I had a crappy LP-100 as my first guitar, the neck was way too thick for metal. I love my KE-3, especially with a nice EMG-85 in the bridge. I decided to go Alexi style and have just 1 pickup, I love the sound of using just a bridge pickup. The EMG really makes a difference, my rythym guitarist has a WRXT Warrior and it is the same exact thing with a different body, and the stock pickup just doesn't live up to the EMG 85.

Shattered_Future 06-28-2005 02:47 PM
Wow, that's great!
Yea...however, i do want to get a new, more metal oriented guitar...

I was thinking a Flying V or a 7 string...all way out of my price range though. I got like 20 bucks, and thats used for CD funds.

Mr. Squiggles 06-28-2005 02:47 PM

This is the guitar I want. My godamn guitar just started shocking the hell out of me. It hurts like a motherfuckerer.

I like the tone i can get with my Squier Fat Strat...its got a really nice distorted tone when you downtune it.

Plus, the guitar is only about $150

I love my Ibanez SZ320. It a great guitar for the price (about $375-$400). It has nice tone and a nice balance and feel. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Taste_My_Scythe 06-28-2005 03:00 PM

So did everyone enjoy the Wacken clip?

IheartSP 06-28-2005 03:01 PM

Yeah but it was missing like the last minute of the song. Also it was hard to hear Alexi.

Mr. Squiggles 06-28-2005 03:02 PM

 Have I seen the music video to Sixpounder. Of course I have! I've seen all their videos. Multiple times! Sixpounder isn't my favorite though; I love Trashed. Have you seen Trashed in Helsinki?

Dude, you have to come over sometime and watch it. It doesn't work on the computer, it's just the enhanced part of the Trashed, Lost and Strungout EP. It has the video for Trashed and then this side movie the band made called Trashed in Helsinki. Them going around Helsinki, getting hammered, playing their music and doing all around funny stuff.

"My name is.......black....death...."

Alexi has a hard time opening this can of spray paint to trash their hotel room. He finally gets it open and turns it to spray it on the wall. That's when he sprays himself in the eye because he was holding it the wrong way, and goes running off clutching his face. (Now doesn't that sound like something I would do? lmfao)

"what happened?"
"dude, he fuckin' spray painted his eye!"

yeah i got an ibanez GRX40 (first guitar) and it wasa nice guitar recomended for any begginers.

Shattered_Future 06-28-2005 07:49 PM

First guitar: Yamaha acoustic

Second guitar: Squier fat strat (still use it)

Third guitar: Heritage Les Paul

Love em all to death...play them all everyday.

Anyway...just got back with my dad from a guitar store he was doing a clinic at. Him, bassist, and drummer played a short set (5 songs), pretty much brought the house down...then we had an hour or so to look around. I found a Flying V, and i got to TOUCH IT! And then play it. It was sweeetness in wooden form...

Nice. I can't wait to see it.

Who in here thinks that Something Wild is CoB's best album? I sure do.

I love Something Wild, but I'd have to say that my favorite album has to be Follow the Reaper. My first Bodom album too! :thumb:

That was my first Bodom album as well, but it just didn't have the same impact on me as Something Wild did.

Who in here believes that HCDR was Cob's sellout album? I think whoever says that is stupid.

By impact do you mean suprise? Once i heard the first 4 tracks especially Red Light, Pt 2 i was in love and suprised about how they wrote this stuff.

Whoever thinks any band has sold is probably retarded

Fuck yeah! :chug: You should join our HateCrew. (EvenStillRix took up on it...lol)

I don't think Children of Bodom sold out at all. I just think they changed a little bit; it couldn't be helped. I love Hate Crew Deathroll. I think it's just different than the other albums.

I love your avatar by the way! \m/

Fave song off of Something Wild: Touch Like Angel Of Death

That first scream where the whole band comes in...brilliant.

*Rest of band*

One of my favorite songs from that album...

EDIT: Follow The Reaper was MY first Bodom album too...i bought it without any idea of how the band sounded. I put it in, and was just blown away...the music on that album is just top notch.

 My favorite song from that album too! Followed closely by Lil' Bloodred Riding Hood. The first time I heard the chorus; *jawdrop*. Seriously...it blew me away.

Same with Follow the Reaper; I love Children of Decadence. Such an awesome song with an awesome melody.
