I remember hearing that song, it is a really good song.

albert_bass 10-22-2005 02:33 PM

I don't usually listen to other music than punk or its subgeneres in large amounts but lately I've been listening to a quite strange mix of music:

The Living End (pop-punk)
Tower Of Power (funk)
Trivium (metal)
Blur (alternative)
Foo Fighters (alternative)
Atari Teenage Riot (digital hardcore)
At The Drive-In (alternative)
Bad Manners (2nd wave ska)
Batmobile (psychobilly)
Miles Davis (jazz)
Coheed & cambria (I could never stand them before but now I enjoy SSTB)
I guess they're alternative rock.

So there... Quite strange list for me.

Firecracker 10-22-2005 02:50 PM

Panic! At The Disco has been constantly blaring out in my ears.

Rootsradical 10-22-2005 03:36 PM

I've been listening to a lot of screeching weasel, suicide machines, and propaghandi lately.

B 10-22-2005 03:41 PM

No particular bands.. I listen to everything I've got. I guess I've been listening to more Hardcore and Metalcore lately than usual. The only pop-punk bands I can think of that I've listened to a lot lately are Anberlin and Amber Pacific.

dylweed 10-22-2005 09:23 PM

the explosion, everclear, cake

Mute Print 10-22-2005 09:40 PM

I've been listening to a lot of Gorilla Biscuits lately, and quite a bit of Thrice.

I'm listening to Calico System right now. Really cool band.

Fire Away 10-22-2005 10:40 PM

alot of emo and acoustic stuff, i.e Dashboard Confessional, the Starting Line, Jimmy eat World

Mute Print 10-22-2005 10:42 PM

That stuff isn't emo...

Emo = emotional hardcore

Fire Away 10-22-2005 10:55 PM

dont start this crap alright, just dont. this place needs a bitching forum, where dickheads like this can argue about genres

Well, the thing is, your idea of emo is completely wrong. It's not an opinion, it's a matter or fact.

He has a point. Just stop arguing.

For you Specner, I'd do anything.

Mute Print 10-22-2005 11:13 PM
He has a point. Just stop arguing.
Eh, I wasn't arguing. I was just trying to educate him, because it's pointless to walk around using a term incorrectly. I didn't even respond to him, because there's no point in arguing with someone so stubburn. But I'll drop it since it isn't important.

Edit - For some reason I thought you were directing that specifically at me. I don't see how what Take Warning did was wrong either though. Anyway, I'm done. Sorry Spence.

Anyway, I've also been listening to a lot of Waking Ashland lately as well. I'd suggest that anyone who hasn't heard them, check them out.

flfbassist 10-23-2005 01:55 AM

I usually listen to the same kind of music, which mostly is pop-punk. Lately ive been listening to a lot of Relient K, Jack's Mannequin (incredible album, everyone should get it), and Cartel.

Im stoked about the Apathy EP from Relient K coming out, and both Jack's Mannequin and Cartel's recent releases (debut for JM) are both really good. And being from Atlanta, i gotta support Cartel, so everyone go buy Chroma. Anyway, those three bands have been getting their fare share of rotation in my car and at home.

Firecracker 10-23-2005 02:32 PM

I listened to Waking Ashland today actually Brian, they're ace, a bit too downbeat for my liking, but the piano is awesome.

What do you think to Vhiessu ?

Crunchwrap Supreme! 10-23-2005 03:29 PM

I've only gotten through it once so I'm not going to say too much on it yet. Everyone's been praising it so much but after one listen, I thought it was kind of mediocre. But like I said, as I listen to it more, I'm sure it will grow on me. The one observation I have is that the heavy parts are sub par for Thrice.

cobert 10-23-2005 07:01 PM

For some reason, ive listened to hot water music alot this week. All i have is Caution, and dont even like half the songs on it.

I've recently gone through a slight pussification, adding a bit of popcore and what not to my otherwise hardcore/metalcore laden list.

The Auburn System
Black My Heart
The Warriors
Classic Case
Emery
A Wilhelm Scream
Arsis
Panic! At The Disco
Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start

These bands have been on my playlist most consistantly for the past month or so.

Rootsradical 10-24-2005 09:50 PM

UncleBobbo 10-24-2005 10:24 PM

Broken Social Scene
Radiohead
Built To Spill
