The more I listen the more I like, even though there are some shite parts it is listenable.

Liebensaft 02-14-2008 12:29 PM

I listened to like a minute of the first song on Deloused and couldn't take it. I skipped to the middle of the cd and it was the same song. Case closed.

Hep Kat 02-14-2008 12:34 PM

Bedlam is just the culmination of the development of their sound so far. From the similarities of Atd-i that Deloused had, to the overall whackiness of Frances, to Amputechture's lack of anything really memorable- Bedlam is just the perfection of the sound they've been gravitating towards since the beginning of their career.

And now they're going to completely reinvent themselves. Sick.

Aeaon 02-14-2008 03:03 PM

I still haven't even heard it yet.

Kyle 02-15-2008 04:13 PM

New album is a complete joke.

yeah dude

Pronbots always use my threads to hawk their filth.

While this is bumped, I should say this album isn't as bad as when I first heard it, and it's definitely better than Amputechture.

Spaceman Spiff 01-15-2009 12:24 PM

It's a great album.

Amputechture took a long time to grow on me, but I like it quite a bit. I find the opening and closing songs to be kind of weak, though.

pixiesfanyo 01-15-2009 12:34 PM

nowhere near good this album.

Ganondorf 01-15-2009 03:39 PM

I only really like Delosued tbh, Frances the mute was ok but I don't like the other two albums that much, they slowly tipped the awesome/**** ratio the wrong way.......

ok lateralus 01-15-2009 03:44 PM

used to love TMV when Frances the Mute came out, eh now I don't listen to em anymore, gave the newest a chance but thought it was pretty bad.

hendrixonpunk 01-16-2009 10:42 PM
Well I read they have music made for at least 2 more albums, and the next one they will plan to record (after working out kinks and such) will be a lot more chilled out and like a jam, and I think thats when the mars volta can be at their best.
Hey, good call.

hendrixonpunk 01-16-2009 10:47 PM

Yeah, this album... man, the drumming. So unneccessary, eh? I find a certain charm in the single though, I'm not even sure why. There are cool parts, as there's bound to be with Rodriguez-Lopez working stuff, but yeah, the album as a whole gets real boring.

I'm totally pro-Amputechture though.

Zmev 01-23-2009 02:52 AM

cum on eileen

kitsch 01-23-2009 09:39 AM

i liked deloused
frances was okay
amputecture was pushing the limit of meh
and i think i listened to the new one one time.
mars volta have gone downhill.

Liebensaft 01-23-2009 09:04 PM

Yeah, except they started at the bottom of the hill.

horseypie 01-23-2009 11:07 PM

frances the mute is amazing
i cant listen to deloused or amputechture, although day of the baphomets is amazing

the new album starts off really well and interesting, but it drags on for too long i think

imo deloused and bedlam in goliath is there best work. although i really havent listened to the whole frances the mute yet. amputechture is just not my cup of tea

Already_Taken 01-25-2009 10:26 PM

at the drive-in was the pinnacle of TMV. their cd's have gotten worse in a linear fashion from the beginning.

ok lateralus 01-25-2009 10:32 PM

^Agree with every word.

Underachiever 03-18-2009 06:28 PM

The singing is kind of annoying sometimes, but the music itself is brilliant.

oracrest 04-03-2009 02:14 PM

I think its all good. I enjoy Agadez, Ouroborous, and Goliath quite a bit off the bedlam album.

I have been digging their scab dates album too. I like to throw that one on for road trips or biking around town or something.

shindip 04-03-2009 06:21 PM

Frances The Mute>Bedlam>Deloused>Amputechture

All awesome though

shindip 04-04-2009 01:09 PM

Ya scabdates is meh. De loused is kind of boring IMO. Still pretty good though.

adrianman 04-06-2009 07:23 PM

ok i will agree that scabdates was ****
