Michigan isn't so hot. |
DFA 1979
Ugh, I have no clue what province they're from. I've heard Quebec and Alberta, and now Ontario. Someone choose a California band for me |

Someone choose a California band for me
They're from Scarborough I believe, but I'd just say Toronto in general. I don't have a concrete source on this it was just what I've heard around. edit: CA = Pavement |

Someone choose a California band for me
well everyone from New York and California already has a huge advantage. that's why i just chose my city (San Diego). in other news, some BAD bands from my city (that even went to my highschool) are Blink 182 and Unwritten Law. |

Tori Amos and tupac grew up here i dunno...kinda lame
that explains the similarity.... |
Favorite band from my state (New York) = Sonic Youth
|
From my country, Imago.
hehehehe :p the music scene here has really changed since you left. UpDharmaDown seems to be really good here |
The Stooges, probably.
Michigan isn't so hot.
Sufjan Stevens? |
Oh, and The Wurzels or course.
|
Even Montana has The Decemberists.
Hmmm... I have to disagree. Meloy might be from MT, but I think my lovely state has dibs on the band as a whole. In addition, I'm going to pimp Elliott Smith (and Heatmiser), Quasi, Dolorean, The Dandy Warhols, Menomena, and I'm also going to claim the Shins, even though NM probably has the best claim to them as a band. We may not be Seattle, but Oregon (mainly Portland) puts out some good music.
Rock it Oregon! PS Since he's reportedly living in Oregon now, I'm also claiming Frank Black. We also have Floater and Everclear, although I'm not much into either band's music. |
I'm gonna Have to say The Cribs cause they live 10 minutes away from me in Wakefield,West Yorkshire and as you tell by my avatar,I love them!
|
ssteiling 1, Dan 0
PA still sucks, though. |
Heh, Enthroned, I guess. Belgium isn't a great breeding ground for music.
|
Axelle Red!
Eh. It's nice to listen to once in a while, but I wouldn't call myself a big fan. |
I'm in Georgia so I'm gonna go with Butch Walker, Sevendust, Cartel and The Allman Brothers.
|
The Get Up Kids and Veda
|
Seether
|
The Get Up Kids and Veda
Right, Veda. I forgot they were from KC, though I wouldn't really call them a favorite band anyway. Are you talking MO or KS? Oh, and how could I forget Chuck Berry? He's a St. Louis native. |
State is too hard.
How about city? Jeff Buckley Anaheim, California /me goes to same high school |
Common (Chicago, Illinois)
|
The Clash
Camden, North West London, England |
Common (Chicago, Illinois)
I always thought you were from Boston, or at least New England, for some reason. |
I always thought you were from Boston, or at least New England, for some reason.
I moved to Boston when I was 8 years old. |
Joy Division/New Order, the only good band ever from Stockport. Pretty amazing tho, you should all learn to play shadowplay by joy division.
I live near Stockport! :O You could also have Muse's drummer, he was born there, if that counts. Also, Joy Division were from Salford although they did record Unknown Pleasures in Strawberry Studios in Stockport. |
Hot Snakes and Tom Waits are both from San Diego, so they win.
|
Ohio, so...
Devo. |
Arcade fire
