Too many basses, too little money. The story of my life.

Current G.A.S. List:

Yamaha Attitude LTD II, Black, with a Kahler
Warwick Corvette $$
Tobias Growler
Spector Rex Brown, Blue Quilt
Warwick Hot Rod 4 string
MTD 435, Maple Burl/Blue
Alembic Brown Bass
Alembic Essence, Blue w/LEDs
Ritter Roya, Late Lounge finish and Ritter Trem
Yamaha BEX-BS
Michael Kelly acoustic

etc etc etc
The $$ and a Ritter Roya is on my list too... All I need is $8,000... :upset:

Oh yeah, and a Carvin frettless. So add another $1000 to that.

DesolationRow 07-18-2005 05:55 PM

LedZep, have you played the FNA Jazzman LTD corvette? That thing looks sick. The 5er that I played of the vette was nice, as was the thumb. I love Warwicks.

iAmCam 07-18-2005 10:26 PM
You both suck....

At first, I thought Warwicks were one of the greatest things ever. Then I saw the price and it changed my mind a little. Then I met the Corvette, and hey, it looked well... ok, kinda bland.

Then I saw Led_Zeppelin678's video solo... and sorry, but I didn't liked the sound out of it. I know he at least knows some **** about his bass and would know how to use it.

They aren't in my "Me Wannit" list.
Someone lead me to Led_Zeppelin678's video please...

my future warwick, 5 string fretless corvette
Someone lead me to Led_Zeppelin678's video please...
I'd have to upload it to yousendit, but the audio is on my soundclick:

Titties_n_Beer 07-20-2005 05:07 AM

i wish they made a corvette $$ fretless lol... i'd buy it in a snap.

Wintermute 07-20-2005 05:24 AM

You could defret it - or more wisely with an instrument of that value, pay a professional to defret it for you. It would cost, yes, but not THAT much.
i wish they made a corvette $$ fretless lol... i'd buy it in a snap.
It's a free upgrade on all Warwicks, with an ebony fretboard. Lines are an extra $150.
^^ Megaman X ;).

I can never beat Sigma...
Sigma's final form is weak against the Rolling Shield, the weapon you get from Armored Armadillo.

Good luck. :thumb:

I've beaten that game probably about...700 times.

Hey guys, I've been talking to my Aussie Warwick distributor about the new LTD Corvette 'Hot Rod'. It's AU$3699, which is nearly a grand more than I thought it would be compared to the US and UK prices, but oh well. I'm wondering if anyone has got one of these bad boys or played one, and if the dual P pickups are a good setup or not?

It sure as hell is one sexy bass though!!

Led_Zeppelin678 08-19-2005 01:41 AM

I really want one...it'd be great as a contrast to my 'vette...but I don't have any money at the moment.

wickedstylez 08-19-2005 01:55 AM

Nice lookin vette. tomorrow (hopefully) my $$ should arrive at GC and i should get the call to come pick it up..only thing that sucks is i gotta trade my vette back in for the $$..my vette sounds awesome with my band (we play metal). hopefully the $$ won't disappoint me.

sirphilby 08-19-2005 08:52 PM

ive gotta a corvette 5 string nd i pretty much agree with everything said here. the electronics definetly need changing but everything else is just beautiful.

Klander Brigade 08-19-2005 09:33 PM

Just seeing that makes me wanna go to the music shop and start jammin

Worrpigs 08-19-2005 10:04 PM

excuse me? why would you switch out MEC active pickups on purpose. IMO EMG's arent even on the same scale, the only other thing i could think of is Bartolini.

Led_Zeppelin678 08-19-2005 10:39 PM

You mispelt Ron Burdandy.

And no, MEC is only used by Warwick because it's German and thus much cheaper.

wickedstylez 08-20-2005 12:20 AM

****it, my $$ still hasn't arrived. fockers.

scranton531 09-01-2005 01:49 PM

I've sold at least 15 corvettes this year on ebay so there must be somthing good about them, plus the cost issue is because they're from germany. They go through warwick, to dnan b. goods, then to dealers so the price keeps goin up. Plus bubinga isn't cheap wood.

For quality, owned a 6 and play the 4 and 5 along with every other warwick in production plus about 200 other basses, and the vettes are a lot of bass and quality for their cost.

Compare to the cost of an emerican fender (which is total sh** for the money) warwicks are resonable.

Led_Zeppelin678 09-11-2005 02:01 PM

I concur.

Crudd-Bucket™ 09-12-2005 05:33 AM

Those new rock basses are anus

Chris K 09-13-2005 02:05 AM
Those new rock basses are anus
to me, Rockbass equals cockbass full stop.

Led_Zeppelin678 09-16-2005 12:42 AM

I tried a flame maple (natural) that was a special edition or something, and the action was actually really good. Didn't bother plugging it in, though.

Chris K 09-16-2005 03:49 AM

And without the plug in test, we will never know the actual quality!

d-1 09-18-2005 08:11 AM

Nice review man

1-D 09-25-2005 01:27 PM

Good revuew im gasing for one of those ;D
Electronics: 6/10

They're not going to catch on fire or anything, but MEC kinda blows. How about switching to DiMarzio, or at least Seymour Duncan?
Instead of just saying "MEC blows", care to explain what it is you don't like about them?

Chris K 10-10-2005 03:48 PM
Instead of just saying "MEC blows", care to explain what it is you don't like about them?
people are always bashing MEC, I like them!

LewsTherin 10-10-2005 04:27 PM
people are always bashing MEC, I like them!
thats makes 3 of us then (me, you, and worrpigs).

Id still like to know why people hate them so much.

Rawb 10-12-2005 07:18 PM
but MEC kinda blows
wtf? what do you mean "blows"? like totaly fckin blows like a speaker, or totaly fckin sucks?

Alma 10-13-2005 06:09 AM

^ that they aren't very good...

twopelu 10-13-2005 08:22 AM

^ I think so... I would change mines.

Led_Zeppelin678 10-13-2005 08:31 AM

I'd like to get another brand of pickups for two reasons:

Hum cancelling.
Better tone.

wardrobe malfunction 10-13-2005 09:45 AM

I have the 5 string Model and highly recommend it. It's a fantastic instrument.

bassmancrv 10-18-2005 07:45 PM

ive got the 4 string one.. and i dunno i personally love mecs.. there great

warwicks are definatly the best bass out there IMO and someone a while back said vettes are expensive.. you can get a used one for like $600.. for the quality these things offer.. its DEFINATLY worth it.. i would pay over 1000 for mine.. im in love with it

Rawb 10-18-2005 11:47 PM

i am two gigs and $150 away from getting one of these. i can't wait.

so the mec blows, i think a sans amp would help. maybe not totaly fix the problem, but it would help a bit.

Led_Zeppelin678 10-20-2005 01:53 PM

I'm putting some Seymour Duncan Hot Jazz pups (passive with high output) in my baby ASAP, probably for Christmas or something.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Worrpigs 10-20-2005 02:44 PM

i dont know why whenever someone brings up warwick, everybody has to be a dick and say oh MEC blows. and i love how nobody justifies their reasoning.

Machines 10-20-2005 03:43 PM

I've never played a Warwick and been anything other than overwhelmed.
