At first I loved the band but didn't really get them. Once I discovered the meaning of the entire band and album I was like :upset:

Word.

EDIT: So yeah, Knights Of The Abyss' old singer was incredible. :/

Riva 12-19-2007 07:58 PM

The lyrics that you posted are solid, Josh, except for this line:
a massacre of poems
Haha, more like
a mascara of poems :'(
amirite?

TojesDolan 12-19-2007 08:15 PM

Not really.

LifeInABox 12-19-2007 08:18 PM
Okay screw it, we're in need of a deathcore thread, I know it's a dumb term, I know some people don't like it, but whatever.

Some better bands:

Way to pick some of the gayest bands in the genre and exclue the small amount of good ones.

Riva 12-19-2007 08:23 PM
Not really.
It's still a stupid line.
Yeah, his lyrics are incredibly touching.

Same reason as I put strippercore next to your name, lol.
Is that really ICB's band? They're really pretty good!

Shred Danson 12-19-2007 09:00 PM

I hope to God strippercore catches on.

Valhall 12-19-2007 09:01 PM
I hope to God strippercore catches on.
After seeing far more ridiculous genres catch on, I'm sure it will.

Shred Danson 12-19-2007 09:03 PM

And With Faith or Flames will always be known as the ****ing innovators :p

i am the robots 12-20-2007 12:10 AM

pioneering strippercore is pretty innovative

 stfu anus.com
Plenty of those are good bands. Dead Man in Reno, Glass Casket, and In Death We Rise are fucking killer.

Unfotunately, Mappy left out Heaven Shall Burn, which do slay half the bands on that list.
Heaven Shall Burn blows dix.

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 01:43 AM

I will fight you.

Valhall 12-20-2007 01:44 AM

You will lose.

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 01:46 AM

I doubt that. I've got my A Game.

I'll make sure your lips are sealed below your waist.

You will never **** again.

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 01:49 AM

That's not fighting, that's being a bitch and taking an easy way out.

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 01:51 AM

That's just downright gay, dude.

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 01:54 AM

oh baby oh baby oh baby oh

So. Add my buds in A Different Breed of Killer to the list.

www.myspace.com/adifferentbreedofkiller

They just got signed to Rise. I swear Knoxville, TN is a breeding ground for deathcore.

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 01:57 AM

Well fuck you then.

Walking Desecration is win

Dimmu Burger 12-20-2007 12:03 PM

I really enjoy Animosity, Knights..., Glass Casket, Whitechapel, and FASSW. I also enjoy Beneath The Massacre a lot and As Blood Runs Black, Born Of Osiris, Carnifex, Despised Icon, The Irish Front, Here Comes The Kraken, Khann, and Success Will Write Apocolypse Across The Sky. Yes I went on a deathcore tirade a few weeks ago.

Pretty good band.

I refuse to have Despised Icon mentioned here again. They are ****ing awful.

http://www.myspace.com/adifferentbreedofkiller
ill add them then

as for despised icon, they've got some alright parts, but for the most part they're the most boring thing ever.

i am the robots 12-20-2007 05:41 PM

Alright, the list is updated!

Shred Danson 12-20-2007 09:02 PM

...They're metalcore though.

Beneath The Massacre isn't deathcore.

i am the robots 12-21-2007 02:30 AM

So why talk about them, thoughts on Velvet Dawn?

http://myspace.com/velvetdawn

Vocals are kinda raw but they were doing it a bit earlier than most of the gay bands like them now.

Dimmu Burger 12-21-2007 07:29 AM
Beneath The Massacre isn't deathcore.
I guess I tend to lump them in there because the BtM t-shirt that I have says Montreal Deathcore on it. And if you listen to the music it has way too many breakdowns to not be called something-core.

Intestine Baalism is my favorite something-core band.

masscows 12-21-2007 03:41 PM
I hear no breakdowns in BtM. I've never heard any breakdown in thier music. I don't know what the **** everyone is talking about.
LOL

Oh, I just listened to Whitechapel again and they're pretty ****ing horrible.

i am the robots 12-21-2007 04:05 PM

I used to think that too, then they sort of just clicked with me. They're pretty awesome.

masscows 12-21-2007 04:12 PM

Why the **** do they think they need 3 guitarists? Two of them play pretty much the same thing and the other one is playing the same thing with them half the time.

On top of the fact that they can't write a decent riff and the drumming is sloppy as hell. The vocals aren't even brutal, they're like "yuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". Ugh.

publicastration 12-21-2007 04:17 PM

I don't hear sloppy drumming at all. :\

RetiredAt21 12-21-2007 04:18 PM

Why is everyone all over Whitechapel's nuts all the sudden? They aren't even good.

i am the robots 12-21-2007 04:24 PM
Why the **** do they think they need 3 guitarists? Two of them play pretty much the same thing and the other one is playing the same thing with them half the time.
uhh, the one's filling in for the one guitarist who hurt his hand.

Dimmu Burger 12-21-2007 06:08 PM
I hear no breakdowns in BtM. I've never heard any breakdown in thier music. I don't know what the **** everyone is talking about.

And how many times have Dimmu Borgir Recently called themselves black metal? What a band calls themselves means nothing.
Most of their palm muted power chords are done in a very breakdownesque style. I'm listening to them right now. It's chugga chug air chugga chugga air and so on.

And for the record, I read a lot of Dimmu Borgir interviews and they go out of their way to say that they aren't a black metal band. They call themselves an extreme metal band. Even though the Revolver magazine cover has them, Cradle Of Filth and Behemoth and says "Black Metal Christmas" lol.
uhh, the one's filling in for the one guitarist who hurt his hand.
True, the one that hurt his hand just recently left the band permanently so he could recover. I think it is a recurring problem.

i am the robots 12-21-2007 06:32 PM

He messed up his hand in a motorcycle accident, I'm pretty sure.
