I know, but have you lived in Canada? The government is corrupt as hell, and the pollution is terrible (especially where I live).
No seriously, it's no comparison. The Phillipines is a third world country.

And I live near L.A. so I know all about pollution. ;)

Lowend 09-01-2004 04:43 PM

i'm a week into my freshman year of college. and it's fun stuff.

i have a cold :upset:

RIPJoeStrummer 09-01-2004 05:33 PM

I start at a new school tommorrow. Normally I'd be a little bit nervous and excited, but this year I really have nothing to look forward to. My school is full of idiots, there are only about 400 kids and I live in the "ghetto" part of town so it's pretty much 90% ghetto kids. On the bright side, there's a slight chance I just might meet someone new that I don't utterly hate. If I dont' then oh well, it'll just be the same as always and I'll be getting this high school crap over with.

Happymeal 09-01-2004 07:44 PM
Wait, you moved to Canada to avoid a corrupt government and pollution? Sorry man, but you ay have messed up there.
Sort of.. my parents didn't wanna work there anymore. I understand why you first-worlders think it's terrible there. It is really, considering what's been going on there for the past few years(we had an actor for a president, 2 years in his term we kicked him out. Go figure) but I still miss it..:upset: I lived there all my life dammit! And I won't probably like winter here in Ontario. Oh well, 2 years to go..

Pollution's even worse there. But my lungs are used to it. 16 years of experience. Haha:p

BillCosby 09-01-2004 08:06 PM

I got perm banned. :(

*sweetjane* 09-01-2004 09:12 PM

f*ck talking about school. i'm in love with a gutter punk that lives on the other side of the river (i live in kansas city, mo, and the mo river runs through the center of our city) and can only see him by chance, on weekends. even then, there's that whole issue of being at the right place at the right time, because he doesn't have a phone, and rides his bike everywhere. f*ck. also, the filling in my tooth fell out today. i was eating a heath bar, and it just f*cking crumbled out.

Wanker 09-01-2004 09:29 PM

i leave for college in 2 days. twill be fun (even though i'll be a freshman :upset: )

br3ad_man 09-02-2004 01:17 AM

I'm still having a bit of girl trouble but my obsession with her is passing and I'll still like her after it does, but I'll actually be able to live when she's not around.

twistinside 09-02-2004 01:54 AM

i feel heaps un-motivated about school
which sucks cos soon assessments are going to count
:(

The Ashtray Girl 09-02-2004 05:39 AM

Meh... I feel kinda crap at the moment because tomorrow I'm meeting my girlfriend for the first time in five weeks and it's only to break up with her.

[/L&R thread]

guitarbaz 09-02-2004 05:49 AM

hmmm...i don't like my work and want to get another job up in newcastle or edinburgh to be back near my family and mates.
but then i'm in a great band and really love playing where i'm living at the minute.

ah....what do ya do eh?? decisions...

Happymeal 09-02-2004 07:14 AM

^(guitarbaz) Did you think of moving with your band(which seems kinda hard for you)? Otherwise, you have to make some sacrifices I guess..

guitarbaz 09-02-2004 07:19 AM
^(guitarbaz) Did you think of moving with your band(which seems kinda hard for you)? Otherwise, you have to make some sacrifices I guess..
nah, they won't move just for the band. on the bright side, if i do move it'll be to a much bigger city with hopefully more musical opportunities. we'd still do a few "re-union" gigs anyways i guess.
it's a sacrifice i'm resigned to having to make at some stage tho... :upset:

At least you have the right idea about actor presidents (Reagan..cough cough). And no, you won't like the winter. In Nova Scotia we got a meter of snow in March, and the climate is pretty similar.

Happymeal 09-02-2004 07:36 AM

Are you kidding? That actor president didn't even finished high school! He even got kicked out in the school I used to study in. *disgrace* The masses easily get swayed by actors.. which is a pity..

I'm used to the heat. In the Philippines the lowest temp's 18 degrees! I don't like cold places.. I guess I just have to get used to it.:upset:

That's my point. Actor presidents suck. I hate Reagan.

And yeah, you might find yourself spending the next couple months freezing till you get used to it. Temperature here sinks to like -30.

KappaKid17 09-02-2004 07:53 AM

Two classes today, soccer practice, then my girlfriend (who lives 2 hours away) will be here!

Oh, 18oC is considord quite warm here, to say top temp of the year is about 25-29 :thumb:

Happymeal 09-02-2004 02:34 PM

Yeah, I know, 18oC here is "warm". Back home the top temp can go up to 39oC! You'll get your skin fried if you stay outdoors for a long time. But we used to go to the beach during Christmas vacation, that's cool.

TaxPayer 09-02-2004 02:51 PM
In farenhieght(sp) or celeious(sp) though
You really butchered those two words didn't you?

Um, I've just started a new school. I'm in a mixed 6th Form in a girls school and it's the SHIHAT! It's great really. I've probably met more new people in these first one and a bit days than in five whole years at a boys grammar school. Most guys are so boring, I don't even feel the need to talk to them. Anyway, the new school's good. But I need some new strings for my guitar.

AfroMan 09-03-2004 07:43 AM

Phew.....just finished my review of "Vitalogy" by Pearl Jam.

Check it out ;)

Tapeworm 09-03-2004 08:30 AM

My new band had it's first jam today. Things are going very well.

Happymeal 09-03-2004 09:30 AM

I'd like to have form band someday(I still have to improve my guitar playing, erg) with my friends back home.. I miss 'em..

(out of place but) You guys know any good guitar lessons website where I can start from scratch(with notations and all)? I've been playing for 3 years now but I can't seem to get any better.:p The Guitar forum here doesn't help either..

School's gonna start in 4 days! I'm very excited! And nervous!!!

Wanker 09-03-2004 01:34 PM

gahhh! i'm moving to college tommorow, and i'm still packing. i'm just afraid that i'm bringing TOO much stuff.

RollerQueen 09-03-2004 01:50 PM
