Classic rock is by far the best kind of music.

Why did I have to be born in the late 80s? :upset: I'll never get to see Zeppelin in concert.

I forgot to add The Allman Brothers, who are one of the greatest jam bands ever. I recomend everyone here buy the album [I]Eat a Peach[/I], I did a review of it in the CD review board, just incase anyone wants my opinion on it.

There is this group of freshmen boys at my highschool that call themselves "classic rock freaks." Yet all they own is their dad's copy of "LZ IV" and "The Wall"

Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, and The Doors are pretty **** awesome.

dire straits are my second favorite band after zeppelin, and i love the eagles...but i wouldnt call thin lizzy classic rock really
i saw them open for deep purple(another of my favorites) a month ago, solid performance
and im seeing bob dylan this friday

I think classic rock is any music that stands the test of time. If its still good ten or twenty years later and doesnt fade away then its classic rock. Assuming its rock in the first place of course. So in that case Yes AcDc is Classic rock

As I see it rock N roll is whenever and classic rock is old rock N roll such as the bands that we have been talking about. I guess the darkness might be rock N roll but they certainly aren't good. And they aren't classic rock because they are recent.

lol, what albums? i reccomend "demons and wizards" (not hansi and schaffers album lol), and "look at yourself", their self titled album and "salisbury" are both good as well and "the magicians b-day" isa decent effort.

I'm not sure, lol.

He usually buys greatest hits things, so if they have that, he'll have it.

^ Yes, one of the greatest bands ever. That is when they have Joe Walsh. I have the [I]Yer[/I] album, and [I]Rides Again[/I], and those have to be two of the greatest CD's I own.

those were all big hits, you may recgonize a few.

I like lots of classic rock from Zep to Chuck Berry, Deep Purple, Cream, Neil Young & Crazy Horse etc. I saw Neil Young last year..fück was that awesome! I saw Roxy Music in 2001, they were also great. I'm seeing KISS in May!!! I wanna see Deep Purple with Gillan (but no Ritchie) but I have no money! :angry: and it's like at a 500 seat INTIMATE VENUE playing all Machine Head and earlier stuff!!! I'm so disappointed, it was either KISS or DP, Kiss was cheaper and I like them just a little bit more. The Who are rumoured to come out to Aus, and AC/DC to tour again, so hopefully them too :)

Yea i like the old stuff, but its mainly stuff like Rainbow ect i'm not a big fan of Clapton or Led Zep.

Rush, Zepplin, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Dio, ELO, and I consider Genesis another rock band I really like

It's Acid Rock, and that is one hell of a box set. I recomend you buy [I]Trout Mask Replica[/I] by Captain Beefheart. If you like that stuff you'll think that album is amazing, which it is.

classic rock is rock music from 1968 to 1983. Atleast that's what my classic rock radio station defines it as.

They missout on some of the greatest lesser known Classic rock bands. Like The Byrds, or Buffalo Springfield, Big Brother and Holding Company, The Velvet Underground, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Van Morrison, ect. Most of those bands were pretty big in their day, but the kids these days aren't looking for those bands. Usually, they are looking for the heavier, or louder types, but that's only the kids I know.[/QUOTE]

Beatles, Stones, Rush, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Zeppelin (watching Zep DVD now :thumb: ).

Classic rock is awesome, but it isn't experiencing a revival. At least where I'm from, there has always been a large portion of classic rock kids. If anybody wants an awesome band, check out Stratovarius.
Just as a sidenote, everything that isn't rap or pop is awesome (with the exception of bands like Slipknot, whom do not have a genre). By the way, The Darkness is not very retro rock, and are not overly talented.
