Reverse The Curse by Higher Zenith. Good Stuff.

Tapeworm 08-23-2004 04:57 AM
Just curious.. What the heck happened to the Tapeworm(project)??? Haven't heard of them since "Vacant"(and that one was live,right?)..Speaking of live..I thought A Perfect Circle's cover of The Cure's "Love Song"(entitled "Diary Of A Madman", I'm sure most of you know about it) was great, it's a shame they didn't record it..I only had the live version:(
The Tapeworm project "disbanded". They were never really a proper band, but the songs that they had worked on were deleted by Trent, as he saw not much promise in them. He says that he and Maynard will work together again one day. The song "Vacant" was performed by APC.

My title of that song is "Diary of a Lovesong", as the verses are from Ozzy's "Diary of a Madman" and the chorus from "Lovesong". Cool stuff though, they wouldn't record covers. They tend to be incredibly serious in the studio, and very lighthearted on the stage.

I've been listening to Interpol a lot recently, in eager anticipation of their new album (anyone heard their new song 'slow hands' - brilliant).

Also been listening to The White Stripes in readiness for the Leeds festival.

Others that have been on rotation include:

The Grey Album - DJ Dangermouse
The Futureheads - The Futureheads
Com Lag 2+2=5 - Radiohead
Some Frank Sinatra compilations
05/03 - 22-20s
The Lost Riots - Hope of The States
BRMC - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (an album you can always go back to :p )
And of course all the Beastie Boys albums i own :D

Thanks for clearing things up. I used to burn cd's from my classmate the past few years, and sometimes get mixed up with song titles and stuff and I just recently began using the internet*regularly* a few months ago(the cons of being poor..), it's a hard life.:p I wish APC could do an album full of covers, that'd be awesome(but as you said, they probably won't).

Anyone here from Ontario? I've been wanting to buy Denali-The Instinct for some time now, I can't find it anywhere.

The Pixies' 'Trompe Le Monde' has caught my attention lately...I like it better than Surfer Rosa.

Tapeworm 08-25-2004 04:53 AM

Nice ones, Ihate.

I've been listening to Dredg's "El Eielo", and my two Cog EPs. Very similar bands.

Tomahawk 08-25-2004 08:14 AM

The flavour of the day is Smashing Pumpkins.

I've also been partaking in a bit of the ol' Jeff Buckley, and I'm liking Gyroscope right now.

OrbDragon 08-26-2004 04:07 PM

^^^
Motorpsycho might just be a band you'd like, Nach...they are from Norway. Very experimental at times, definately influenced by Floyd, but also by Sonic Youth and The Cure. It's a really schizophrenic band...they can be really mellow...but also really fncked up and chaotic too. Their best album is called "Timothy's Monster".

Well_Respected_Man 08-26-2004 10:15 PM

I just listened to Fiery Furnaces for the first time. Their new album BlueBerry Boat has high ratings from critics but a quick glance at amazon shows a mixed respone. It'a love it or hate it album. I personally love the cool sounds and complex structures. I think I will really like this band

KazooVirtuoso 08-26-2004 10:22 PM

I've been diggin' the songs I've downloaded by Hot Club of Cowtown, but I'm having a hell of a time finding any more songs.

They're neat, sort of an old-school swing/jazz/country kind of thing. I'm diggin' the groovy guitar style.
