Strummer and his friend actor/filmmaker Dick Rude had initially planned to make a film about the release of 2001's Global a Go-Go. Rude filmed Strummer's promotional efforts for the record including a fall 2002 tour in Japan. The footage has been made into a film titled Let's Rock Again!. Strummer's passing early in post-production sidelined the film until now, but Rude told Rolling Stone in an interview that he forced himself to stay true to the original concept. "It was suggested that I should do something retrospective... But I thought that would be wrong, because it's not what we set out to do." You can find the full interview at Rolling Stone. The Git who killed The Git is convicted! Thursday morning a jury in a Seattle court convicted Jesus Mezquia of first degree murder in the 1993 death of punk singer Mia Zapata. Zapata was 27 at the time and fronting up and coming Seattle punk band The Gits. On July 7th 1993, after returning from a successful tour of the US west coast Zapata was beaten, raped and strangled, with her body was dumped in an alley in Seattle's Central Area. Police arrested Mezquia, 48, in Florida in 2002. DNA evidence linked him to the killing. No sentencing date has been set at this time. The killing spurred the creation of the Home Alive anti-violence/pro-self-defense organization, as well as the band Evil Stig, which was the surviving members of The Gits fronted by Joan Jett. Alternative Tentacles artists like Jello Biafra and Zen Guerilla donated tracks to various Home Alive compilations over the years. We're all very happy that the person responsible for this murder has been convicted and hope that similar violent, hateful crimes happen less and less in the future. A Thorn For Every Label A Thorn For Every Heart has signed to Kickball / Interscope Records. They announced it on their website last night. They will hit the studio in May to start tracking for the new record. Also, they will be on tour with Moments In Grace and From First To Last on their way to Skate And Surf Fest. After that the Warped Tour Kick Off with Taking Back Sunday at House Of Blues then into the studio eying a 2005 release. VGS one man down Voodoo Glow Skulls have updated their website with news that Mason has left the band. His father has been ill so he's returned home to stay with his family. The band is looking for new horn players and you can email them if you're interested in the gig. Original VGS trumpeter Joe McNally recently played some shows with the band prior to in-progress Mexican tour with Los Kung Fu Monkeys. Voodoo Glow Skulls have a new full length scheduled in September or October on Victory Records. Taking Back Sunday recording Taking Back Sunday and Victory Records are pleased to announce that a July 2004 release is planned for their sophomore album. After spending the early part of the year writing and arranging their new songs, some of which were written while on their previous tour and some newly penned, they signed Lou Giordano on as producer. Famous for his work with Sugar, Husker Du, Sunny Day Real Estate and Belly, Giordano’s innovative spirit, tremendous experience and faith in the band won them over and created an electric work environment in the studio. Guitarist and founding member Eddie Reyes adds “recording with Lou is like being in school again because he is a teacher and you learn so much from him. “The new album is still very Taking Back Sunday but more mature and more rock and roll, continues Reyes. “I know every band says that but for real, it’ll kick you in the balls. The first record was written for fun and the love of music, no expectations. Even though it’s done more than we ever expected, I still tried to go into the second record the same exact way. We’re all here to have fun, hopefully the audience will enjoy it and feel the same way. Giordano adds “This was one of the most enjoyable recording experiences I've ever had. It amazes me that these guys were able to bring together such diverse musical backgrounds and form a cohesive vision that not only meets but surpasses their previous efforts. There's a wide variety of song styles, some with the signature Taking Back Sunday sound and some heading in totally new directions. It’s an honor to work with these guys on one of the most anticipated albums of 2004. After wrapping up recording on the east coast some time in April, Taking Back Sunday will headline this year’s annual sold-out Skate and Surf Festival in New Jersey on April 17 before starting a month of dates supporting Blink-182 and Cypress Hill throughout May. Next they head to the UK for their first trip outside North America to play the Donnington Download Festival with Metallica and continue on a string of soon to be sold-out headlining dates including two shows at London’s legendary Astoria. The band then returns to the US as one of this year’s headliners on the Vans Warped Tour 10th anniversary trek beginning in Houston TX on June 25 and concluding in Boston, MA on August 19. Bandit Birds! The RxBandits and Finch played an acoustic and a Police cover (Genie In A Bottle) a while back at The Chain Reaction. Bandvideos.tk are there for the whole thing, go check it out. Pump Up The Volume, AMP! AMP Magazine has updated the page for the month of April. Check out a cover story on the Dropkick Murphys, as well as interviews with the legendary Leatherface, Matchbook Romance, The Get Up Kids, Sugarcult, and many more. In the Blink of an eye... Part 1 Blink-182's Brisbane, Australia Show has been rescheduled again from Monday September 13th 2004 to Friday September 3rd. Warped CD Sherwood will be featured on Broken Line Record's Warped Tour compliation with the featured track "The Summer Sends It's Love". The CD features acts such as Boys Night Out, Halifax, The Spill Canvas, Yellowcard, Days Like These, Park, Never Heard of It, The Goodwill and Army of Freshmen. It will be released on July 1st at the Fullerton, CA Warped Tour and be sold at every Warped Tour date from then on. Finch on the horizons Last night at the Finch, Counterfit, Beta Factor and The Fall Project show in San Diego, Finch played 7 new songs, and they only mentioned the name of one of them which was titled 'Ink.' Marc from Counterfit was handling drumming duties for them as well. Also, don't forget these guys are playing The Glasshouse in Pomona, CA tonight. Deconstruction 2004: The Lowdown! OK, a little clarification on Deconstruction in London. The event will now be at Brixton Academy on June 6 after Alexandra palace became double-booked. It is hoped the moto-x will take place in a nearby park, subject to a license. The bill, for the London show only, is as follows: Pennywise, Lagwagon, Anti-Flag, MxPx, Pulley, Strike Anywhere, 1208, The Movement and Red Tape. A UK band is also expected to be added. Tickets are due to go on sale next week. As the date has moved from June 5 to 6, some bands can now no longer play in the UK. The Slackers have a previously arranged gig in Belgium and so cannot play; The Beatsteaks and Yellowcard are playing Rock am Ring and so cannot play either. Sum 41 are playing the Lille, France, date ONLY. Pennywise will headline with Lagwagon on before them, despite other posted line-ups. In the Blink of an eye... Part 2 For those of you who knew, Blink 182 have cancelled their planned September UK tour. Most of you possibly didn't even know it was going ahead, but anyway, it's now not, so don't believe any rumours you may hear! |

The address is: http://81.103.3.239/ The username is kif and the password is mx but be warned; it won't work if I am not online. Don't worry though, I have broadband and it starts up with Windows so if I am not online on MX try it anyway. If not, don't be too bummed out about it. To anyone who doesn't know, it works exactly like a website. Right click > Save Target As. Simple, eh? Folders up so far: Bad Religion - The Empire Strikes First (3 Demos) Senses Fail - Let It Enfold You (Full album) The Ataris - Live At The Metro (Full album and promo video) New Found Glory - All Downhill From Here (Single)
I can't get it to work even when you're online on mx. It just says page not found  |

Milo Goes Into Politics As I was searching around the Internet, I cam across the lyrics for the new Descendents song featured on the Rock Against Bush compilation being released later this month. Here are the lyrics: Sad State of Affairs It’s such a sad state of affairs, and I don’t care A sad state of affairs It’s such a sad state of affairs – I don’t care Look at things long enough until they go away But they’re still there, aren’t they? And each little insect doesn’t make me angry And the dirt in the sink gets washed down the drain It’s such a sad state of affairs, and I don’t care A sad state of affairs This place could use a little repair – I don’t care The TV on the table says listen to me hum I sit on the sofa with my mind all numb And each little murderer doesn’t make me angry And the dirt in the sink gets washed down the drain Follow the flow, wherever it goes Down the drain, and everything’s clean Follow the blood, where is the blood? Washed away, away from the scene Use your time and memorize the lullaby of the day Process the data and throw it away And each little question doesn’t get me thinking And the lies of my life still buzz around my brain If anyone can find lyrics to the other songs featured on the compilation, send them in. Full track list is on Fat Wreck. Sum new songs According to Deryck Whibley, his band's next album is greater than the sum of its parts. "It's our most everything record," the Sum 41 singer said. "It's the heaviest we've ever done, but at the same time it's the lightest record we've ever done. It's the perfect mix of our last two records: It's really aggressive, like the last record, but I don't think we sacrificed any melody or anything catchy from the first record." Whibley, guitarist Dave Baksh, bassist Cone McCaslin and drummer Steve Jocz have written several songs — "Welcome to Hell," "Open Your Eyes," "88" and "Some Say," among them — and are recording in a Toronto studio with producer Greig Nori. Thanks to Sum 41 Rule Loads of MCR news lately... You can check out a player for the Avenged Sevenfold and My Chemical Romance tour HERE. This prom will be way cheaper than a high school one, only 10 bucks. Check HERE for more info. Also, the owner of We the People Records and publisher of the book, Charlie Adams, will be there. The Empire OFFICIALLY Strikes Back Epitaph has release one song from The Empire Stirkes First! Download "Sinister Rouge" HERE. In my opinion, it's the best on the album.
I can't get it to work even when you're online on mx. It just says page not found
Yeah I can never get it to work either. |
Yeah I can never get it to work either.
I don't leave it on all the time. Mainly because it slows my computer. People on MX know about it, and somehow people on Absolutepunk.net know about it too. Plus some people on MSN know about it too, and people are allowed 5 downloads per IP. I might change it so only 1 or 2 downloads are available per IP at a time, or I might just change the user name. As for now, I have a few Hellogoodbye demos up, and I'm looking for My Chemical Romance's new album. |
Okay I understand. Could you let me(us) know when it is up by posting so in the Discussion thread or something?

I'll try and make a little timetable to say what time I generally get online. I have Broadband so the second I turn it on I'm online. Also, I'll try to log onto AIM/MSN when I get online too so you know straight away, but I have a sort of not-so-legal copy of Trillian Pro, and it doesn't work when you change it to "Start with Windows". I'll do my best anyway |
Okay thanks. I've been meaning to get the rest of that Emo is Good/Emo Is Evil Compilation. :thumb:

I am generally on:
11/12AM - 11/12PM GMT |
