Pluperfect_Arson 10-15-2006 06:59 PM
that is an amazing trade.
Agreed, but I am biased because I would take a Warwick over Fender anyday seeing as I dislike Fender.

Phalanx 10-15-2006 07:04 PM

The only fenders I like are decent Squires, when you actually find a decent squire, there is little difference between a squire Jazz bass and a Fender Jazz bass. Call it ignorance but the only time im gonna buy a jazz bass is when it sounds great and is Squire (which is possible)

Pluperfect_Arson 10-15-2006 07:10 PM

I don't even like Fender-looking instruments like Sadowsky's and whatnot. The shape just bugs the crap out of me, and I think it is just so incredibly bland, though the Sadowsky's probably sound a ton better.

I like that alot. What are you using for the fat fuzzy distortion, and for the higher track that comes later. Hot tones.

PainKiller8191 10-15-2006 07:20 PM

hey gav i got my haircut too!
i made a thread called "updates"
i'm too lazy to fetch the link though, it's on the 2nd or third pages of the bass forum
I like that alot. What are you using for the fat fuzzy distortion, and for the higher track that comes later. Hot tones.
Higher track? :p It's all looped, baby.

The fat fuzzy distortion is my ME-50B with a mid-boost and the metal distortion. The higher pitched part is the same two, plus a chorus + delay combo, and an octave up effect.

Akira 10-15-2006 07:25 PM

I meant higher in pitch. I really like that tone. The octave sounds ace.

BenJammin 10-15-2006 07:27 PM
I meant higher in pitch. I really like that tone. The octave sounds ace.
It sounds like total ass on its own, but layered with other effects, I've found it to be extremely useful.

Akira 10-15-2006 07:30 PM

Would you recommend the ME-50B? It looks pretty cool. After using my BP200, it is so appealing to have everything labeled and not digitial in one screen.

BenJammin 10-15-2006 07:32 PM
Would you recommend the ME-50B? It looks pretty cool. After using my BP200, it is so appealing to have everything labeled and not digitial in one screen.
Oh, absolutely. I find that having it totally analog is a great way to go. My biggest complaint is that sometimes I want to use 2 effects that are in the same section, but that's alright. I've had mine for 1.5 years and have really put it to use.

If you don't use a wide variety of effects, though, it might not be worth the price.

Akira 10-15-2006 07:35 PM

I probably won't get it because I don't use a lot of effects. I want to get a distortion unit, and maybe a delay. Along with my chorus, I think I would be pretty much set.

BenJammin 10-15-2006 07:37 PM

Yeah, in that case, don't bother. The money you'd spend on the ME-50B could be put toward individual pedals.

Someday, I plan on selling it off and buying individuals, but that's far from being a priority. I want to upgrade my bass and buy a cab first (in reverse order).

Akira 10-15-2006 07:44 PM

I think a six string comes before pedals. I have recently really been wanting the extra room. Only I am not going to be able to try out a BTB, so it is now between the SR506 and a Tune I played at Sam Ash. I suck at making big purchases - I hate spend large amounts of money at once.

 I know the feeling. I want the gear, but don't want to spend the money.

Anyone watching the game?

I heavily regret not playing baseball when I was younger. I would've LOVED to be a pitcher...

I just never got into baseball.

I played baseball when I was younger.

One of the more boring sports to play. I played that for two years. I also did track and field for two years with the 100M dash and high jump as my main events.

Wrestling was my thing, though, and I did that for six years. Coaches begged me to come back when I trasnferred back to my old high school. :p

PainKiller8191 10-15-2006 08:02 PM

holocaust memorial stuff, we're visiting all the major concentration/death camps and touring poland in general

They are tricking you.

They are actually going to gas you when you go into one.
Wrastlin', eh?
Yes, wrestling. Everyone always seems to think it is just some homosexual sport since guys are rolling around on mats together with their tight, little singlets. :upset:
