Only had to be fun for us, really. We get a chance to be (really) stupid a couple of times a year, when it comes time to make a new community thread or something similar. The reactions of most of you were disappointing, to say the least.
It's hard to get hot-headed on the internet, let alone mx.

Maybe if the other community thread seemed to have all the posts deleted, but really it was just a clone with the same name, I'd get pretty mad.

Yeah. But there should have been some glimmer of recognition that it was a joke, though.

http://www.backstreetmerch.com was recommended a few weeks ago in here, I think. And I didn't mind the AIM spamming.

I really want some Explosions in the Sky shirts, but there arn't any anywhere that I can find :\

...I also wouldn't mind finding a Radiohead shirt that isn't in the retarded British clothing size system(IE: Large being a small).
Thats how they do ti in the UK?
Yup. I ordered a X-Large from infinity1, turns out all Radiohead shirts are manufactured in Britian and feature the clothing size of the country(which they don't specifiy), and it turns out that a X-Large is more of a Medium :\

Really bummed when I got it, but I'm eventually just going to get someone to rip the design off the shirt and put it on a different one...

orly? well anyhow, the Peccatum shirt I found there that I really want is also on Star500, they're reliable :thumb:.

Otherside 11-29-2005 07:33 PM

Star500 is definitley the best band shirt website I've used, huge stock and very fast shipping, as well as good customer service.

Yeh...they were good, pretty much my definiton of what a Metal show should be, but I wasn't big on the music. Most Death Metal bores me.

That's too bad. I found their show enchancting. Especially when the vocalist came out drinking from a horn of meade and the guy behind me was yelling "Odin". So viking!

Oh no, I did love the show. The vocalist screamed Viking lol. And the synchronized head banging and running aroud stage and stuff. It was grand. Definitely a great performance.
Lucky bastard. What all did they play?
Ummm...loud music hehe. To be honest even if I was familiar with their music I'd have been hard-pressed to identify individual songs because a lot of it was pretty muddy soundwise.

Good band.

Oh yes. The synchronized headbanging was great.

Trev, they played a really short set. Very disppointing. Thankfully, they played the legendary Death in Fire.

King_Of_Terrors 11-29-2005 07:47 PM

Ah, I suppose I will actually post in this one. I need to be kept up to date!

Random **** of the day:

I got nylon strings for my acoustic.
I got bit by a mosquito three times.
MX is extremly slow.
Lucky bastard. What all did they play?
This was their set at my show :

They opened with An Ancient Sign of Coming Storm, then went right into The Pursuit Of Vikings. They then played Releasing Surtur's Fire, Down The Slopes of Death and then For The Stabwounds In Our Backs. They then ended up the set with the epic yet simple Death in Fire.

Pretty sure that is there set for the whole tour.

I love Amon Amarth, so epic yet so simple and still extremely Viking.

And Johan is one loud guy. He was yelling over the music with out the mic, and I could still hear him yelling and such.

RouteOne 11-29-2005 07:48 PM
They'll do that to you. What song did you hear?
"Intestinal incubation".

Willotip records has a very solid line-up.

Good song. Unfortunately, good as Necrophagist are, you may find them getting monotonous over time. Avoid Epitaph for now, and stick with Onset of Putrefaction (which has Intestinal Incubation). Specifically, listen to to Extreme Unction and Fermented Offal Discharge, if you can. If you like solos - which are pretty much undoubtedly the best part of Necrophagist - , I'd find it difficult to imagine you not liking those tracks.

This is true. I remember at one point he was screaming into the mic, then he takes it away and I still hear the screaming so I was thinking (momentarily) he was lip-syncing or something, because it was so ungodly loud there was no way I could fathom hearing him over everything else sans a mic. Yet he did it several times and finally I was just blown away by the power in his voice heh.

I really need to check some Necrophagist out. I think I downloaded Epitaph off of Soulseek from Neurotoxin? Dunno, but I will listen to it.

Dude check them out, it's really worth it. I've been listening to Onset Of Putrfaction a lot lately and i must say is really good.

King_Of_Terrors 11-29-2005 08:04 PM

I will. Everyone is saying such great things about them....

It will get old, really really quick mind you.

The only thing after awhile that stands out is the solos, then even then they become boring as they always seem to be played in the same key and scale...

NP - Amon Amarth - The Dragons Flight Across The Waters

Bartender 11-29-2005 08:08 PM

^True. But they are really nice solos.

I need some Amon Amarth albums. They're always overpriced around here.
