Haha, classic.

Brain Toad 11-13-2005 02:41 AM

Holy S'hit has become one of my favourite AM! songs now.

Angry Balled Fists! 11-13-2005 06:09 AM

I think that Even at our worst... could be a huge song, really incredible it it was a 4 or 5 minute song, it seems too short.

Holy Sh'it is amazing too.

rawdog 11-14-2005 03:17 AM

Oh wow, its great to be back. I got banned for spamming that I don't even remember doing, anyway, I found out when Against Me! are coming out to Australia, sooo happy.

Like their music. Also like his voice, sounds like his really confinced of himself for some reason.

Flagjacket 11-14-2005 03:24 PM

Am I the only one who thinks that Pretty Girls and the COndoleeza song are the best on SFAFC?

Pretty Girls is one of my favorites.

I just had the urge to listen to SFAFC, and I liked it a lot.

Oh OK. Well, thanks for the info.

Borkola 11-15-2005 04:47 PM

Can anyone give me a link to a DL of the Cavalier Eternal 7"?

Sid 11-15-2005 11:06 PM

So wait, can AM! still play Politics of Starving, even though their video is on MTV?

I think they should, Irony is in.

Graffito 11-15-2005 11:17 PM

just wondering, when AM! released that Reinventing Axl Rose, did he do anything about that? because i know Axl has had a lot of issues whilst working on his "Chinese Democracy", and apparently won't give anyone the rights to any of his songs, i.e. he won't let movies use GNR songs in the soundtrack. apparently he did that to keep it "unique". so yeah did he have anything to say about AM! releasing an album and song with his name on it?

Sid 11-15-2005 11:47 PM

You can't copyright a person's name, I'm pretty sure. Otherwise, we'd run out of names, wouldn't we? I'm sure tons of people have my name out there.

Axel Rose is no different, no matter how famous he is.

obese_breasts 11-15-2005 11:51 PM

If you watch their DVD one of the people from boysetsfire (i think) said that he heard Axl got a copy of RAR and was pissed so he made voodoo dolls of Against Me!

Sid 11-15-2005 11:53 PM

Strike chords, they cut like a knife.

Brain Toad 11-15-2005 11:53 PM

Axl could've copyrighted his name as its a stage name.

I'm listening to RAR right now, I think it's the first time I've listened to it as a complete album.

Sid 11-15-2005 11:56 PM

And means so much more than a t shirt or ticket stub they'd stop at nothing short of massacre.

TakeWarning 11-16-2005 07:50 AM

And everyone would leave with the memory there was no place else in the world, this is where they always belong.

(I think)

Bastard. I reeeeeally wanna see them.

OI! to the World! 11-17-2005 03:03 PM

Reinventing Axle Rose may have been a awesome album but **** Against Me!. I'm sorry to say this because I know most people on this forum like them. But I just don't understand Anarchists that are owned by the Fox Network (myspece is owned by Fox) and have 2,000 dollar tour guarantees. Look back at some of the lyrics on Reinvinting..... Do you think they realize that they're hypocrites?

Sid 11-17-2005 03:11 PM

Scroll back to the beginning of this thread, this conversation has already been done. A lot of bands change their ideas and AM! has changed theirs, like:
So wait, can AM! still play Politics of Starving, even though their video is on MTV?
They can't very well have a line like "to MTV, f'uck you" and have their music on MTV. That would be blatant hypocrisy to say they still believe in the same things.

Either way, I disliked the new album, and not because of any of the "omg sellouts" crap, that's just childish. I just plain didn't like the music.

Angry Balled Fists! 11-17-2005 03:34 PM

I like it, has some really good songs on.

Sid 11-17-2005 03:44 PM

Yeah, I'm just a really big fan of folk, and AM! had less of that influence on the new album. Also lyrics are important to me, and some songs i found to be poor in those regards. Not extremely bad, just not the previous quality of songwriting.

But, they can't all be gems can they? Some of the songs on the new one are well written.

rawdog 11-18-2005 02:12 AM
Either way, I disliked the new album, and not because of any of the "omg sellouts" crap, that's just childish. I just plain didn't like the music.
123. The music isn't as good, either are the lyrics. There a few songs I like, like Even at our worst, SFAFC amongst others.

TakeWarning 11-18-2005 03:37 AM

SFAFC is a good album, but I don't really like the sound (less influenced by folk, and more influenced by rock)

Henrik 11-18-2005 08:03 AM

I really have no idea what makes a song folk. Which Against me! songs would you consider folk?

Angry Balled Fists! 11-18-2005 08:03 AM

Same, i like the folk in the old albums, SFAFC was lacking there.
