I'm in.
They aren't anarcho, or political, their music just actually sounds like Crass.

YOURESORAD 10-22-2005 09:20 PM

City of Caterpillar
Isis
Mogwai
Mare
Pelican
Cult of luna
mineral
sunny day real estate

StruckEverywhere 10-22-2005 09:49 PM

To anyone with even a remotely good taste in music, listen to NMDS.

TakeWarning 10-22-2005 10:46 PM
If you like Murder By Death, to you I recommend Cursive, and if you dig Cursive you may even dig a little Brand New.
Yeah, Cursive are awesome. I prefer Murder By Death though.
To anyone with even a remotely good taste in music, listen to NMDS.
You have an unhealthy obsession with them.

SantaDuJuan 10-22-2005 10:47 PM
Andre, you may like Ani Difranco for your folk tastes. And anyone into folk/anti-folk should also check her out.

And Dom, I didn't like Live at the Witch Trials, I liked the other album I have by them though. Witch Trials sounded like Crass.
Hit Parade sound A LOT like Crass.

Yes, my name is Juan.

StruckEverywhere 10-22-2005 10:50 PM
Yes, my name is Juan.
Are you gonna check LH out? Yes?
Andre, you may like Ani Difranco for your folk tastes. And anyone into folk/anti-folk should also check her out.
Man, I'm sorry, but I hate Ani.

Brain Toad 10-22-2005 11:55 PM

This rec thread works better then the current one. The current one is just a huge band list. This is more personal and may work better, but will probably be spammed. But I like it.

AndreTheHyena 10-22-2005 11:55 PM

It's working so well because I'm so handsome.

Brain Toad 10-23-2005 12:07 AM

I love this thread so much, it will be added to the rules as the 'official' recommendation thread. Basically it'll keep running like it has been, people recommending bands to each other based on their tastes or generall just whoring a band. Spammers will be banned and such.

Rep++ for Andre for making an awesome thread.

AndreTheHyena 10-23-2005 12:09 AM

Woohoo, it'll be the second time I've gotten rep since the new rep plan. Thanks, buddy.

Brain Toad 10-23-2005 12:12 AM

Thanks for creating a good thread.

But enough of this fellating, back to recommending.

I recommend Good Clean Fun for everyone.

As do I.

Can somebody recommend me some good thrash bands? At the moment I listen to Municipal Waste and Slayer.

pedro durruti 10-23-2005 01:03 AM

I recommend The Slackers to everyone that doesn't listen to them

obese_breasts 10-23-2005 01:13 AM

To andre and anyone else interested in the folky stuff, listen to Two Gallants.

TakeWarning 10-23-2005 01:13 AM

Mastodon.

They aren't thrash per se, but they have some thrash influence (and toured with Slayer) and completely rule.

Bad newbie, mod and veteran.

Personal. It's in the bleeding thread title.

Anyway, ummm...

Peter and Ska Robot Army should listen to Filabuster. They are on Amped 2 for the x-box and are very good.

Free songs (in RA format)

pedro durruti 10-23-2005 06:37 PM

Busted :(

Ok, Dominic, you listen to the Blue Meanies. I don't think you listen to any ska, and you like more artsy music, but also like punk, and they are pretty different ska. They aren't necessarily artsy, but they aren't a typical ska band, and most of the times they aren't even a ska band.

Trying to download Filibuster now, but first I have to install a new version of Real Player

Anxious 10-23-2005 08:01 PM

Cool guys, I'll check out all of your reccomendations tommrow when I'm at home doing nothing.

I'm not good at recommending bands.

obese_breasts 10-23-2005 09:32 PM

yeah Sid, every single one you have recommended was complete crap.

Anxious 10-24-2005 07:52 PM

I listend to Bear Vs. Shark, and I thought it sounded like pretty bland indie. Nothing to hold me intrest anyway. Not bad.
