Alright you can listen too the whole entire American Death song if you go to http://frequencyreviews.com/ and look at the top of the page where it says Senses Fail click that and you can listen to the whole song. I also had a pop up come up and it had the Buried a Lie acoustic on it....
Has anyone heard Institituionalized? The Suicidal Tendencies cover from Tony Hawk: American Wasteland soundtrack. I think it sounded pretty good, not as good as the original, but better than I expected.
I think its amazing, Its been playing on my cd player for like the past week. I think that whole soundtrack shows that no matter what genre you put some bands in; they all can go back and pay respects to the people that did it first. |
I'll have to rip the demo of this song, it's awesome
|
I know it is amazing.
|
I can almost see his nostrils moving as he sings because he sings through his nose so much.
Other than that I like the music but I just cannot stand his voice. Decent screaming too. |
The band themselves are pretty good but they have the worst singer ever. He can't sing or scream or do anything right. He's like the guy from NFG but even worse.
|
Ummm your retarded...your a loser.
|
Good band. Fantastic EP. The full length was a let down but it still has some stand out tracks too.
|
I don't know if any of you play guitar, but all of their songs have the same riff. Its the same chords as the prechorus to Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous by Good Charlotte, or Everlong by Foo Fighters. They just speed them up, or slow them down in places, but you can sing all of their songs to 1 of their riffs, which personally really annoys me. And Buddy can't sing live to save himself, every note was flat. I still listen to them though, on a rare occasion.
|

I'm suprised you think they're good. They're pretty generic. |
The knew American Death demo is sweet this morning I listened to it on my mp3 player like 10 times.
|

Yeah, I used to hate them. But then I relistened to the EP and it has some really creative stuff on it. Buddy's scream is amazing, and although they didn't sound that good, I enjoyed them live. Really its just Buddy's scream that keeps me interested in the band, the other screamer is terrible. |

Ya I remember in my Senses Fail thread you said they were awful....see I agree I like Buddy's scream but people say it is garbage. |
Thats hands down the best part of the band. If it weren't for that I probably wouldn't like them half as much.
|
See I like the rest of the band too but thats just me....he does have a good scream though.
|
Just got into them and I think they are pretty good.I will look forward to listening to more of their stuff.
|
when is LIEY re-release coming out?
|
I'm half and half on them. Some of their songs like Rum is for Drinking Not Burning are incredibly awesome, and then some suck so hard it's hard to beleive it's the same band. Overall I like them.

I also live in Leicestershire  |
I like Senses Fail. My favorite songs are Let It Enfold You, Free Fall Without A Parachute, and The Irony Of Dying On Your Birthday.
|
amazing band and their semi-new cd is great. Fav. Songs:
Irony of Dying on Your Birthday Let it Enfold You Lady in the Blue Dress Stephen |
I have been a fan of Senses Fail for a while now.
I thought the EP was amazing, and the LP amazing as well. But this new stuff, American Death and Institutionalized... These songs just don't sound like the Senses Fail I love. It's totally different in fact. Buddy Neilson is way better than this stuff. I'm afraid of where Senses Fail seems to be going now. |
This band is everyones guilty pleasure. Its like, that band you like, but you dont mention when someone asks what you listen to.
I thought their EP had some really good stuff on it, but the LP sucked except angela baker, let it enfold you, and let it enfold you. The 'I HATE THE PAIN' part in asngela baker gives me goosebumps. But yeah, their lyrics are pretty lame, but thats the reason nobody wants to say they like them. And my sister said she's seen them live like, 15 times because they always wind up in pittsburgh. And she says they kinda suck live. |
I don't see how their lyrics are lame most of the time. But if you think those lyrics are lame listen to insitutianalized. I agree with Meep?. The new songs suck horribly. Warnings couldn't prepare me for that type of dissapointment.
|
The LP has tons of amazing songs.
And Senses Fail are not a guilty pleasure for me. I always tell people they are my favourite band tied with UnderOath. I don't see how you can say their lyrics are bad, Buddy Neilson is a great songwriter. And SicTranisGloria, I think you are talking about the lyrics off of that new Institutionalized song. But that song is not written by them. It is only a cover song (fortunately). Yeah, the lyrics in that song are pretty gay. "ALL I WANTED WAS ONE FUCKING PEPSI! AND SHE WOULDNT GIVE IT TO ME!" But this American Death song, it's just totally different. Like it's almost mainstream rock. |
Hey...they edited the F-word out of my post and changed it into fusty walrus...
|
I just bought a ticket to see them... and Saves The Day. I think i might just go to see Saves The Day.
|
Heh, I wish I could go to that tour. It's in Rochester on Sunday 10/30 but I can't go out of town for shows on school nights.
I'm going to see Fear Before the March of Flames, and The Fall of Troy for free that night instead, so I don't really care. :D :D |

Haha, that sucks. I know it's going to be an excellent show too. The fact I'm getting in free is just a binus. I would've gone either way. |

Thats what im thinking of doing. |
I'm might be getting a ticket to see that tour I just need a ride to Chicago, and I bet the tickets are sold out by now.

has anyone seen Senses Fail live? my friend has the Taste OF Chaos DVD and apparently they mime...
|
I saw them at Warped Tour and they were beyond awesome they had some live stuff on Let It Enfold You they had a little DVD that came with it and it sounds good. They have a Live DVD comming out with the re-release of Let It Enfold You. They also have them on MTV Overdrive if you want to hear them live.
|
I've seen them twice...once during the Taste Of Chaos Tour in Louisville with Blame It On Rio, A Change Of Pace and Emanuel..and again at Warped Tour in Cinci...both were great shows..
Personally LIEY is one of my favorite cd's in my collection; I can listen to it all the way through and never get bored. The EP is great but it isn't as good as the LP in my opinion but I got both CD's at the same time. Senses Fail is awesome, but the new "Deluxe" edition of LIEY was a major let down. The acoustics are nothing special and the I have the Tony Hawk American Wasteland CD so the song "Institutionalized" didn't benefit me at all. I have also seen the videos numerous times and you can watch them on sensesfail.com so that also was a useless "bonus". The concert footage is alright but nothing special... The new song "American Death" is also crap in my opinion. I hope the next CD doesnt include complete and underless garbage like that. When I think of Senses Fail I think of catchy riffs, catchy chorus' and occasional, perfectly placed screams. American Death is the complete opposite and Buddy is trying to do something which he isn't great at already...screaming... It may be fun for the live shows to show everyone how much he's getting into it but no one wants to listen to it constantly on a CD... So unless you dont have a copy of LIEY already, then don't waste your money buying the "deluxe" version. |
What did you think it was going to have pal? It's just a 'deluxe' edition re-release its not going to have a bunch of new material. I thought the acoustics were very nicely done. I think American Death is a very good song and Institutionalized is on the THAW soundtrack but why shouldn't they put that song on a CD they are releasing? I mean you can't expect an entire new CD out of them. I just can't wait for their new CD.
|
I think "American Death" is a great song. I'd love to see them do more songs like that one. Much better than anything else on the LP I think.
|
I used to like them until Buddy's voice started to annoy me and the lyrics started bugging me due to them being utter garbage. Aside from that, fun band.
/Waits for DepthsOfDreams to quote me and say "What are you talking about? Buddy is amazing. The vocals are great and so are the lyrics. No opinions in this thread, please." |
lawl, the lyrics are a bit gay.
