they did in that movie, i just found them extremely not funny
|
Apparently subliminal messaging is bad, pah.
|
maybe you're just hard to please
there are certain things you can do to enhance your appreciation of humour, you know. It helps if you know that you're going to be seeing a boring movie |
o, i knew i wasnt going to enjoy the movie, but i always try to make the best of the situation. Having melted non-parels on me doesnt help it. If you saw the movie, i think you'd agree
|
well if you're taking kids getting high before you go is prolly not an option, but that's your fault for letting yourself get stuck in a position of responsibility
I'm prolly not going to end up seeing that until one of my little brothers rents it |
I haven't seen I spit on your Grave.
Seemed to me like a film that got cult following just because it was put on the video nasties list in the 80's.
Thats pretty much it. A shy woman gets raped three or four times by a group of men one afternoon, then it turns into a really B-grade killing fest where she somehow turns into a smooth talking manipulating harlet who takes out revenge. Its hard to pin down whether it glorifies sex and violence or is a social commentary on rape hence the controversy. Looks pretty dated these days though. |
nah, you're right, i took the responsible approach.

That sounds pretty lame really, regardless of whether is a social commentry or a killfest. |
is portugal going to kill MXico or what?
|

sounds sort of like Kill Bill tbh Tarantino rules though |
Hahaha, damn you irony edit!
Kurrpt, get bent. All you ever do is create flame wars.
 |
Tarantino rules though
 That man is more overated than religion itself. |
Doesn't change the fact that he makes awesome movies
Led Zep may be overrated, but they did some awesome stuff |
Tarantino's early stuff deserved the hype.
Nowdays he's attaching his name to films and stuff, he's not as brill. |
Reservoir dogs and Pulp fiction both pwn
I didn't really like hostel though and that whole sin city bit where he "guest directed a scene"? |
 That man is more overated than religion itself.
Good statement |
Doesn't change the fact that he makes awesome movies
omg non linear narrative His films are good, but I don't think he's spectacular, at all. |
He didn't direct Hostel, just attached his name to it.
The scene in Sin City was the one where benicio deltorro (sp to the max) is speaking after he's dead. I liked his episde of CSI, mind. |
Actually that scene was pretty creepy
but I liked the bit just after where the police officer stops him with the dead guy in the front seat and he tells him he's "partied too hard" or something |
That sounds pretty lame really, regardless of whether is a social commentry or a killfest.
It is. It got banned several times and its major selling point on the DVD cover is just that, the graphics making it look intensely controversial and evil. The film itself is fairly rubbish though.
sounds sort of like Kill Bill tbh, Tarantino rules though
Yeah i felt echoes of Kill Bill whilst watching it, but minus the production values, acting ability and multiple sets. |
 That man is more overated than religion itself.
Yep. The fact he rips off scenes from other films constantly whether it is a homage or not leads to a lot of criticism of unoriginality. Thats not to say i don't enjoy the movies he makes and is associated with. Killing Zoe is an underrated one i don't hear much about. |
batteries in my tango megaphone just died...who else owns one?
|
I never liked Tarrantino films, always seemed too "We'll do this bit not because it's good, but because it's stupid, and different"
|
well that's your opinion.
overturned I love megaphones and I want one |
Tarrantino films seem to make killing stylish.
|
well that's your opinion.
overturned I love megaphones and I want one
I know it is. I never got a tango megaphone :( |
As soon as I find out what's going on with this pickup, I'm done.
|
What's the difference between a tango megaphone and a normal one?
does having it your possesion give you +5 dancing or something? either way megaphones are fun to play with and it's fun to be a real dick with one if your in charge of something and goats why were you banned? |
Anyone watching coach trip?
|
Rep whoring. Go back to page 15 or so >_>
|
i prefer to piss people off with airhorns rather than megaphones. A combination of the two pwns all though.
|
I'm watching coach trip, but only cos it's on.
/plays mandolin |
I'm watching coach trip, but only cos it's on.
/plays mandolin
its an alright show also getting sick from eating m&m's |
Hostel was a let down. It was supposed to contain all sorts of brutal shocking violence and be incredibly disturbing, and I found it bland and tame.
The violence was all a bit rubbish having watched Irreversible and Ichi the Killer, and the only reason it seemed to be set where it was was to avoid having to explain just how unlikely the setup of the film was. Personally, I found it difficult to care about the characters since there was no real context to them. They were all entirely one-dimensional. The same as the countless faceless guards killed in Bond films that are never mentioned, who gives a rat's ***? More disturbing, yet less notorious, I've always enjoyed Cube. The characters are deliberately given as little background as possible so that we see them fresh, it has purpose more than Hostel just not being clever. The characters are driven over the edge in the film, and it has one of the best endings ever. Also, Portugal 1 - 0 Mexico. Right finish an' all. |
yea the only thing i enjoyed about hostel was the boobs
|
Overturned, why are you being me?
|
daytime tv to me seems to suck in general
what's with the new account eh? your not banned and you still have silly beach turtles, don't you? oh it's overturned? wtf? |
its fun to pretend
|
|
Cube is an awesome film.
Cube zero sucks. I havn't seen Cube II. I still havn't seen Hostel. |
