Anyways to the threadstarter: Don't worry about most of the dickheads on this forum are saying (most of them are frustrated bedroom players). If you weren't likely to ever sell it, good on you for restoring it and personalizing it.

Even though guitars from the 1970s are the best ever made, if the guitar wasn't stored properly, the copper in the pickups would have worn out anyway.

You know that there's no guitar on the planet like that, so **** everyone else.

... but looking at the before pics... I would have just changed the pickups... that was a beautiful finish...

not that there's anything wrong with Bill Hicks.

I still want to know how it's a crappy guitar, i'm sure people would pay a mint for any guitar from that era.

It's not a crappy guitar, it was just in crappy condition when I first got it, and I was lead to believe that it wasn't a real Gibson, it was some sort of knock off. But I was wrong.

castillo i don't know what these idiots are getting their panties in a twist over but i support your decision. I mean, I would probably have at least gotten a musician painted on my guitar, or better yet something entirely different, but whatever it's your guitar.
