Radiohead. OH SNAP!!!!!!

But seriously, i dont listen to the radio much, so i dont know many of the bands on alternative radio. But Disturbed + Breaking Benjamin + every other band that sounds like them is just awful. And the killers/the bravery. The killers make it on the sole fact that they might have one of the worst band names ever.

Actually "The Killers" would be a good band name if it reflected on the attitude or style of the band at all. But it doesn't. Iron Maiden's second album reflected the word "Killers" in a far superior manner.

You make a valid point.

morrissey 10-28-2005 08:08 PM

I don't get all the Bloc Party nominations, they're quite decent.

The Bravery, probably.

What's this, a black guy from England? Well let me put down my copy of NME and whip my dick out cause this is the hottest item of the year!

PDWAB 10-28-2005 08:24 PM

I like too many of the bands in this thread to post in this forum, haha.

1.2.freakin'.3. Killers suck.

D1ck Cheney's D1ck 10-28-2005 08:51 PM

You guys got this worst band thing down.

I can see that i'm not needed here.

Scott Herren 10-28-2005 09:34 PM

there is nothing wrong with the killers. you guys are getting too caught up in making sure to name drop groups like the killers and bravery because you lose indie cred for liking them. there are far worse groups. case in point, insane clown posse.

Nobody is more concerned about indie cred than I.

thats number one as far as far as bands of this kind go
Radiohead. OH SNAP!!!!!!
Is that statement an OH SNAP because:
a) Radiohead didn't actually release anything this year,
b) You're in the Alt/Indie section, or
c) Radiohead > You
But seriously, i dont listen to the radio much, so i dont know many of the bands on alternative radio. The Killers = Alright band name
The Bravery = The Killers + Post-Emo + 80's Dance Music = Bland + Unoriginal
Disturbed = Overplayed, "dramatic!" mess of generica. Tell that man to STFU. And stop it with those screamy things at the beginning of all your songs.
Breaking Benjamin = Not so great. "Cold" would be a million times better if it were an acoustic song. Their Halo 2 song is a guilty pleasure.
Louis XIV = My vote.

Enough with the math.

BillCosby 10-28-2005 10:14 PM

I don't like the Killers, but calling them the worst band of 2005 is pretty ridiculous, I must admit. There are much worse.
there is nothing wrong with the killers. you guys are getting too caught up in making sure to name drop groups like the killers and bravery because you lose indie cred for liking them. there are far worse groups. case in point, insane clown posse.
Did ICP even release anything this year?

My vote goes to Hawthorne Heights.

Scott Herren 10-28-2005 10:16 PM

i'm sure they did something musically this year to try to cash in, so they qualify.

Well, I don't have any indie cred to lose and I can safely say they both suck loads of chode.

pika122689 10-28-2005 10:40 PM

I actually can enjoy The Killers, but The Bravery's single "Honest Mistake", I really just cannot bring myself to like. It has nothing to do with Indie cred, I just frankly don't like the song.

ICP prove most points to be true. What a terrible group.

i think icp are a humoungus load of shite yet i'd probably take even them over the killers

i just frankly think they suck. i dont think that has anything to do with cred.

Scott Herren 10-28-2005 11:19 PM

fair enough then, i just seem to see a lot of generic "they suck" comments without explaining elements of the music that they find upsetting to the ears. That kind of stuff is easy to find in some bands, I just don't see what is so absolutely horrible about the music made by the killers when it is taken as just music. sure, it can be bland and unmemorable, rip offs, or whatever, but there is stuff that is much worse to listen to believe me.

YDload 10-28-2005 11:33 PM

Being bland or a rip-off is the worst thing there is, as far as I'm concerned. Why else do you think I like The Mars Volta, when their obnoxious noises go far beyond anything you personally would listen to? Because it's creative, if nothing else!

morrissey 10-28-2005 11:37 PM

I really like the Killers actually, I saw them in concert and they were decent.

I'm never much concerned about "indie cred" anyway since most of my friends like music on the radio and they don't know enough about the bands I listen to to realise how cool I am for liking them.

Tomahawk 10-29-2005 12:03 AM

Honestly, the worst 2005 album that I've actually heard is Make Believe.

So I guess I vote for Weezer.

Let's go find him and beat him up.

/Doesn't know any Bright Eyes
/Was shortly obsessed with TMV and is now partway over them

Erm, maybe not.
