Haha, I just saw a Beavis and Butthead episode where they make fun of Exodus' Thorn in mY side Video clip. It has one guy arguing with his dad and this is what they say -

Beavis - Aw, daddy doesn't understand me aww
Butthead - yeah really, woman
Hehe, huh huh
Butthead - It must really suck having a dad that's still around after you're born
Beavis - Yeah, I wonder what it's like. This guy has a cool dad though
Butthead - Yeah, too bad he's got a wuss for a son.

Flotsam And Jetsam 2-part-epics

Iron Maiden's 7th son of a 7th son was a "concept" album (I think that's what they call them) where all of the songs tell one story, and each song tells a different part. Well I think that flotsam and jetsam did the same thing! On their album DFTD, the title track was followed by another track called metalshock. Both are very long epic thrashers. DFTD is about Satan making all the countries blow each other up wiht nukes:

"Belial begins his scheming, treacherous plan,
Turns brother on brother, toys with the leaders of man.
He creates before them illusions of broken truce,
A wicked plot of deception, that commanders cannot refuse.
In a short time he has control,
USA, Russia, chaos from pole to pole.
Mankind's worst nightmare, it's too late to pray,
Hold tight and take your last breath,
The missiles are on their way...DOOMSDAY!

All over the earth the horror begins,
This time there's no second chance.
Firebombs...deathly flash, vapors spread so fast,
In a moment the world is ash."

Now look at the opening lyrics to metalshock:

"The end of time has come, the day after.
Everything is black, the world is over.
There are no trees, all life has crumbled.
Cities tumbled down, man's self-destruction."

It looks like Metalshock picks up where DFTD left off! Anyways I just noticed that and I thought it was pretty cool, you can tell that to all these mallcore fags who complain that real metal doesn't have good lyrics. When was the last time Linkin Park did a 16-minute-long 2-part epic about the end of world?

True Metal Forever! \m/  \m/

 Ahh, that show was great. Played some good videos sometimes too.

sacrifice93.2 02-24-2004 02:21 PM

You have no right to call me a poser! You wouldn't know what metal was if I hit you in the head with my B.C. Rich Warlock guitar you cocksucking, cum-guzzling whore!

sacrifice93.2 02-24-2004 02:24 PM
It's required for BUY! :p

Support the fleeting metal market by purchasing classic albums. :D
If I actually had money I would buy it, and my suggestions thread dissapeared after one day. ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!

I never actually said it, but if you're going to assume like that...

Don't doubt my "metal knowledge" young one.

:amaze:
If you have the knowledge.. show us!

Seriously, this is kind of a dumb argument..
Lets all just get along, drink some beer, and listen to some metal.

LordDargon 02-24-2004 03:22 PM

You turds are ignoring my posts!

And Sacrifice he didn't actually say you were poser... don't get yourself banned again

Corporal Compendia 02-24-2004 03:23 PM

Of course it's a dumb argument... I love dumb arguments...and for all he knows, I could have just pointed out his misspelling of the word poseur.

I have been sharing...and I will continue to share with you thrashers.

With that said, are there any Slaughter fans here? Any?

INCINERATOR!

LordDargon 02-24-2004 03:24 PM

^^ Nope, what are they? thrash? death?

Corporal Compendia 02-24-2004 03:28 PM

Thrash and Death I suppose. Elements of both.
Chuck Schuldiner was even in the band for a brief period of time.
Very simple, but fast, catchy and aggressive! Their releases are hard very hard to find now, but I recommend anything you can find by them... Having that gay Glam Slaughter around certainly doesn't make things easy either.

LordDargon 02-24-2004 03:30 PM

^^ Oh I will have to avoid them them... what is a good GOOD Slaughter album?

Corporal Compendia 02-24-2004 03:35 PM

Surrender or Die, Strappado, or the Not Dead Yet/Paranormal release.
That's all they had really...

Unlike the Glam band that stole the name, this Slaughter lived up to their name...

LordDargon 02-24-2004 03:43 PM

What is a good fast Metal Church song?
I've been meaning to check 'em out

Corporal Compendia 02-24-2004 03:46 PM

Try to find the song 'Beyond the Black' on the self titled album.

Jondur 02-25-2004 03:42 AM

I had a bad 'wrong' Slaughter experience once. I still feel soiled. You expect some savage thrashy death and you get extreme amounts of gayness. Ughh!

Any Manilla Road fans?

k'! 02-25-2004 06:25 AM
You have no right to call me a poser! You wouldn't know what metal was if I hit you in the head with my B.C. Rich Warlock guitar you cocksucking, cum-guzzling whore!
Dude, ditch the B.C. Rich guitars. I hate them goddammit. I would say posers play with guitars like that. NOw get a REAL metal guitar, a Jackson, a Gibson or a ESP.

JMetallica 02-25-2004 07:08 AM

Ok, all arguments and the fact that manilla road are tops :thumb: ...

I just got back from a gig with Black Reign and Dark Order, two australian thrash bands and i have to say that it was.... ****ING AWESOME!!! The ears are ringing, the head is falling off the neck, the adrenalin and alcohol are pumping! **** YEAH!

There were like 10 people on the floor, half of which were from the first band. Was awesome just ****ing mucking around with the musicians that just played. **** yeah. \m/. Oh, and fantastic THRASH METAL as well! \m/

JMetallica 02-25-2004 07:10 AM

Oh, the first guitarist had a bc rich and short hair, the second guy had a Jackson something or other and a metal rules t-shirt... Go figure who the poser was! :p

Anyway, I've just obtained $100.....anyone wanna make any CD suggestions for me. I may have it if its in the Thrash Genre mind you, but try it out.

LordDargon 02-25-2004 09:39 AM

^ Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines is good if you want something out of thrash.

I'd kill the first guy, take his guitar and join the band with the other guy.
^ Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines is good if you want something out of thrash.
Nile? Aren't they Death?

Jondur 02-25-2004 10:31 AM

What sort of stuff are you after? Thrash, Death, doom, black?

Metallica857 02-25-2004 11:09 AM

I'll join. Titans of Thrash! (MoP)

LordDargon 02-25-2004 11:27 AM
Nile? Aren't they Death?
Yes that is what I meant "something out of thrash", something that is not in the thrash genre. Looks like I confused some people

edit: and to the dude that posted above me: Dark Angel - Darkness Descends is a required listen before you can join!

sacrifice93.2 02-25-2004 01:08 PM

*Laying back and chilling*
Didn't Kerry King play a B.C. Rich Warlock like mine at one point or another? Anyway, does anyone know if Anthrax is touring in the states this summer? I already looked on their site, and there isn't any dates set yet. I wanna go see them live again!

sacrifice93.2 02-25-2004 01:18 PM

You need to put the MX before Titans of Thrash. Read the beginning of the thread.
Anyway, I need a few suggestions of CD's as well. I still have over 100 dollars with my tax return cash, so does anyone know anything in the thrash genre I should pick up? Here's my thrash collection:
Metallica: All of their stuff
Megadeth: Same
Anthrax: Same
Slayer: Reign in Blood, Show No Mercy, Diabolus in Musica, God Hates us All
Testament: Practice What You Preach
Exodus: Bonded by Blood

LordDargon 02-25-2004 01:20 PM

Gotta love them king-sized "ahums"

lol did you like the album Met857?

Metallica857 02-25-2004 01:20 PM

My thrash collection: (Hey, f*** off, I'm a beginner)
Metallica-...And Justice For All
Metallica-Master of Puppets

(Yes, I did like it)

sacrifice93.2 02-25-2004 01:28 PM

Hey Dargon, who do you prefer, Al Pitrelli or Marty Friedman?

Girl-Playing-Bass 02-25-2004 01:53 PM

I do my best

Metallica857, the only thrash albums you own are MOP and AJFA? Not much... to be honest.

Ve Das 02-25-2004 02:18 PM

Sodom-Persecution Mania

Corporal Compendia 02-25-2004 04:14 PM
I don't want any more black metal. Immortal is enough for me.
As to further prove my question.

Sodom - Persecution Mania
Sadus - Chemical Exposure
