Why have I never heard of this band? Are they death metal or what/
Arsis is an American melodic death metal, and none of this scandanavian-rip-off-in flames-wannabe crap, this is the real deal, and the guitar player is off the wall. Might I add there are only two guys, the guitarist and the drummer. If your a fan of well written extreme metal you will love these guys. go to their site www.worshipdepraved.com and check out some of their songs if you're interested. :thumb:

Also you might not have heard of them because they are somewhat obscure at the moment. But I can predict they will become great in the years to come.

Shadows 10-16-2005 07:12 PM

Yes, REAL melodic death. None of this modern American-melodic-death-with-metalcore bullshit. Outstanding musicianship and incredibly memorable writing.

Neurotoxin 10-16-2005 07:18 PM

I'll be sending this out tomorrow. I love it so much! The title track has some amazing guitar work, needless to say,

Arucard 10-16-2005 07:20 PM

Yes, these guys makes people like DT look tame musicanship wise.

Shadows 10-16-2005 07:21 PM

That they do. I think Jim could rival Petrucci. He's already years ahead of DT in songwriting anyway.

Have you heard A Celebration of Guilt? If not, you must. If you love the new stuff you'll love the album.

Woah. Truthfully, is this just the new EP fervor talking?

Shadows 10-16-2005 07:59 PM

No, I've felt that way for a while. They're extremely good musicians.

Shazzam 10-16-2005 08:01 PM

I was extremely shocked when I found out that they were only 2 people. I mean, their drummer is an absolute machine (look at pictures of him on their website), and their guitarist is absolutely amazing.

They are only two people?? Do they have bass? (visions of the White Stripes)

killa_bees77 10-16-2005 09:07 PM

they use extra musicians live (additional guitar and bass). The singer/guitarist plays bass on the albums though.

Thanks!

I want it really bad, I have Celebration of Guilt and it is one of the best CD's I own. I heard a small sample of Diamond for Disease and it ruled. James Malone kicks ass.

killa_bees77 10-17-2005 12:54 PM

Thanx for the demos Streelight, the song titles were switched a bit from the other demos that were sent to me earlier but its ok. I liked the other songs.

to BeaZ, and Creeping Deth, i sent out the links for the EP so check it out if y'all want.

Vortigon 10-17-2005 01:05 PM

Could I have the demos?

They were a full band for a while. After Celebration was released, they managed to find themselves a permanent bassist and guitarist, but they quit sometime in the recent past. It's back down to the two of them again.

Uh, Streetlight, I accidentally deleted those demos from my mailbox. :( Do you think you could send them again? theflashmango@yahoo.com

Cardboard Headgear 10-18-2005 01:55 PM

szuerner@sfsu.edu If you folks are still YSIing the EP or demos or whatever.

Triangle 10-18-2005 02:11 PM

Awesome. Downloading...

killa_bees77 10-19-2005 08:35 AM

Hey which one of you guys that pre-ordered got your EP already? I was wondering because it seemed like I was the only one. I actually emailed Mike from Arsis (drummer) and he was kool enough to respond and tell me that usually when you pre order they send them out right when they get copies which would explain why i got mine so early. Haha i just think its awesome Mike even took the time to write me back. what a kool dude

Cardboard Headgear 10-19-2005 12:14 PM

Cheers to the guys for sending out the YSI's. The chorus to The Promise of Never is so walrusin' badass.

Dark_Hero 10-19-2005 01:49 PM

spacebass22@hotmail.com

Please send me it!

Vortigon 10-19-2005 01:56 PM

Yeah thanks for that guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Dude, you should join the Arsis boards. Mike himself posts there, so me and the other guys there always get the inside info before anyone else. He told me aobut the early sendings too. He also mentioned that him and Jim are currently putting together an Arsis DVD. :)

I ordered mine a couple days ago. I'm just waiting for it to ship.

Triangle 10-19-2005 02:23 PM

Listening to for my second time now and I can safely say that I like it. It's so... fresh.

Shadows 10-19-2005 02:24 PM

Yes, they have a very unique style. I've never heard it anywhere else.

Yeah, interesting.. I hope to see great things come out of them in the near future.

Shadows 10-19-2005 02:38 PM

Mike has also said Willowtip is considering releasing their debut album on vinyl with two bonus tracks. I'd buy it.
