If you read the News thread, you will know that Fenix*TX are playing a show on Friday, August 19 at Clubhouse, Arizona.
Well, you may not know that Homegrown is supporting. That's not really the important part though. You may not know that this CD will be recorded live and put out by this amazing band who called it quits in 2002. I suggest you go to it, they will no doubt be amazing. |
ive seen...
taking back sunday, hidden in plain view, simple plan, new found glory, incubus, the music, red hot chili peppers, mars volta, queens of the stone age. plan/want to see the spill canvas, brand new, etc etc |
In chronilogical order
Van Halen - Very very good. I thought the bass solo could have been cut from the show, because it was pretty much the bassist wanking on his bass. It was awesome for a reunion, I thought. Metallica - Not as good as I thought it would be. I think their setlist was very weak. They didn't play as many old songs as I wished they had. Not bad though. Less than Jake - So so so so awesome. They played every song I wish they played. They played a lot of old stuff, and it was so fun. Hidden in Plain View, Kane Hodder, and These Green Eyes played with them. I liked These Green Eyes the best. Kane Hodder sucked royally, and I'm not really into Hidden in Plain View, but they weren't bad. Lamb of God - Great great great. I don't really think anything bad happened (ie. crappy setlist, sound) and the crowd was crazy. I can't see Thrice later this fall, because of a marching band coommitment. I am very upset about that. |

When I saw them, they played only three songs from St. Anger, and the rest were older. It was an amazing show. The best non-pop-punk show I've seen. |

Well they played Turn the Page, Fuel, some songs off Load and Reload that I don't remember, and totally butchered Fade to Black by stopping halfway and yelling chants. They played a handful of good shows, and those were great. I just wasn't satisfied because of the amount of 1990+ songs. |
Oh. When I saw them they played a good variety of songs. They played one or two great songs from each album. It was the longest set I think I've ever seen too.
Godsmack opened, and they were pretty good also. |

EmoSreamoPunk - Yeah.. I stayed in our car in the parking lot until I heard Godsmack was done
Dragon Prince - I don't have a clue if they're going to tour again, let alone Europe. That would be cool though, I don't think it is likely :( |
w00t! I've just got back from a Green Day tribute band called Green Dayz (wow, what an oringinal name... haha) and I managed to nick the setlist and hug 'Billie Joe'. It was pretty kewl.
They played: American Idiot Longview Welcome To Paradise 86 Chump Geek Stink Breath Brain Stew Hitchin A Ride 2000 Lightyears Away Nice Guys Finish Last Warning Blvd. Of Broken Dreams St Jimmy Holiday Basket Case She When I Come Around WMUWSE Time Of Your Life Minority They weren't that bad, except the bass was out of tune most of the way through and he kept forgetting the words. Oh well, I had fun... |
That setlist is a million times better then the realy Green Days recent set.

Gah! Hardly any shows come here, except for at the Emerson (which I'm not allowed to go to. ) and the Fishers YMCA.
I think I'm seeing the Nintendo Fusion Tour in September and Against Me! in November. And my friend said Sloppy Seconds is coming here soon, but I don't know when or where. Edit: Lovedrug is reeeeeally good live. |
Does anyone know if Underoath are any good live? I might be seeing them at a small local venue.
|
Edit: Lovedrug is reeeeeally good live.
I've heard that from a lot of people, but I've never even heard their music. I'm kind of going to check them out more than anything, even though I haven't heard anything by them. |
Where the hell do you get the money for all of these concerts? I'm lucky if I get to 3 major ones a year. All I've gone to this year is 4 local shows, and the Warped Tour. I have Ska is Dead, and Converge lined-up. That's it. I've seen Blink-182(twice), Sum41, MCR, The Used, Taking Back Sunday(twice), The Casualties, Alexisonfire(twice), Anti-Flag, Dillinger Esc. Plan, Big D and the Kids Table, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Transplants, Thrice, Lost City Angels, Closet Monster, Dead Letter Dept., Hostage Life, Brat Attack, Bombs Over Providance, Offspring, Billly Talent(twice), Rise Against, A7X, The Kinison, Future's Past, The Casualties, Greenday, Sugarcult, New Found Glory, and Jersey. Most of those bands were viewed at festivals.
|
Haha, most of the shows on my list cost like $8-$10 dollars per ticket. The ones that are really expensive, such as when I went to Green Day, get paid for by my parents. So that's pretty nice.
