exactly.

Special Brew 09-17-2005 02:14 AM

Most of the stuff you guys are suggesting don't seem to have any real hardcore inlfuence. They seem straight up death to me.

BuddyBigsby 09-17-2005 02:23 AM

Dur.

Special Brew 09-17-2005 02:57 AM

I was looking for more deathish metalcore, not actual death. ;)

I don't care for them, but maybe you'll like these guys. Basically just chugging metalcore with deeper vocals. Listen to Wrong Breed first.

So just because a group of people started liking them doesn't mean they all of sudden became a bad band. You should still like the band regardless of who likes them.

I didn't like them too much. Way too repetitive and boring. I like more aggression in my music. I hate the chugging parts, but the fatser parts were decent.

Dancin' Man 09-17-2005 12:55 PM

Deadwater Drowning is nuts. Definitely check them out.

Also, The End, Glass Casket, Ion Dissonance and Misery Index will probably make you happy. All are quite technical bands that are definitely core based, but with elements of death. All very technical and heavy.

Does Deadwater Drowning and The End have a Myspace? I can't find them, nor can I find stuff on Soulseek. I know and love Ion Dissonance and Glasscasket. I haven't looked into Misery Index yet.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 09-18-2005 01:21 AM

Glass Casket is awesome. About the bands you're looking for, search them on purevolume.

I doubt The End does, but they're not that great anyway.

Deadwater Drowning broke up before the rise of Myspace. They have an hxcmp3 page though.

Sorry but LOL. They are Technical Death Metal, how do they have any 'core' in them atall?

Also, All Shall Perish are alright, but the breakdowns are very annoying. Still pretty good for DM that came of America.

I searched the two that I said I couldn't find.
I have MI on SlSk.
What is your Soulseek name?

SubtleDagger 09-18-2005 11:22 AM

Glass Casket
Between The Buried And Me
The Red Chord
Ayat Akrass (Brazilian and a bit low-fi)
Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus
The Binary Code

A lot of old Converge seems to walk the deathcore line a bit too.

Special Brew 09-18-2005 11:38 AM

The Red Chord? I already love that band but I didn't think had much hardcore influence. I will check the others, unless I know them already. :p

LOL

None of these bands being discussed have 'core' in them in the first place with the possible exception of Suffokate. BTM fit in just dandy with the bands being discussed.

Most of the others I mentioned are on MySpace.

I don't see any similarities between Beneath The Massacre and the bands discussed in here.

Everyone keeps suggestion straigh up death bands and such. I haven't heard anyone suggest anything even close to the bands I mentioned in the first post. Except SD had a couple from what I've heard so far.
Most of the others I mentioned are on MySpace.
I don't know how to search bands on Myspace. :(

RCVA 09-19-2005 11:36 AM

Go to Music then search.

Special Brew 09-19-2005 12:28 PM

Hah, I'm dumb. I found it, thanks. I don't really use Myspace often. :p

.Realm.of.Chaos. 09-19-2005 01:36 PM

I listened to Despised Icon this weekend. They weren't bad I guess I didn't buy it partially because I only had 20 bucks so I bought Chimaira - Imposibility of Reason

Special Brew 09-19-2005 02:15 PM

Chimaira blow.

Despised Icon rule.

Well truly there aren't many bands that actually do mix death metal and hardcore, and there's even fewer good ones. So yeah the majority of suggestions you're going to get is basically death with breakdowns. I would consider BTM death, but I would also consider Despised Icon and All Shall Perish predominantly death, so whatever.

BuddyBigsby 09-19-2005 03:15 PM

and here's DWD
