So just because a group of people started liking them doesn't mean they all of sudden became a bad band. You should still like the band regardless of who likes them.
he didn't say he didn't like them anymore because of that, douche

quick_death 09-17-2005 01:39 PM

i never said i liked them anyway.i've never really listend to them.couple of songs here and there

Special Brew 09-18-2005 01:20 AM
Deadwater Drowning is nuts. Definitely check them out.

Also, The End, Glass Casket, Ion Dissonance and Misery Index will probably make you happy. All are quite technical bands that are definitely core based, but with elements of death. All very technical and heavy.
Does Deadwater Drowning and The End have a Myspace? I can't find them, nor can I find stuff on Soulseek. I know and love Ion Dissonance and Glasscasket. I haven't looked into Misery Index yet.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 09-18-2005 01:21 AM

Glass Casket is awesome. About the bands you're looking for, search them on purevolume.

I doubt The End does, but they're not that great anyway.

Deadwater Drowning broke up before the rise of Myspace. They have an hxcmp3 page though.

Sorry but LOL. They are Technical Death Metal, how do they have any 'core' in them atall?

Also, All Shall Perish are alright, but the breakdowns are very annoying. Still pretty good for DM that came of America.

I searched the two that I said I couldn't find.
I have MI on SlSk.
What is your Soulseek name?

SubtleDagger 09-18-2005 11:22 AM

Glass Casket
Between The Buried And Me
The Red Chord
Ayat Akrass (Brazilian and a bit low-fi)
Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus
The Binary Code

A lot of old Converge seems to walk the deathcore line a bit too.

Special Brew 09-18-2005 11:38 AM

The Red Chord? I already love that band but I didn't think had much hardcore influence. I will check the others, unless I know them already. :p
Sorry but LOL. They are Technical Death Metal, how do they have any 'core' in them atall?
LOL

None of these bands being discussed have 'core' in them in the first place with the possible exception of Suffokate. BTM fit in just dandy with the bands being discussed.

Most of the others I mentioned are on MySpace.

I don't see any similarities between Beneath The Massacre and the bands discussed in here.

Everyone keeps suggestion straigh up death bands and such. I haven't heard anyone suggest anything even close to the bands I mentioned in the first post. Except SD had a couple from what I've heard so far.
Most of the others I mentioned are on MySpace.
I don't know how to search bands on Myspace. :(

RCVA 09-19-2005 11:36 AM

Go to Music then search.

Special Brew 09-19-2005 12:28 PM

Hah, I'm dumb. I found it, thanks. I don't really use Myspace often. :p

.Realm.of.Chaos. 09-19-2005 01:36 PM

I listened to Despised Icon this weekend. They weren't bad I guess I didn't buy it partially because I only had 20 bucks so I bought Chimaira - Imposibility of Reason

Special Brew 09-19-2005 02:15 PM

Chimaira blow.

Despised Icon rule.

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 03:13 PM
Everyone keeps suggestion straigh up death bands and such. I haven't heard anyone suggest anything even close to the bands I mentioned in the first post. Except SD had a couple from what I've heard so far.
Well truly there aren't many bands that actually do mix death metal and hardcore, and there's even fewer good ones. So yeah the majority of suggestions you're going to get is basically death with breakdowns. I would consider BTM death, but I would also consider Despised Icon and All Shall Perish predominantly death, so whatever.

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 03:15 PM

and here's DWD

They sound mostly death to me as well. I love this though.

Since there aren't very many bands such as STYG, I guess I will just have to make one.

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 04:16 PM
there aren't very many bands such as STYG
Thank God.

Special Brew 09-19-2005 04:33 PM

I love 'em. To each his own, I guess.

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 04:36 PM

I almost saw them on Friday but they got pwned.

Special Brew 09-19-2005 04:38 PM
I almost saw them on Friday but they got pwned.
By who?

All I know about the band is what I've seen/heard on their Myspace. I live three hours away from the closest hardcore scene.

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 04:41 PM

Idiots.

They were supposed to play right before Final Fight at this college student lounge show. Well, earlier in the show Final Fight asked STYG if they'd mind switching spots with them since they share members with Fortunate Son, who were set to play right before STYG. This way, things would be a lot easier and equipment wouldn't have to be moved and dismantled just to be put back a set later. That and FF traveled a bit of a distance to play, whereas STYG were from fairly close nearby.

Well, STYG agreed and was cool about it, but right after Final Fight played a fight broke out outside and the dude running it had to call the show off.

shane italian 09-19-2005 04:43 PM

It was those lame staff members. They are the only ones who could have called the cops...that or campus security.

And from what I hear, that kind of thing happens at EVERY show in south county.

Special Brew 09-19-2005 04:46 PM
Well, STYG agreed and was cool about it, but right after Final Fight played a fight broke out outside and the dude running it had to call the show off.
That sucks. :(

But just because a band loses a fight, shouldn't mean their music isn't as good. Do you know any details about the fight though?

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 04:46 PM

The last Saddleback show with FF, Fortunate Son, Make Move, and a couple others went off without a hitch.

shane italian 09-19-2005 04:47 PM

Oh, it really didn't have anything to do with the bands. The fight was outside between some dudes whos girlfriends had just gotten into a fight or something. Some guy tried to break it up and ended up having his nose broken. The show was called off, cops came, blah blah.

shane italian 09-19-2005 04:48 PM
The last Saddleback show with FF, Fortunate Son, Make Move, and a couple others went off without a hitch.
Well my friends just tell me those funny stories about the Pesticide...hahah.
That sucks. :(

Oh no, the band wasn't involved in the fight at all. I guess some girl started shit with some other girl, and it escalated to a 3 on 2 fight from there. One of the guys helping with the show tried to stop it and got attacked. He had to go into surgery for 5 hours.

No, I disliked STYG before any of this went down. I do feel bad for them about getting screwed though.

That is pure shit. Anyone that would ruin a show for everyone needs the hell beat of them. Especially one with FF and STYG.

Deathcore?

*rolls on the floor laughing*

That is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard.

BuddyBigsby 09-20-2005 09:30 PM

You're also 16, from Alabama, and go to the trouble of trying to prove yourself to an internet message board by making self-gratifying statements like "don't believe in genres". That's pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Lazybassplr56 09-20-2005 09:56 PM

I rember seeing a band in Ace Ventura but could never remember which band it was.

BuddyBigsby 09-20-2005 10:07 PM

Cannibal Corpse.
