Thanks!

I want it really bad, I have Celebration of Guilt and it is one of the best CD's I own. I heard a small sample of Diamond for Disease and it ruled. James Malone kicks ass.

killa_bees77 10-17-2005 12:54 PM

Thanx for the demos Streelight, the song titles were switched a bit from the other demos that were sent to me earlier but its ok. I liked the other songs.

to BeaZ, and Creeping Deth, i sent out the links for the EP so check it out if y'all want.

Vortigon 10-17-2005 01:05 PM

Apocalyptic Raids 10-18-2005 08:09 AM

Could I have the demos?

jonhislop@gmail.com

Shadows 10-18-2005 01:49 PM
they use extra musicians live (additional guitar and bass). The singer/guitarist plays bass on the albums though.
They were a full band for a while. After Celebration was released, they managed to find themselves a permanent bassist and guitarist, but they quit sometime in the recent past. It's back down to the two of them again.

Uh, Streetlight, I accidentally deleted those demos from my mailbox. :( Do you think you could send them again? theflashmango@yahoo.com

Cardboard Headgear 10-18-2005 01:55 PM

szuerner@sfsu.edu If you folks are still YSIing the EP or demos or whatever.

Triangle 10-18-2005 02:11 PM

Awesome. Downloading...

killa_bees77 10-19-2005 08:35 AM

Hey which one of you guys that pre-ordered got your EP already? I was wondering because it seemed like I was the only one. I actually emailed Mike from Arsis (drummer) and he was kool enough to respond and tell me that usually when you pre order they send them out right when they get copies which would explain why i got mine so early. Haha i just think its awesome Mike even took the time to write me back. what a kool dude

Cardboard Headgear 10-19-2005 12:14 PM

Cheers to the guys for sending out the YSI's. The chorus to The Promise of Never is so walrusin' badass.

spacebass22@hotmail.com

Please send me it!

Vortigon 10-19-2005 01:56 PM

Yeah thanks for that guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Dude, you should join the Arsis boards. Mike himself posts there, so me and the other guys there always get the inside info before anyone else. He told me aobut the early sendings too. He also mentioned that him and Jim are currently putting together an Arsis DVD. :)

I ordered mine a couple days ago. I'm just waiting for it to ship.

Triangle 10-19-2005 02:23 PM

Listening to for my second time now and I can safely say that I like it. It's so... fresh.

Shadows 10-19-2005 02:24 PM

Yes, they have a very unique style. I've never heard it anywhere else.

Yeah, interesting.. I hope to see great things come out of them in the near future.

Shadows 10-19-2005 02:38 PM

Mike has also said Willowtip is considering releasing their debut album on vinyl with two bonus tracks. I'd buy it.

killa_bees77 10-19-2005 02:48 PM

Alright Dark Hero, sent.

ShadowsFallen, yeah im going to join the Arsis boards. Cant wait for that DVD, esp since they don't tour that often. Its going to be killer.

Shadows 10-19-2005 03:52 PM

Yeah, I'm hoping they tour pretty soon. I've been telling Mike to come to my town when they do. A DVD would be cool, but it's just various live stuff shot at shows onto a tape, so it's pretty low quality. Mike and Jim have already picked out the shows they'd like to use, so I'm excited. :)

It's a very small crowd there so you'll fit in quickly.

killa_bees77 10-19-2005 04:14 PM

Ahh theres the review. Sweet man.:thumb:

Shadows 10-19-2005 04:17 PM

Yeah, sorry about that. Sputnik has a bug in it right now, so the coding I'd use to format the quotes doesn't read right. I'll put them in once it's fixed but for now I'll have to go traditional.

EDIT: Just got those demos from Streetlight. Woah, this is really amazing.

You are officialy the best poster on musicianforums.

Shadows 10-21-2005 02:41 PM

Thanks you, Med. I think the music is made even more incredible by the fact that merely two guys are able to write and play all of this. The title track on the new EP does indeed overshadow the other two songs; it's epic as hell, and contains just about every element a metal band possibly can, except for maybe some acoustic guitar.

I think The Promise of Never deserves attention too. It's very fast and memorable. The chorus has been stuck in my head for weeks.

I sold my soul to Arsis

Arucard 10-27-2005 07:53 PM
/bump

I got this the other day...really good stuff. I absolutely love A Diamond For Disease...pretty much everything that I look for when I listen to (non-power) metal in that one track actually. The other two tracks are kind of overshadowed by that one song for me, but that's not surprising as it's a complete monster. That's a mighty fine review you've got their as well, Shadowsfallen. The fact that there are two people in this band scares me...
One of the reasons why The Promise Of Never isn't as good as ADFD is because its an older song revamped, not a totally newly written one, and its obvious that their new writing style is alot more mature and devoloped.

Which track is that..? I want to download this.

Happymeal 10-27-2005 08:34 PM

I'm gonna check this out and see if it changes my mind about them. Their full length was kind of a turn off for me.

A_Tossed_Dwarf 10-29-2005 03:20 PM

I love Arsis, and I love aDFD. Absolutely incredible.
