El_Shiznit 01-04-2005 03:24 PM

You heard wrong.

poprocks&coke 01-04-2005 03:37 PM

He speaks the truth.

El_Shiznit 01-04-2005 08:13 PM

Maybe I'm behind, but I recently heard their cover of the Misfits' "Halloween". I must say that is the ultimate version of that song. There is no way that song can be done better than the way they did it.

And this is coming from a die-hard AFI fan, so you know I'm telling the truth.
February the new album comes out.
nope, was GOING to be feb. but because matt broke his han they had to push it back to sometime this spring.

AndrewSweetBassist 01-04-2005 08:19 PM
Dan was second basssist, he was in like after there first ep and hes been in ever since. i think round about from here to infirmary, they went through drummer hell, got another drummer , then derek grant joined in time for good mourning. he isnt on from here to infirmary i think
he joined like a week before they went in a record the split with hot water music. he's a **** good drummer though. he had a lot of really good drum licks in the suicide machines.

BondageBoyo666 01-04-2005 08:28 PM

From Here to Infirmary is definitely the best of the albums and You're Dead and Private Eye are my favorite songs (on another note I read someone saying their bassist was **** good and agreed hes good but lets not blow his skill out of proportion)

MattSharpIsCool 01-04-2005 08:29 PM

They're one of my favorite bands....however, I'm not sure if I can really say that, because I'll admit I dont have any of their CD's.

I always mean to buy at least one and I forget. But I am going to soon. Favorite songs would have to be:

Radio
Crawl
Another Innocent Girl
Exploding Boy
Queen Of Pain
Private Eye
Stupid Kid
We've Had Enough

ZaaR 01-04-2005 08:32 PM

Good band.

I think that was released on limited edition vinyl or something. I'm not positive, but that's what I think they did. It was pretty recent though (well 2004). I wish I could hear it, but I've only heard of it.

El_Shiznit 01-04-2005 10:54 PM

I've got it on soulseek. If you want me to send it to you, just ask.

TheBassicBassist 01-05-2005 11:32 AM
try and listen to this could be love, private eye and crawl, and armageddon

Buy Goddammit!
thirdeyeblindislit 01-05-2005 07:18 PM
Either From here to Infirmary or Maybe I'll catch fire :thumb:
All Alkaline Trio songs are great but Maybe I'll Catch fire is really good. I like God dammit or their Self titled. Or good mourning. They are all so good! :thumb:
They are all so good! :thumb:
Yeah, just buy em all

Agent_Orange 01-06-2005 09:50 AM

They were the main band that got me into punk rock or pop punk whatever

Noize 01-06-2005 12:52 PM

How good do people think Dan Andriano is at bass. Apparently, all in black has an excellant bassline. I think hes a good bassist, considering he sings and the type of music he plays. any more views?

roofee() 01-06-2005 06:50 PM

The bass after the chorus is pretty good.

thirdeyeblindislit 01-06-2005 08:16 PM

Has anybody heard Matt Skiba's single song "good fu*cking bye?" It is a song, that you hear once, and it becomes your theme song.

sparkylp2002 01-06-2005 08:35 PM

I love alkaline trio, just look at my avatar. Favorite album Goddammit.
Favorite songs:
pretty much anything on the first album.
Radio
Bleeder
and there are many others.

Pazz 01-06-2005 08:50 PM

I started listening to them in the summer. Got hooked and I listen to them all the time. It took a while until I could get money and finally buy one of their cds( i bought from here to infirmery last week). I have listened to it so many times. I'm listening to it right now. Stupid kid!!

thirdeyeblindislit 01-06-2005 10:31 PM

I still dont think anybody has heard good fu*cking bye by matt skiba. You guys should listen to it if you never had before.

I think he's awesome, he combines root note and fills really well. I find it hard to hear the bass on alot of Alkaline Trio songs though...

Agent_Orange 01-07-2005 10:04 AM

Yeah, thats the only thing I hated when I played bass in my band. We liked to play a lot of AT songs then.

Agent_Orange 01-07-2005 10:13 AM

I finally got the album Good Mourning yesterday, and if I may say so, it was beautiful. they are so good, I am still in love with the song Blue In The Face, it is amazing. they are really good and I am glad that I got the album

thirdeyeblindislit 01-09-2005 05:31 PM

If you liked that, you will fall in love with their other albums. :thumb:

TMA 01-09-2005 06:20 PM

Of course I've only ever heard (and recognized) We've Had Enough, but I really enjoyed it.
I saw them at last years Warped Tour and really enjoyed it. I just didn't know any of ther other songs.
But I'm looking forward to the new release in '05.

Oh, I plan to

poprocks&coke 01-10-2005 02:59 PM

does anyone know when they're next doing a tour? someone said they would be doing one this year but im wondering... would it be after church and destroy?

chumpradio 01-10-2005 03:04 PM

They will probably tour USA for a while after Church And Destroy, and will either come to Europe, or they may go to Japan, and then Australia before they tour Europe.
It could be any time before Autumn I guess.

TheBassicBassist 01-18-2005 06:36 AM

one thing that I love about their music is how violent yet still happy it is for example they sing the following lyrics like they are running through rainbows in heaven, yet they are very violent lyrics:

Step one - Slit my throat
Step two - Play in my blood
Step three - Cover me in dirty sheats and run laughing out of the house
Step four - Stop by Lake Michigan and rinse your crimson hands
You took me hostage and made your demands, I couldn't meet them so you cut off my fingers....one by one.

I think it is cool, but what do you think?

pixiesfanyo 01-18-2005 06:39 AM

Alk3 sucks in concert. I wasted money on them, and they are just horriblely bland.

simplephotographinthesun 01-18-2005 08:40 AM

my said told me alkaline trio was the **** about 2 years ago, i downloaded radio and thought it was alright...fast forward to a year later, i downloaded "you've got so far to go" and the rest is history...
