It's a good thread and I think if it's stickied, not only would we all have easy access to pics and info of regular users, it would also allow new users to integrate into the community better.

As much of a good thread that it is, I think it is fine not being stickied mostly due the fact that most people ignore the stickied threads at the top. Plus I dont think any threads are going to bump it off the page anytime soon. Maybe once we've got a good amount of replies I'll stick it so people can browse through.

Here are my reasons, they are perfectly logical.

Oi thread is open because:
1.It pertains to punk
2.People have come in to discuss it and are interested in it.
3.Closing it would imply we don't welcome that kind of music around here, when the forum title implies we do.
4. It would send the wrong message to new users
5. Flamers should stay out of it anyway; closing it would give weight to their behavior.

Straight Edge thread is closed because:
1. The argument is tired
2. It attracts shitty posters like Gannondorf
3. Look back 20 pages and you'll find the same exact thing.

Well I was mainly trying to draw Matt's attention, you know, the other mod.

In soulseek you said there are numerous posts from people who want to discuss it when there are like, three. You're pretty intent on keeping one thread open to keep one new guy, but you fail to consider that there are a lot of people who'd like to discuss straight edge too. And "the flaming in there shouldn't be in there anyway" is bulls[COLOR="Black"]h[/COLOR]it, it doesn't mean the thread ISN'T full of s[COLOR="Black"]h[/COLOR]it. You could say the same exact thing about any bad post someone makes in the straight edge thread. Honestly we're lucky for any new threads these days, but you can't lock one thread which was generating actual discussion and keep a thread full of flames open on the grounds that "It's punk"

As far as my hip hop thread, it has everything to do with the community here, because plenty of us listen to hip hop and I feel like we should have a thread to talk about it within the punk forum if we want.

This position is completely voluntary. If Matt wants to do something, his opinion is just as valid as mine because we are both the mods here. He hasn't done anything. My decision stands.
