First of all, Maiden ****ing rule!! I'm currently listenign to powerslave and playing along to it. I just ahd Killers on aswell a fine piece of classic Paul D'ianno Iron Maiden. For the people looking for the "best" Iron Maiden album there isn't really one out there. they are all works of art. Powerslave or Number of the Beast is probably the ebst way to go for someone who's just getting into them. Brave New World is also an exellent choice. one more thing if anyone knows the solo to where eagles dare please post a tab or something because I'm having difficulty trying to figure it out.i don't know why though it isn't overlly difficult.

Superpeer: Try some Di'Anno stuff then.

Paul Di'Anno was the old singer, or even maybe the Blaze Bailey era.

Question: If I want the best of Di'Anno era Maiden, do I buy Killers or Iron Maiden ?
Iron Maiden is much more enjoyble than Killers.

The Clairvoyant is also a good song.
ever notice its the riff to "the number of the beast" backwards lol.

RockerGav 11-26-2003 10:09 AM

Thanks, judging from the responses here, i'll go with Iron Maiden.

And The Clairvoyant is the one that starts off bass only?

Iron Maiden.. amazing band. Steve Harris goes up there as one of the best bassists ever. They are one of the bands that has an incredible amount of amazing songs, so you can never decide which CD to buy by them since each one is amazing as hell. There was a period where I disliked some of their songs, but I found they redeemed themselves with Brave New World, and Dance of Death is an amazing CD. Out of the 3 most popular classic metal bands (Sabbath, Priest and Maiden) I love Maiden the most.

Pastorius 11-26-2003 11:57 AM

I am going to see Iron Maiden very soon on the Dance of Death tour, in Cardiff!!!!!!! So glad they came back to the place they came from (UK, not Cardiff)

I cannot wait!!! If they play Fear of the Dark or Judas My Guide I will literally jizz my pants.

Thunder Fingers 11-26-2003 01:36 PM

Dance of death is a very good album! Steve Harris is awsome! anybody noticed that the guitars plays very little on the strings under the G string??? Steve Harris Writes it all! :p what a god!!! Jason Newsted got me started on bass, steve harris deffinitive has keept me playing! :D (gonna visit this one often! :p )

Judas be my guide...your on your own there, i guarantee you that is a song that wont ever be played live...like run silent run deep, some Maiden tracks they just wont do. Hell, id love to hear the lonliness of the long distance runner or tailgunner back in the set, when a band has so many good tracks to choose from its impossible to hear everything you want lol. thats what cover bands are for :)

Thunder Fingers 11-27-2003 12:00 PM

bump.... :p

HondoII 11-27-2003 12:21 PM

i would post the set list but i dont want to ruin it for you...but Paschendale live is completely incredible.

FrailandBedazzled1979 11-27-2003 01:06 PM

^^^^

i bet it would be, i read in an interview that Nicko wants to play "montsegur" live, but i have a feeling its not on the setlist.

Thunder Fingers 11-27-2003 02:42 PM

ah... i hope they come to norway again... (they probaly do since were next to England!) they are taking down the touring, so probaly the closest countries are getting conserts (Scandinavia, Uk, Germany , France) basicly europe :p

Thunder Fingers 11-28-2003 09:31 AM

WTF? 3rd page? :(

blackend_shadow 11-28-2003 12:24 PM

zeppelin_rules_62 11-29-2003 04:11 AM

One of a Kind 11-29-2003 04:45 AM

Iron Maiden is my favorite band. I think they ****ing rule everything! Here's some good songs:

2 Minutes To Midnight
Aces High
Afraid To Shoot Strangers (Awsome solos)
Blood Brothers
Brave New World
Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter
Dream Of Mirrors
Fear Of The Dark
Flight Of Icarus
Ghost Of The Navigator (My fave)
Hallowed By Thy Name
Invaders
Iron Maiden
Rainmaker
Run To The Hills
Sanctuary
Sign Of The Cross
The Clairvoyant
The Evil That Men Do
The Mercanary
The Number Of The Beast
The Trooper
Wrathchild
Basically, any Iron Maiden songs are good. Good albums are Number Of The Beast, Powerslave, Fear Of The Dark, Brave New World, Dance Of Death. \m/ UP THE IRONS! \m/

Anti-Bush 11-29-2003 07:45 AM

What is the name of the boxset of all their cds? (birthday in 19 days) *just realized hes wearing his The Trooper shirt*.

JMetallica 11-29-2003 08:03 AM

****, i cannot get over how perfect seventh son... album is. Pure Brilliance.

Sorry, for my random comment... but seriously, its perfect in everyway. No other album tops it.

Thunder Fingers 11-29-2003 09:48 AM

Hmmm, I got mine the morning of the day you posted that.

Is it just me or are Number of the Beast and Run to the Hills heavily overrated?

they are...and those songs are always played at every concert...but no matter what you say...when your at a maiden gig you cant help but sing along to those songs no matter how many times you've heard them.

RockerGav 12-02-2003 02:34 AM

Bump

Maveryck 12-02-2003 02:55 AM

Listening to Age Of Innocence right now.

One of the better Iron Maiden choruses, in my opinion. Not a scratch on Run To The Hills or Number Of The Beast, but still amazing.

RockerGav 12-02-2003 02:56 AM

My favourite Maiden chorus would have to be Dream of Mirrors.

xDeViAnTx 12-02-2003 05:35 AM

December 8th in Glasgow, tickets finally came......

system_dude 12-02-2003 05:39 AM

JMetallica 12-02-2003 05:39 AM

All you English people, are **** lucky! Maiden aren't even coming to Australia for the dance of death tour. :(

Hope they show up with Priest though ... *fingers crossed*

Shut up. Seriously, Maiden should never Quit. They are one of the best bands ever, and no one who has made a proper, educated, formulated judgmentthat of all things music can disagree with.

Maiden shouldn't, and won't ever quit.
