Can't we let T.Rex in a little bit? :( Sad face.

I don't think you can not like Motley Crue or Twisted Sister really.

DISCLAIMER: The above was a massive generalisation to put forward my point of veiw on the bands. I do not need two word posts saying "I don't."

Thank you. *bows and leaves*

highwaychild377 04-25-2005 11:18 PM

hair metal is awesome, and motley crue is touring this summer. :thumb: also, is ozzy considered hair metal? i dont care, but thats what some black/death metalheads have told me. (personally i hate black metal, death metal, gore metal, etc. its all about power metal and glam/hair metal (though many would disagree). i dont care. george lynch forever!

highwaychild377 04-25-2005 11:19 PM

i shall definitly be back to this thread. i bid you all a good night :chug:

Glitterati 04-25-2005 11:24 PM

How can someone not like "We're Not Gonna Take It?":lol::lol:

Also, Alice Cooper is one of my favorites (check out "Feed My Frankenstein" ). I hardly see him mentioned here, though. I made a thread about him a while back, but it barely got noticed.

ATM 04-25-2005 11:26 PM

Alice Cooper is great. My favorite song by him is Welcome To My Nightmare.

Leper 04-25-2005 11:47 PM

my favourite Alice Cooper song is Hello, Hooray. Kind of different from his usual sound, but i love it.

x_Evilized_x 04-26-2005 05:31 PM

blue3 04-26-2005 05:34 PM

GNR is in it and they're not really glam, but oh well.

Mick Mars is the guitarist and Nikki Sixx the bassist.

Anyways I like Skid Row the most out of these bands here although I don't consider them glam metal and Twisted Sister I think isn't really glam metal eather but they kick some ***. Steelheart is a pretty good glam band.
Here's my dream lineup.
Vocals: Sebastian Bach/Dee Snider
Lead: Eddie Van Halen/Slash
Rythm: Snake Sabo
Bass: Duff Mckagan/Rachel Bolan
Drums: Steven Adler/Matt Sorum

New York Dolls are the best glam rock band ever. How could you not put them in that first list?

Glitterati 04-26-2005 06:21 PM
New York Dolls are the best glam rock band ever. How could you not put them in that first list?
I wouldn't agree completely, but I'd say that's pretty accurate. Johnny Thunders > us all.

And I did suggest them later on.

highwaychild377 04-26-2005 07:09 PM

yea, this kind of turned into a hair metal thread, but they are both closely related. glam is more like david bowie, new york dolls, etc. but still, both genres dont get enough attention.

blue3 04-26-2005 07:12 PM

I like Johnny Thunders.. You Can't Put Your Arms Round a Memory was playing a few minutes ago

glaiven 04-26-2005 07:14 PM

stryper is christian! you don't preach the bible in glam. they give a bad name to metal.
I misspelt the title, it was supposed to be The Glam/Hair Metal Thread

If you want to talk about Bowie or T Rex get your own thread.

But the Dolls own, they can stay.
geezerbasser21370 04-27-2005 07:09 AM

an amazing hair metal band would be.......
john bon jovi-vocals
kip winger/george lynch -Rythm
Rhandy Rhoads- Lead
nikki sixx- bass
eric singer- drums
can't tell me that wouldn't rock hard in dolby digital surround sound

Jon 04-27-2005 11:55 AM

Heh, that would be sweet.

So now we need more discussion of modern glam. Like Rachel Stamp, SPiT LiKE THiS and the Renegade Playboys

No, Ozzy is heavy metal..i wouldn't call him hair metal! lol..The hair metal was neevr as good as the original glam rock movement..I mean I love Bon Jovi, and Motley Crue are good, howeve rthey don't comapre to Queen, T-rex or Alice!!

I like the New York Dolls too, they do indeed rock!!

Jon 04-27-2005 01:09 PM

Metallifan85 04-27-2005 04:09 PM

I love Skid Row and Warrant, epitome of hair metal imo. I wouldn't call them glam metal though.
the best glam rock band was motley crue. and they weren't very good.
I never thought I would tell an Aerosmith fan they suck, but....You suck.

It's all about Crue, they rule. I've been listening to them so much lately.

ultimaterocker 05-01-2005 11:09 AM

Jon 05-01-2005 04:48 PM

18 and Life is awesome (though I've just realised I don't have it on this computer). Wanted Dead or Alive I never liked that much, despite a ska cover of it.

Jon 05-02-2005 06:05 AM

I prefer You're All I Need to Home Sweet Home.

Just...better.

brb need to put Skid Row s/t on again

Im sorry my comment came out a bit to blunt i own 2 motley crue cd's and i believe they are by far the best band of the glam rock genre but compared to bands liek aerosmith and zepplin and the who they are average.

blue3 05-02-2005 10:45 PM

It's Zeppelin.

Anyways, I've been listening to Skid Row a lot lately. Big Guns and 18 and Life are great songs.

Glitterati 05-02-2005 10:50 PM
