12-12-2007 04:52 PM

Don't forget the bassist.

And Josh had a lot to do with the songwriting process for early Norma Jean, and I'm pretty sure he has a lot to do with The Chariot's as well.

illpressureurhinges1 12-12-2007 05:36 PM

Yah. I guess your right. I was just listening to it more and I see better what you mean. I stand corrected.

Dimmu Burger 12-12-2007 09:54 PM

I enjoy the Chariot from time to time. He has some effects on his voice on the albums though, so I'm sure he is gonna sound odd at shows.

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 03:18 PM
Listen to Botch
We Are the Romans is an insane CD.

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 03:20 PM
Actually WoW is a christian music compilation. The Christian equivalent to NOW. lol
WoW came out first.

Gonads 12-13-2007 03:21 PM

These are my christian lyrics

Holy Jesus our father I say
Praise ol Jesus for giving us grain
I say ol Jesus ol baby it's true
You love me and I love you

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 03:27 PM

People like you slay me.

I think The Chariot can put on one heck of a show.
Their first CD sounds a lot less generic than their second, but I love them both.

When I saw them, they were pretty intense. I enjoyed it.

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 04:23 PM

Me too.

I still have to see Between the Buried and Me.
I've seen so many bands, but I've yet to see my favorite.
Pretty sad.

illpressureurhinges1 12-13-2007 04:31 PM

I've seen my favorite twice and im going to see them again soon.

I forgot Common Yet Forbidden and War of the Ages.

DJTeeLay 12-13-2007 04:43 PM

I love those bands.

(Besides one. I really dislike one of them. The one below Emery. Ew.)

illpressureurhinges1 12-13-2007 04:47 PM

They are all pretty good. Although I've never listen to FF5 or MWY.

Yeah, I saw them this summer and they were amazing.

Fail? FF5 is original, a breath of fresh air. Its always needed.

jrowa001 12-13-2007 06:03 PM

WoA are good because their guitarists can actually play a technical riff and skilled solos. most hardcore/metalcore bands cant do that

i am the robots 12-13-2007 06:27 PM

 I'm pretty sure hardcore and metalcore are genres that are meant to be fast paced and raw, not technical, therefore: stfu.

McP3000 12-13-2007 06:39 PM
 I'm pretty sure hardcore and metalcore are genres that are meant to be fast paced and raw, not technical, therefore: stfu.
I don't think it really matters as long as they make good music

illpressureurhinges1 12-13-2007 06:57 PM

Who cares whether it's technical or not. As long as it sounds good, it shouldn't matter what the name of the band is, what religion they are, or if they sound like other bands.
