The recorded version is just okay.
So you like it live?

NP: moe.-Stranger Than Fiction

KMidura 03-06-2005 09:20 PM

All this talk of Bonnaroo, is anyone going to Wanee in April? My senior year road trip, and after looking over the bands, must say i'm quite thrilled

Johnnymario 03-06-2005 09:21 PM

my band can do long jams lol.. just play this transiction over n over...

Em-A
you can do this for hours
throwe in a slide guitar or sum effects n u have 6-7 hours of fun right there

Badmoon 03-06-2005 10:09 PM

^What a boring band! And how uncreative.

Jam2Me 03-07-2005 02:00 PM

The New Orleans Jazzfest will probably be better or equal to Bonnaroo.

If I find the link I'll put it up.

pegwedge 03-07-2005 02:16 PM

I think I saw that on Jambase and I agree. It looks pretty **** good.
^Did you notice that in your avatar, the guy who is on fire looks like he is screwing the other guy?

I'd rep you for that, but it was disabled :(
haha i guess i need a new avatar

Daniel! 03-07-2005 08:45 PM

moe. is probably my current favorite jamband but that position switches often. If you go to www.nugs.net there is a TON of free shows to download by over 40 or so different jam bands and people like them.

pegwedge 03-07-2005 08:49 PM

moe. is very good. Saw them live just over a week ago. Excellent.

Edit: Also, if you like nugs check http://www.archive.org/audio/etree.php for thousands of live shows from a lot of artists. They have a little over 2700 Dead shows, I think...and if that's not enough to make one visit that site then I don't know what is. :thumb:

nectarjam 03-08-2005 02:07 PM

moe is good. I have some really good live recordings of them.

BigPoppa 03-08-2005 04:38 PM

Another great place to get live jam music is www.furthurnet.com
Lots of good stuff here.

And on the subject of moe. every bassist should really give 'em a listen, Rob Derhak is great, dig his slappin.

pegwedge 03-08-2005 11:43 PM

Rob is an excellent bass player. It's too bad they didn't have his bass turned up loud enough at the concert I was at. He'd throw in little slap and pop fills but you could barely hear them.

funkybeeatch14 03-09-2005 05:33 PM

Im new....anyone here listen to Umphrey's? They're awesome, in my mind maybe as big as Phish someday...

Bold, i know but listen to some of their live shows.

funkybeeatch14 03-09-2005 05:36 PM

Sorry, thats bt.etree.org...

jpj 03-09-2005 06:24 PM

New bands scheduled for Bonaroo:
The Word featuring Robert Randolph, Luther Dickinson, Cody Dickinson, Chris Chew and John Medeski

De La Soul

The Perceptionists featuring Mr. Lif, Akrobatik and DJ Fakts 1

Peter Rowan and Crucial Reggae

pegwedge 03-09-2005 06:36 PM

Wait...is The Word one band featuring all of those guys? If so...nifty.

funkybeeatch14 03-09-2005 08:28 PM

I cant stand Jack Johnson.

Badmoon 03-09-2005 09:16 PM

Luther Dickinson makes that band.

That's your loss.

pegwedge 03-09-2005 09:30 PM

I agree. Jack's where it's at if you just want to sit around and mellow out to some good acoustic guitar work. And the ladies like him so it's good to know a few Jack songs. ;)

Jam2Me 03-10-2005 02:05 PM

Surfer + Director + Awesome Musician + Hawaiian = Cool
Hot wife is also factored in there.

Jam2Me 03-10-2005 02:07 PM

Oh and Addison Groove Project is coming to a venue near me...the month of April is going to be busy for me...5 shows and 2 proms = I'M BROKE!

pegwedge 03-10-2005 02:40 PM

I almost got to see Addison and Galactic together last year but I didn't get to go to the show. :(

jerm267 03-10-2005 02:46 PM

i was disapointed cuz jack didnt have any new england shows posted on his site, but they just put one up somewhere in the boston area. gonna be awesome.

Jam2Me 03-10-2005 03:24 PM

I wish Jack came to Connecticut this summer...Dave Matthews is coming twice and I think if he came once that would be too much.

pegwedge 03-10-2005 04:10 PM

The closest Jack comes to me is North Carolina...a whole freakin state away. I'm in West Virginia by the way. He comes to Philly but that's an eight hour drive all in itself.

funkybeeatch14 03-10-2005 05:26 PM

No tour dates set around my area (Albany, NY) except Vic Wooten on 3-19 which kinda sucks
No tour dates set around my area (Albany, NY) except Vic Wooten on 3-19 which kinda sucks
How far is NY from NYC? NY is usually loaded with great artists daily.

funkybeeatch14 03-10-2005 05:58 PM

About 2 and a half hours from Albany to NYC, yeah the music scene is usually great. Oh yeah DMB coming to SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) but I dont much care for them.

Jam2Me 03-10-2005 06:06 PM

OOh I didn't realize it was that far.

You're a fan of Umphrey's McGee (I'm guessing)?

I like a few of their songs...what would you reccomend?
