Superpeer: Try some Di'Anno stuff then.

Paul Di'Anno was the old singer, or even maybe the Blaze Bailey era.

Question: If I want the best of Di'Anno era Maiden, do I buy Killers or Iron Maiden ?

superpeer 11-25-2003 09:37 AM

I'll try that

Iron Maiden is better in my opinion. Songs like Phantom of the Opera, Remember Tomorrow, Transylvania, Sanctuary and (of course) Iron Maiden make the album a classic. Although Killers does have a fair few gems of it's own :D

mulletron 11-25-2003 10:41 AM

Yeah, Iron Maiden is better than Killers.

Anyone going to the Earls Court gig on December 12th?

HondoII 11-25-2003 11:02 AM

If wrathchild was on Iron Maiden then it would be the perfect cd. But my fav is still Number of the Beast and LAD

Mars Volta 11-25-2003 11:40 AM

I'm going to see them in a week at sheffield, can't wait!

naboo 11-25-2003 01:28 PM

I really like Purgartory on Killers, but i dont have Iron Maiden. I just got Some where in Time yesterday and i thought it was real different from the three albums before whcih i have, but its so good. Is Seventh Son as good as Somewhere in Time, is it likke it? Im still gonna get it, but im just wondering

sensitiveorgan00 11-25-2003 01:41 PM

The Clairvoyant is also a good song.

DestroyerChris 11-25-2003 01:54 PM

i love iron maiden. they're my all time favorite band. my fav. song would definitly be fear of the dark...especially the live in rock in rio. i wouldda killed to have been there! i can't wait to see them in january (in the states). i just hope they swing by somewhere near d.c. but if not then well, i just have a bit of driving to do huh??? gotta see maiden no matter how far away from d.c. they come.

up the irons!

HondoII 11-25-2003 04:38 PM

they arent going anywhere but Cali and NY for the DOD tour...but its rumored that they might tour with priest later in 2004.

mullens 11-25-2003 04:52 PM

First of all, Maiden ****ing rule!! I'm currently listenign to powerslave and playing along to it. I just ahd Killers on aswell a fine piece of classic Paul D'ianno Iron Maiden. For the people looking for the "best" Iron Maiden album there isn't really one out there. they are all works of art. Powerslave or Number of the Beast is probably the ebst way to go for someone who's just getting into them. Brave New World is also an exellent choice. one more thing if anyone knows the solo to where eagles dare please post a tab or something because I'm having difficulty trying to figure it out.i don't know why though it isn't overlly difficult.

Metallicat1987 11-25-2003 05:34 PM

Are tickets on sale???????!!!! if they are where can i get them!!

k_dawg 11-25-2003 06:00 PM

the best song is 'the nomad'
get right blitzed and chill out with that sweet melody

:)

HondoII 11-25-2003 06:01 PM

ticket sales arent announced yet...my guess is around early/middle december...go to ticketmaster.com and search for maiden...they wont have any ticket info so enter your email to have them email you when tix will be on sale.

RockerGav 11-26-2003 10:09 AM

Thanks, judging from the responses here, i'll go with Iron Maiden.

And The Clairvoyant is the one that starts off bass only?

Iron Maiden.. amazing band. Steve Harris goes up there as one of the best bassists ever. They are one of the bands that has an incredible amount of amazing songs, so you can never decide which CD to buy by them since each one is amazing as hell. There was a period where I disliked some of their songs, but I found they redeemed themselves with Brave New World, and Dance of Death is an amazing CD. Out of the 3 most popular classic metal bands (Sabbath, Priest and Maiden) I love Maiden the most.

Pastorius 11-26-2003 11:57 AM

I am going to see Iron Maiden very soon on the Dance of Death tour, in Cardiff!!!!!!! So glad they came back to the place they came from (UK, not Cardiff)

I cannot wait!!! If they play Fear of the Dark or Judas My Guide I will literally jizz my pants.

Thunder Fingers 11-26-2003 01:36 PM

Dance of death is a very good album! Steve Harris is awsome! anybody noticed that the guitars plays very little on the strings under the G string??? Steve Harris Writes it all! :p what a god!!! Judas be my guide...your on your own there, i guarantee you that is a song that wont ever be played live...like run silent run deep, some Maiden tracks they just wont do. Hell, id love to hear the lonliness of the long distance runner or tailgunner back in the set, when a band has so many good tracks to choose from its impossible to hear everything you want lol. thats what cover bands are for :)

Thunder Fingers 11-27-2003 12:00 PM

bump.... :p

HondoII 11-27-2003 12:21 PM

i would post the set list but i dont want to ruin it for you...but Paschendale live is completely incredible.

FrailandBedazzled1979 11-27-2003 01:06 PM

^^^^

i bet it would be, i read in an interview that Nicko wants to play "montsegur" live, but i have a feeling its not on the setlist.
