^^you should give them a try. I personally don't think they're all that bad. Not the best out there yet somewhat different from everything else that is going around nowadays. I have their album and I think it's pretty decent.
which album do you recommend I get first?
They only have one album out..."Here Come The Brides"
Ginger wrote, I think, 6 songs with the Brides, which should make the album, so that'll be something to listen for, but I don't like the Brides too much. I hate London and Tracii, and now that Nikki and Ginger have left, there's nothing that interests me.
The Wildhearts are wonderful, though, someone should do a full FA on them some time. If I had time I would, I may in future if I need to avoid studying for my exams, or perhaps Bartender might. |
I'm REALLY digging Vanilla Radio
Thanks for the mp3's |

Whenever I'm asked for a favourite track, Everlone is the first to come to mind. It's then very quickly followed by Sky Babies, Loveshit, Show a Little Emotion, Suckerpunch, Sky Chaser High, Geordie in Wonderland, Splattermania, OCD, Vanilla Radio, Greetings From Shitsville, Nothing Ever Changes But the Shoes, Do the Channel Bop..basically I don't know :) And yeah, I do have the newest live album (several people here do, I think), and yes, it is rather good. Did anyone see them live when Vanilla Radio was still a fresh, new track? I saw them at a festival in 2002, and they had a midget dressed as Elvis running around all day*. It was awesome. *followed by a camera; I think they were filming for the Vanilla Radio video. |
MXican, do you know where I could get The Wildhearts Strike Back?
allmusic.com couldn't even find it in their database.
CDWow |
www.cdwow.co.uk
He is American though and I am guessing he doesn't want to spend a fortune in delivery |
Delivery is free.
To all over the world? That is quite unbelievable
Yeah, they ship from Korea or somewhere out there, so shipping is the same everywhere.

I like all the songs I've heard. I can't pick a favorite. /bumpz0r'd |

That is pretty friggin' impressive and yes EVH all there songs are brilliant |
I'm not that familiar with the Wildhearts but I like what I've heard. My favourite songs are Vanilla Radio, Suckerpunch and Caffeine Bomb. And they come from about 10 miles where I live. :thumb:
Partly as un upload for MXican, partly as a bump, and partly in wondering if anyone else likes any of The Wildhearts' members' other bands, here's a few songs by Ginger's 'main' project while the Wildhearts were broken up. I know magik likes them, at least.

Good work, and good band :)
I don't suppose you could upload some Clam Abuse stuff for me, if you have the time? |
I love you man, those songs are amazing :thumb:
You're welcome :)
Good work, and good band :) I don't suppose you could upload some Clam Abuse stuff for me, if you have the time?
Yep, sure. Just give me a bit of time and I'll upload a few for you. In the meantime, here's an upload of a promo video for Sonic Shake. Sonic Shake promo video Kinda pointless, but I just rediscovered it hiding on my computer a couple of days ago, and it has a nice story behind it, so I kind of feel I have to upload it. The sound's a bit murky, but it's only 8.5MB. |
Okay, here's some Clam Abuse. Beware though, it's very weird stuff :) Two of these tracks don't feature either of the two collaborators on vocals, either, so don't be surprised.
Clam Abuse - Message to Geri (yes, that Geri) Clam Abuse - Unlucky in Love Clam Abuse - Sunday Driving on a Thursday Afternoon Clam Abuse - Barney Sings the Blues Those four are on the album (incidentally, two of them don't feature either of the two collaborators on vocals, so don't think I've uploaded the wrong thing - hopefully I haven't); this last one is a remix of one of the album tracks (which I prefer to the album version) which appeared on an Infernal Records sampler. Cheers :)
I dowloaded the Clam Abuse ones but am listening to Silverginer 5 at the moment :). Will update you with opinions later
No problem, just glad they're getting some downloads :) (and that I'm again able to upload them, naturally).
Well they were...interesting
Hah. Told you they were odd. I quite like the album, actually, but it's far from being any of the best stuff he (Ginger) has been involved in.
Meh, it was alright. No where near as good as siliverginger 5 or The Wildhearts
I really like Clam abuse. They're not as good as Super shit 666, though :)
I haven't heard Super shit 666 :(
Tracks uploaded by Bartender:

Those guys sound pretty friggin' cool. Oh so many new bands to check out just spawned by this thread :(
Well, Ginger is a busy man.
Can you name some more projects he is involved with please :)
I've only heard of Silverginger 5, which I only just realised is a Ginger side project , and also the solo stuff "Ginger" with the album "Break In The Weather."
Can you name some more projects he is involved with please :)
Not sure if there's all that much left to mention (including what the posts above me have said). Before The Wildhearts he spent some time in the Quireboys, but I don't know if he got around to recording anything with them. And he wrote the majority of a song on the Backyard Babies album Making Enemies is Good. Other than that, I don't think I know anything more that Ginger's directly involved in. |
