I thought you started a P!atD thread when I first saw the thread title. :(

P!atD and TAI are two great pop-punk bands that I have discovered this year.

Oh, I have A Wilhelm Scream-Ruiner. Does anyone want it?

Indeed.

Thankyou, sir... I must permit you a request sometime, in the absence of rep++

Men, Women And Children are awesome from what I've heard of them.

I was pretty impressed when I first heard them. But their music is hard to get to.

Meh... You gotta start somewhere and Newbie introductions are surprisingly humiliating. So I just dive right in.
I always found Valencia quite boring, but I might have to listen to the album again. TMS are a great band as well, I have their EP and it's fun to listen to.
well i got my hands on the album i've not given it a full lission to yet... its not as amazeing as a lot of people seem to be makeing out... but it is very very good

Axelthesot 11-08-2005 01:30 PM

The Receiving End of Sirens, period.

The most musically talented band I've heard in a LONG time. Extremely well thought out lyrics and a concept album (their only album thusfar) release that will blow your mind if you give it a chance.

I've seen them live 4 times now, and each time it's the best show I've ever seen and I've seen alot of shows. They WILL melt your face live. Just don't sue them.

Firecracker 11-08-2005 02:14 PM

Catchy hooks, isn't that what it's all about?
Darn, all these years....

That's the whole point i listen to the music, i don't see why people have to stick up for a genre.

I wrote these guys off after listening to them on their Purevolume about 4 months ago, but I just got their album, and it's a nice blend of pop-punk melodies and post-hardcore riffs. It feels like it's inbetween Armor For Sleep and Saosin. Anyway, check out "Jubert's Path Of Destruction" and "Got Some Purple Stuff... Hey, Sunny D!" on their PV.

Yeah, stick disagree in there some where.

They pretty much got boo'd off supporting Blink182 this time last year.

fenderstratboy2 11-13-2005 04:15 PM

Now that they are no longer together, i doubt we will be hearing much of them on the boards. but in the meantime, i'd have to say to listen to the kinison

Ahhh so that was what they were called! When I saw blink in newcastle (this time last year) I remembered Blink, Sugarcult and one other band that no-one really liked.. Kinison it is.

They were ok, nothin' special.

If you check the pic of me in the pics thread, you'll see my red blink t-shirt...

Yeah dude, seen em live. Just rubbing it in for anyone who hasn't. So ner.

Oz Rembrandt 11-13-2005 04:33 PM

I have, Infact, it was the same gig.

Ross 11-13-2005 04:34 PM

Did I say you could post here?

do you still like blink? cos youve stopped posting in there as much

Ross 11-14-2005 02:18 PM

^vote me, I'm feelin ya^

I had a period of more hardcore end punk, but its great to return to pop-punk once in a while. The music is a lil more fun and generally not so serious, plus its way easier to listen to :)

I still love a lot of the older ones, and there's a few newer ones that give me hope, but I know what you mean.

Ross 11-14-2005 04:34 PM
Now, theres absolutley no bands about that I'm particulally pasionate about...
Hmm. How do you define passion?

I'd agree though that there is a distinct lack of new music that is truly awesome. Oh how I'd've loved to be a teen in the late 70s... Punk, two-tone... yeaaahh.

<3 Sugarcult.

I haven't listened to The Kinison much, even though I do have one of their albums.
