I am tired of everyone here saying it in every challenge I enter, especially those who haven't even seen most of the songs I've entered in these challenges or written outside of them. I'm tired of seeing it in relation to anything I write. For the love of Christ, stop comparing my frigging output with everything else you've ever seen by me. It's [b]STUPID[/b]. I don't write these songs to make you wet your pants, because I could write a peice of sh[size=2]it[/size] song that everyone here loves quite easily.

I'm not going to write the same song you love so much over and over again every challenge. I'm not going to see, "Oh, it's good and all, but it's like not as good as everything else you do because that stuff is great" as worthwhile criticism. For the love of Christ, I have seen this crit in every challenge I've entered for almost a year now. Where are these "usual Burt" songs you love so much? I remember Ive mentioned your past work while giving you a crit within the last ten challenges or so, but i think it was something like "i like that you are taking a new direction, but dont like..." kind of thing. and i realize i didnt really give you a crit for this one, so i will.

i liked the honesty, but in the last stanza the coal thing seemed kind of bland. gotta go i might comment more later.

And that's fine. I don't care if you hate it, I don't care if you don't crit it at all, but I've honestly gotten fed up with this whole "not up to your standards" thing. I mean, Tojes liked it; that's not the issue, the issue is with these annoying comments I've been getting since I started winning challenges in the first place.

I admit that Chino's vocals can be fairly impressive at times, but the rest of the band needs much work. I can appreciate simplicity, but you need to have something of substance sometimes. He|l, Jack Johnson is one of the most proficient at using simplicity to make good music, but I wouldn't say that he's one of the best musicians around.

I think that they're pretty good musicians too. "Minerva" is aces. "Be Quiet And Drive" and "My Own Summer" aren't particularly hard but the riffs are great. "Korea", "Hexagram" and "When Girls Telephone Boys" melt my face off.

"Minerva" still gets on my nerves, if for no other reason that it was overplayed and overhyped upon its initial release. As for the others, your face must be made of wax.

And Minerva's pretty. I don't listen to the radio.

Ok, granted they have much more diverse song topics than most bands do. I'll give you that. But their sound just doesn't do all that much for me. A lot of it is unintentionally (or intentionally) depressing, and the stuff that isn't, just doesn't tingle my eardrums the way I would like it to.
