^^^Can you recommed a good ROOTS cd?
Check out danny carey of tool, peart of rush, chad smith of rhcp, tomas haake of meshuggah, john bonham of led zep, bill ward of black sabbath, martin lopez of opeth, gene hoglan of death, dave lombardo of slayer fame.
Things Fall Apart is amazing. Phrenology Is just about there second best. and than The Tipping Point. I actually like the Tipping Point, but that's how it sort of goes in terms of hiarchy. Than theres there older stuff such as Do You want More and Illidelph Halflife, but they didn't go anywhere until TFA. But if you want, Questlove composed like a mix tape thing. Called "Home Grown. Guide to the Roots" Or something. It comes in two volumes, I have volume 1. It has a little bit of everything, and than with volume 2. I find the Roots Live CD also very entertaining. Questlove does a better job playing Live IMO. I'm such a whore, I can't choose. I probably didn't help. You can PM me or something if you need more help. |
Play some 311... Chad Sexton is a very rudimental drummer with some intracat (sp?) beats...
|
John Dolmayan of System of a Down. He kicks ***!

its old, like buddy rich, check out Gene Krupa, especially his part in "Sing Sing Sing"
with Benny Goodman, especially if you are up fot trying a little bit of a swingy tune, tough solos by this man though check this site out http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/GENE_KRUPA.html |
Carl Palmer.
Travis is NOT a good drummer.
Thomas Lang/Terry Bozzio FTW. If you can play through a whole Bozzio solo perfectly, then i will yeild. Also your name is retarded. You cannot like punk and emo. Both scenes detest each other.
Travis Barker is decent, you can't say he is a BAD drummer, because that's not true, but he is extremely over rated. Anyways, I suggest Josh Freese, Bud Gaugh of Sublime, Tommy Lee (any old school Crue songs) Josh Eppard of Coheed and Cambria and if you want a real challenge, Stewart Copeland, from the Police. |
Just play what you like. If its too easy change it up. Keep the basic ideas the same but change accents/bass drum patterns/ghost notes etc.

john bonham-led zep
