I have yet to land Scum. I've heard it's just as good.

AA-12 05-19-2007 10:24 PM

For the year it came out, it's unbelievable. It would be flawless if good old Barney was on vocals. I still wish they'd re-record.

Invicta_Veritas 05-19-2007 10:28 PM

Nah, I hate it when bands rerecord all thier sh*t just because they have a different singer. That's one of the things that KsE pissed me off so badly with....

AA-12 05-19-2007 10:29 PM

Yeah but the his vocals like I said before are amazing, and the album's vocals are very mediocre.

Invicta_Veritas 05-19-2007 10:29 PM

The old singer suck that bad, eh?

AA-12 05-19-2007 10:30 PM

He's not bad, just boring.

Invicta_Veritas 05-19-2007 10:31 PM

Oh. Yea, Barney's vox are some of the most interesting on the planet. Usually dm/grind/bm vox get monotonous, but he makes it like, I dunno, fun to listen to.

AA-12 05-19-2007 10:32 PM

They're just flat out evil. I'm assuming he layers them, but i'm not sure. That really full sound is great.

Invicta_Veritas 05-19-2007 10:34 PM

Doesn't sound layered to me, I mean, not any more than a normal band does in the studio (a little bit is the norm these days)....

Of course, I listen to waay to much VR, Deicide, and Behemoth to recognize layering less than 34 gazillion tracks anymore haha.

AA-12 05-19-2007 10:35 PM

Maybe not layered, but some effect. Maybe like reverb + echo. I dunno.

Invicta_Veritas 05-19-2007 10:36 PM

Good bands tend to use a little reverb and a couple layered tracks to get a good, thick, full vocal sound. Something I still haven't quite mastered lol.

RetiredAt21 05-20-2007 08:48 AM

Scum is great.

Monticello 05-20-2007 12:06 PM

 Out. Now.

GleamInRanks 05-20-2007 12:08 PM

The new Pig Destroyer sounds awesome.
 Out. Now.
Yeah, I am kinda out of place in this thread considering i dislike most grind... goodbye.

Monticello 05-20-2007 12:10 PM

^^

Txus 05-20-2007 12:19 PM

The new PD is probably the best they've done.
The new PD is probably the best they've done.
I agree, and that's saying a lot because their previous two full lengths still blow my mind.

Monticello 05-20-2007 02:44 PM

Doesn't beat "Prowler..." IMO, but comes really really close.
ugh, Pig Destroyer suck.
negged with every fibre of neg strength i have

Txus 05-20-2007 02:54 PM

I even prefer Terrifyer to Prowler...but the new one beats Terrifyer for sure.

So far, loathsome and alexandria aare my favorite.

RouteOne 05-20-2007 03:52 PM

I don't think the new stuff is better than their older material, but thats how it usually is with most bands. Great stuff though.

RetiredAt21 05-20-2007 06:53 PM

Prowler In The Yard is better than Terrifyer.

I love how absolutely dirty it makes me feel when I listen to it.
Prowler In The Yard is better than Terrifyer.
From a "I love grind" standpoint, sure, but really they're both about equal.
