Nice new title guys.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:51 PM

Yea it took me some time aswell

Doctor Night 11-11-2005 04:31 PM
Animals is awesome. Pigs is just amazing. The whole album is just great. Took a few listens to grow on me. Either it or WYWH is my favorite album.

Obi One, I can upload The Madcap Laughs and Barrett if you want.

np- Learning to Fly
I love the part on 'Dogs' where Gilmour comes in with those chords he plays on the acoustic geetar.

Killtacular 11-11-2005 05:09 PM

Wish You Were Here is my favourite album EVER.

I also think that Piper is nothing special.

Glitterati 11-11-2005 05:20 PM
I brought Wish You Were Here a few day ago. A very good album, not a bad song on it. My favourite track at the moment has to be Have a Cigar :smoke:
Good album. I love SOYCD, I could listen to it forever.

Good stuff
Good stuff
The real question is which half is better.

I say.. 2 (aka pts 6-9)

I think. I'm not completely sure.

Britton 11-11-2005 05:33 PM

Nor am I

moaner 11-11-2005 05:35 PM

And so it begins once more.

TheDMV 11-11-2005 06:58 PM

hey new thread.

How long is the Division Bell compared to their other albums? How many tracks are on it?

I think its the best of the (what I consider) absolutely atrocious post-wall albums.
I think its the best of the (what I consider) absolutely atrocious post-wall albums.
I heard some of it a while back, and the guitar work sounded great. From the short parts I heard, it sounded like some intelligent, innovative playing.
Google?
These posts are not helping. Please don't do things lke this or I will see to it that you are banned.

robo2448 11-11-2005 07:10 PM

11 songs. Pretty long album with some pretty lengthy tracks like High Hopes. It's fantastic musically, and the lyrics aren't Roger Waters but they aren't really that bad. Very good album.

I prefer the first part.

rockinbass17 11-11-2005 10:15 PM
That would be nice, thanks.
I would like it too, if it isn't too much trouble.

DeusExMachina 11-11-2005 10:30 PM

I prefer SOYCD 1-5 to SOYCD 6-9.

Also, I think most people here like Animals. Personally, I'm not a huge fan.

Broken Arrow 11-11-2005 10:35 PM

Like I said in the other thread, I love Animals if I'm in the right mood but besides that its just good.

Aw, so the movie More doesn't even exist? What about the movie The Valley?

DeusExMachina 11-11-2005 10:54 PM

Don't know the answer to your question, Livewired. But speaking of movies, does anyone know anything about that movie that Roger did the music for after they broke up? Some post-nuclear war cartoon movie? I'm interested in find it.

Zabriskie point isnt a Floyd album, there are other artists on there.

Amazon has it, but it is a bit pricey.

DeusExMachina 11-11-2005 10:59 PM

That is pretty pricey. I'd probably just snag it used.

flappersack 11-11-2005 11:02 PM

Today I purchased the 30th aniversary cd of Dark Side Of The Moon. I must say I am most pleased with my purchase!
I've already got The Wall and Echoes - which are amongst my favourite cds.
I'm keen to purchase one of the live Floyd Albums; what is you people's favourite live albums? Was looking at pulses and delicate sound of thunder

Thats pretty cool. Jerry's on it.

I have a couple of those Floyd songs on that Archives CD I found.

"Heartbeat, Pigmeat"

"Crumbling Land"

The later is acctually such a cool song.

EDIT-I also have "Come in Number 51"

DeusExMachina 11-11-2005 11:04 PM

The name makes me think it would be kind of like The Nile Song. Any similarity?

"Pulse" and "Is there anybody out there? The wall live" are both great live albums. You may want to look into bootlegs at one point.

Broken Arrow 11-11-2005 11:08 PM

No, not really. It has a cool vocal harmony upbeat song.

YSI or AIM?

Spinal Pap 11-11-2005 11:20 PM

Cool new thread title.

*takes a moment to reflect on DSOTF thread*

NP:Echoes

DeusExMachina 11-11-2005 11:37 PM

Hey Livewired, could you YSI those songs? Especially Come in Number 51, I've been wanting to hear that for awhile.

I've seen this before LoL

We want Pulse!

Oh yeah, "other artists" = solo Pink Floyd efforts.

Meh, I'd buy it, but all I'd be getting that's new is that Roger Waters song. :p

At the moment I like 'Shine on pts 1-5'. But I'm sure that'll change.
I think its the best of the (what I consider) absolutely atrocious post-wall albums.
Is't not great but it isn't poor. 'Lost For Words' Is quite exceptional.
"Is there anybody out there? The wall live" .
On the P.F live album on amazon, it says there are songs called 'Master of Ceremonies' 'Last Few bricks' and 'What shall we do now'. Anyone know anything about this?

moaner 11-12-2005 06:13 AM

I prefer 6-9 over 1-5 ever so slightly, but both are beautiful peices of music.

Spinal Pap 11-12-2005 09:30 AM

The buildup in part 1-5 is outstanding, as is the solo. I prefer the lyrics in 6-9 though.

robo2448 11-12-2005 10:47 AM
That would be nice, thanks.
YSI didn't cooperate yesterday when I tried it. I'll try it again right now though. Nice avatar. I want that DVD.

Yeah on Is There Anybody Out There (The Wall Live) there are a few songs that did not make it onto the studio album.

Last Few Bricks - Empty Spaces with some Run Like Hell.. It's cool.

What Shall We Do Now - This song is in The Wall movie. It's Empty Spaces stretched with more lyrics, I personally love it.

Master Of Ceremonies.. No idea on that.

_DaviD_ 11-12-2005 12:03 PM

Im going to see austrailian Pink Floyd next year AYY!

Glitterati 11-12-2005 12:03 PM

I got to listen to Dark Side Of The Moon in my painting class on Thursday. That was cool. When "Time" came on my friend was like "what the hell is with all these bells?"
