I love what I have heard from cryptopsy but sadly I have not heard much.

ThePanicInNeedlePark 07-04-2005 04:57 PM

i cant find the new track.....

MAthiAS 07-04-2005 05:00 PM

They are awesome, Flo is the best drummer I've ever heard (cept maybe the dude from Mithras)

LeperAffinity 07-04-2005 05:01 PM

The track is called Carrionshine, and be warned, this is pre-production, so this isn't the final mix.

kill'emall4one83 07-04-2005 05:05 PM

I've heard about two songs by them. I can not stand the way that guy screams. But the music is Ok.

I love Cryptopsy, but Lord Worm is one of my favorite musicians to make fun of, despite my enjoyment of his vocals.

Especially some of the vocals in Open Face Surgery. Where it sounds like he's almost barking sort of.

ThePanicInNeedlePark 07-04-2005 05:28 PM

THIS TRACK IS AWSOME! that harmonic break is well good, the vocals dont sound alot better then Mike though...

Trust me, if you haven't heard Lord Worm before, Lord Worm > the other guy.
Go listen to Phobophile and tell me the other guy is better :p

Bartender 07-04-2005 05:59 PM
what did he say?

Well Lord Worm's vocals have been a huge turn off for me but after seeing everyone's reaction and Berner's pictures/thread I'd better try them again.
Well it's been a while since I read it now, but I think the bits that stood out were that Flo had started utilising "double blastbeats" (however that works) and broken his old personal best performance, and that Lord Worm himself has a track with a scream 50% longer again than the Open Face Surgery one. Something like that, I think.

:D

I can't wait to hear it, this scream will be worth the £12 on it's own.

iliketoplaydrums10111 07-04-2005 06:42 PM

I can't wait for the new album, I'm going to see them live in October sometime

Berner 07-04-2005 06:57 PM

Actually Jake (their sound guy who I chat with regularly) said that the scream you are referring to is going to be a minute or more.

Magicaltroll 07-04-2005 06:58 PM

So is there any release date yet?

Berner 07-04-2005 06:59 PM

They're still recording as far as I know. Jake hasn't been around the studio much lately due to other commitments.

Magicaltroll 07-04-2005 07:00 PM

Oh, well, I've heard rumors about end of the year-ish. That'd be very cool if thats when it came out.

PeEpHoLe_10 07-04-2005 07:07 PM

Im just starting to get into Cryptopsy. The music is great, and insane but im still trying to get used to the vocals.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-04-2005 07:10 PM

Haven't heard them. Any uploads?

Lateralias 07-04-2005 07:13 PM

Flo Mournier is an insane and awesome drummer! Other than him I wouldn't listen to Cryptopsy, well maybe just for fun..

strat 07-04-2005 07:46 PM

Just downloaded a bunch of songs, having never actually listened to them before....

Awesome stuff :thumb:

Phobophile 07-04-2005 08:33 PM

If you really want to hear some overproduced drums listen to Krisiun.Althougth they and Cryptopsy both rule imo.

BoboTheRagingHobo 07-04-2005 08:44 PM

Ha I have heard Lord Worm before, I just think on that demo he isnt far of Mike Disalvio, it just prooves how produced his vocals must be

LeperAffinity 07-05-2005 05:24 PM

Cephalic Carnage dropped off the tour a few weeks ago.

trev913 07-05-2005 06:18 PM

The one song I heard I liked.

extreme_191 07-05-2005 07:47 PM

How does a double blast beat work? I mean I'm not a drummer, but that term stops me in my tracks.

RetiredAt21 07-05-2005 07:58 PM

I'd like to hear this double blast beat.

eXykO 07-05-2005 08:06 PM

Yeah!! i love it i go at a after show party with them i hava backstage at every show i want and at halloween at rouyn noranda --->DEICIDE !! :D and many others

CabbageStabbage 07-05-2005 08:18 PM
I can't wait for this concert.

Cryptopsy, Aborted, Suffication and Cephalic Carnage.
Where I live, it's gonna be Cryptopsy, Aborted, Suffocation, Vader and Despised Icon.

Cryptopsy is amazing. Lord Worm is the best death metal vocalist.

Bazarov 07-05-2005 08:24 PM

Oh man! I'd cream myself if I went to that concert.

impaled 07-05-2005 09:24 PM

The double blastbeat is actually a one-hand roll or gravityblast, used quite commonly by most extreme brutal deathmetal bands. Such as origin, brodequin etc.
Here's a link of Johnny Rabb showing the one-hand roll technique.
http://www.tigerbill.com/media/Rabb2.wmv

So what Lord Worm meant was the gravityblast, which I think Flo has confirmed in some interviews.
