Why is it crappy?

bad production. the drums are perfect, it just sounds bad, as in the way i recorded it

uhh....karoake machine. cant afford a recording thingy. no mixer either :upset:

You're going to use a friend's recording stuff, though, right?

Download audacity and buy a 16 dollar computer mic at radio shack? Thats what I use. :D

My stepdad has all of their CD's and i never really paid much attention to them, and then today i picked um up and listened to all of em and i think they are now one of my favorite bands... im just pissed that they broke up before i got into them

Vietnow or Killing In The Name would be easiest guitar wise methinks.

I recorded the 1st half of KitN today. Everything up until the solo, to be exact. It was a good 1st take, but the tone was wayyyy off, so it'll take me a while to tinker with that. Who's gonna do the guitar on Vietnow?

I was planning to. Anyway I won't be on for a while. Not till like 9 (CST). I pan recording tomorrow or Friday. IT WILL BE DONE BY SATURDAY.

So who is planning on doing the other instruments for Vietnow?

I'm pretty much ready to do the bass, although I'm going to find it extremely hard to do justice to Tim's distortion/tone with my Squire and Digitech BP200. I'll do bass for any song wanted, but if anyone else wants a shot that cool. :cool:

im drumming on every song, and im fixing up BoP right now, so it should be up and running maybe by tonight

here's a question. On the last chorus of Vietnow theres two parts the really fast '9' note and the reg. chorus, should I do both?

I think the only songs in standard are down rodeo and without a face, the rest are drop d. I'm not 100% sure about that though.

Yeah go ahead, I just want BoP for the bass solo :D. I was going to do kitno but I don't really care to much so if you want it you can have it. Long as you have distortion :D

Yeah, I've got overdrive. It will sound pretty good, I've got a tone that sounds kind of close to Timmy C's overdrive.

I want drums and bass down before I start recording KitN, if that's otay with you guys.

Who's doing what on Vietnow again? I'd like the drum part (if possible) so I can listen to it while recording, but if I can't whatever. I got everything lined up and I will edit my part the best I can, but it won't be as good quality as I wanted because my jack broke so I have to do the recording through my mic. But, eh, thats life.
