Could people reccomend me some really good power metal? The only power metal I have right now is Iced Earth, and I would like some more, if possible. Thanks.

Dragonforce - Sonic Firestorm
Sonata Arctica - Winterheart's Guild
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys parts 1 + 2

Those are all great power metal albums.
People into Thrash Death MEtal should listen to Testament (Low, Demonic, The Gathering, or even the remakes of their 80's classics on First Strike Still Deadly)

If anyone knows any bands like Testament let me hear them. I dig Chuck Billy in all the Testament eras.
If you are speaking on a total thrash standpoint, then your recommendation could be better. If you want to start getting into thrash, I highly recommend you listen to these four albums:

Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Kreator - Coma of Souls
Overkill - The Years of Decay
Slayer - Reign In Blood

Each of those albums are different from one another, and display the different sounds of the thrash metal genre. Happy listening!

I reccomend The Jeff healey Band for anyone who likes hard rock/blues/ballady types of song/jazz (jazz being his later stuff).
could people recommend me some At The Drive-In please?
My favourite band :)

I recommend Relationship of Command to start off with, or if you are into indie + alternative a bit more, check out In Casino Out. ICO is a bit more lo-fi, Rick Rubin produced RoC so it's got better production and is a bit more metal-ly sounding

Recommended songs:
Heliotrope (Vaya)
Cosmonaut (RoC)
Enfilade (RoC)

Transatlantic (ICO)
Non-Zero Possibility (RoC)
Quarantined (RoC)

Hope this helps
I've heard of Haggard before, but I've never been able to get any of their songs. I don't want to rush out and buy an album before I hear something from it! Anyone know where to find some songs or song samples?
Got Soulseek?

Or go here and listen to the songs on their new album under the music section.

All their stuff sounds like this album, so ya it doesn't matter what album you check out.

TowerOfHendrix 01-03-2005 07:56 PM

I've never heard Iced Earth, but I want to. The problem is that I don't download music and I don't want to buy a CD without hearing some. What are they similar to? Or are they completely original? Thanks for any help.

Also, for those that don't want to buy ALL the Hendrix, even though you should, here are some starters to get you going:
Axes Bold as Love
BBC Sessions
Band of Gypsies
Are You Experienced (best debut album of any band in my opinion)

Iced Earth I guess are sorta unique.......Thrash/Power Metal

Listen to "Night of the Stormrider" and "Horror Show"......to really different albums, and then you'll see if you like them

visit http://www.fozzyrock.com

Hey guys & girls! First off, great job with the forums! Keep it up! :thumb:

Wanted to inform everyone, about WWE Superstar, Chris Jericho's NEW album! His band, Fozzy, will be releasing their 3rd album entitled, "All That Remains" on January 18th 2005 (Feb. 22nd in Canada)! I am not kidding when I say this is their best work to date!

Here is some info on the album, and where you can find out more.

All That Remains (ATR) also features guest appearances from some of the greatest guitarists in the world, including Zakk Wylde (Ozzy, BLS), Marty Friedman (Megadeth), and Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge). World renowned rapper Bonecrusher and Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy also appear.

The record release will coincide with a video for the track Enemy (recently recorded and ready to go), which will be airing on such places as Fuse & MTV, as well as multiple features in magazines such as Guitar One, Guitar World, Goldmine, Billboard as well as many others.

Also keep your eyes open to see the ad for ATR, featuring quotes about the record from some of the hugest names in music including Zakk, Howard Stern, Eddie Trunk, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci and many others.

The CD single for Enemy is also released, so click the link at the top of this post for more details & some samples off All That Remains! If you love rock, with a melodic sound and gut renching quitar solos, pick it up and don't be the only person in the world that is NOT banging your head to the NEW Fozzy sound!!
