I love this thread so much, it will be added to the rules as the 'official' recommendation thread. Basically it'll keep running like it has been, people recommending bands to each other based on their tastes or generall just whoring a band. Spammers will be banned and such.

Rep++ for Andre for making an awesome thread.

AndreTheHyena 10-23-2005 12:09 AM

Woohoo, it'll be the second time I've gotten rep since the new rep plan. Thanks, buddy.

Brain Toad 10-23-2005 12:12 AM

Thanks for creating a good thread.

But enough of this fellating, back to recommending.

I recommend Good Clean Fun for everyone.

As do I.

Can somebody recommend me some good thrash bands? At the moment I listen to Municipal Waste and Slayer.

pedro durruti 10-23-2005 01:03 AM

I recommend The Slackers to everyone that doesn't listen to them

obese_breasts 10-23-2005 01:13 AM

To andre and anyone else interested in the folky stuff, listen to Two Gallants.

TakeWarning 10-23-2005 01:13 AM

I second listening to the Slackers.

Mastodon.

They aren't thrash per se, but they have some thrash influence (and toured with Slayer) and completely rule.

Bad newbie, mod and veteran.

Personal. It's in the bleeding thread title.

Anyway, ummm...

Peter and Ska Robot Army should listen to Filabuster. They are on Amped 2 for the x-box and are very good.

Free songs (in RA format)

pedro durruti 10-23-2005 06:37 PM

Busted :(

Ok, Dominic, you listen to the Blue Meanies. I don't think you listen to any ska, and you like more artsy music, but also like punk, and they are pretty different ska. They aren't necessarily artsy, but they aren't a typical ska band, and most of the times they aren't even a ska band.

Trying to download Filibuster now, but first I have to install a new version of Real Player

Anxious 10-23-2005 08:01 PM

Cool guys, I'll check out all of your reccomendations tommrow when I'm at home doing nothing.

Anxious 10-24-2005 07:52 PM

I listend to Bear Vs. Shark, and I thought it sounded like pretty bland indie. Nothing to hold me intrest anyway. Not bad.

Hahaha, Sid, I like your avatar.

voodooglowskulls 10-26-2005 08:40 AM

I know ive said this on other threads, but i recomend:

shipwrecked kenny (myspace.com/shipwreckedkenny for the new song, vocals arent done yet, but ull get the idea, or purevolume.com/shipwreckedkenny for old stuff...all quality sucks)

spooner d (purevolume.com/spoonerd)

mr. p. lonka and the jedi knights (myspace.com/mrplonka)

all local bands for me...all quality sucks, none in real studios, just crap stuff from mixers and computer equipment...=p still good though.

KingOfSka 10-26-2005 12:48 PM

Reccomend me some, hmm...Ska perhaps?

I've been getting into lots of Ska/Punk lately. Bands like The Flatliners, Against All Authority, The Rudiments, and other bands that I didn't used to like as much. Give it a go.

Berserker! 10-26-2005 05:17 PM

NICK: listen to American Beauty by the Grateful Dead but you probably already have

Or anything by Runrig and maybe even 500 miles by the Proclaimers if you're really into the Scottish stuff.

You should have heard John Fogerty by now too.

I don't have any Fogarty solo, only CCR stuff. I love them. The Fogarty's lived on the same street as my grandfather and my grandfather was friends with one of them.

Don't think I've heard that Grateful Dead song.
