What's been happening with everyone? Exams are next week for me, which is fine, except I won't be around here much until Wednesday lunchtime (deprived of MX... the pain :( ).

How's your singer going, Chris?

Aes820 06-03-2005 09:29 PM

I haven't seen her in a week or so actually.
I guess she is doing fine.
But things are a bit hectic for me.
It had been a long week. My contract didn't get exteneded, so as of the 30th of this month I'd want to have found work somewhere else.
So, over the last week I've been going to interviews and writing up job applications. Quite busy with all that.
But its the weekend now. So, I'm just going to relax around the house.

Trigger_003 06-03-2005 11:32 PM

Sorry about the no contract deal - that really sucks. You're still going to work in the same kind of field, yeah?

Aes820 06-03-2005 11:48 PM

Yeah. I've set myself up with some people who do prety much the same work that I do know. But just in a differnet section. And for 10K a year more.
Now I make website for people. If this new position works out for me, I'll just be making websites for someone else, and earnign more doign it. Sounds good, yeah?

I had an informal interview on friday and it went quite well. I've got some really good refereneces. So hopefully it will work out for me.
If not, it shouldn't be too much of a hassel to find something else.

How are you with work? I'm guessing you are still a full time student. But have you done any work expereince in you field of vocation? Are you going to go to uni?

Trigger_003 06-04-2005 12:47 AM

That sounds awesome mate, I hope you get it :).

I'm in year 10 at the moment (also doing VCE IT and I'm combined with a year 11 Italian class) and concentrating on my studies/music rather than getting any part-time work or anything.
I definately plan on going to uni. At the moment for music as that's the area I ultimately want to work in. I'm pretty heavily into web design as well though. As for work experience, I'm doing some at a web design company in 2 weeks. The guy there said they're looking to employ quite a few more people over the next few years... :thumb:

Aes820 06-04-2005 12:58 AM

Well. That'll be good.
I know how you've got the smarts for music. Especially given your knowledge of theory that is evident from your posts. That'll be great to get into.
And so would web design. Web design is fun.

But, at my work, were getting into this weird Lotus Notes based web content management system. Gone are the days of Dreamweaver at my work.
All web content now will be authoured within a Lotus Notes database.
It's weird, but I guess it is up to them. I'm just there to make it happen.
I reckon in a couple of years the'll get bored of it then go back to HTML, or PHP.
