Nas hasn't had a good album in a while but he was neever as big as eminem is so Nas is not more overrated than Em

Bulldog 01-02-2010 12:10 AM

In terms of talent...

Nas > Eminem

In terms of hype...

Eminem > Nas

Therfore in overrated-ness

Eminem > Nas

Rams 01-02-2010 12:12 AM

Eminem is 8000 times the rapper Nas is. Nas sucks.

Gattsu347 01-02-2010 12:16 AM

great here comes the whole Led Zepplien is better the The Who argument.

Jaundice 01-02-2010 12:16 AM

Nas is still putting out good records to this day

Not really, I just think you are mentally disabled if you think Nas is good at all.

Gattsu347 01-02-2010 12:21 AM

never heard him :/

Bulldog 01-02-2010 12:22 AM

Eminem's voice is just...URGH.

Gattsu347 01-02-2010 12:27 AM
Correction: his last three albums are terrible.
The slim shady lp basically appealed to the widest audience that exists in america, poor white people. its hilarious, depressing, and skillful. MM LP was his master work, no need to talk about why. the rest suck.
pretty much. I personally don't enjoy his music that much, but I can't deny his influence

Glitterati 01-02-2010 12:34 AM
I never really understood why people liked him in the first place.
hhhhhooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

Jaundice 01-02-2010 12:38 AM

Eminem and Nas are both far above average rappers. Any one that doesn't recognize this is viewing hip hop from an extremely unusual bias.

Bulldog 01-02-2010 12:47 AM

I think Eminem works more as a COUNTRY star.

Here me out on thism the subject matter, if examined by itself and not paired with its delivery, is country. Family problems? Living in a trailer? Generally being a white trash piece of sh*t? Sounds like country to me.

That being said, the presentation is made in rap format. With rapping and rap instrumentals and such, but, while New Boyz are "rap" alot of people consider them to be pop. So wouldn't the same thing work for Eminem?

Eminem = country content in rap format.

*stunned silence*
*stunned silence*
Is that an "I just had an epiphony, I agree" silence or a "Wow, you're retarded" silence?

JonG 01-02-2010 01:02 AM

rakim > all

pac is overrated, so is biggie. nas only has 2 good albums, jay-z has 2/3.

i enjoy early eminem, and the newest tracks off refill werent terrible. his newer songs are mostly ruined by sung choruses and awful beats from dre. yes, dre's beats are getting incredibly stale, and are the same awful keyboard rhythms.

Imo Zaytoven is the best producer of all time.

exredhouseresident 01-02-2010 02:07 AM

Lil Wayne and Jay-Z conjointly hold that title.

Jaundice 01-02-2010 02:07 AM

Lil Wayne is easily one of the most under-rated MCs.

Bulldog 01-02-2010 02:09 AM
Lil Wayne is easily one of the most under-rated MCs.
Lil Wayne is OVER-rated if anything. imo

Jaundice 01-02-2010 02:12 AM

Depends who you ask about him, half the people over rate him and the other half under rate him.

Bulldog 01-02-2010 02:13 AM

Eh, in my POV

65% overrate him
15% rate him just right
20% underrate him

Raventhon 01-02-2010 06:11 AM

Dunno, I think Relapse was his best album yet. He's got an excellent flow and many of his songs are deeply personal, something you don't really get to see much in mainstream hip-hop.

I'm pretty much a huge sucker for people putting personal **** into their raps, though, as Reef the Lost Cauze, Viro the Virus, and Slug of Atmosphere are three of my favorite rappers.

illmitch 01-02-2010 09:05 AM

i thought i was the only person who thought eminem was overrated, thank god

the best rapper to put personal **** in his raps, ever, is z-ro. no question about it.

Kyle 01-02-2010 10:27 AM

Anybody into Eminem's pre Slim Shady LP material?

I love this track.

Raventhon 01-02-2010 10:29 AM

Don't laugh, but I've never heard of z-ro. What album should I go get?

illmitch 01-02-2010 10:36 AM

haha no worries. check out Let the Truth Be Told or The Life of Joseph W. McVey

Freddie Gibbs is the most personal rapper ever.

illmitch 01-02-2010 01:17 PM

i like freddie gibbs but so far he hasn't done anything to rival z-ro in my book

Bulldog 01-02-2010 01:22 PM

Senim Silla or One Be Lo.
