Could someone please explain the record collecting thing? I don't really understand how you could take any more pleasure in owning vinyl as opposse to cd's.
Cd's are usually pressed indefinitely. Alot of vinyl releases are limited pressings, colored vinyl, individually numbered, or have exclusive tracks which make them appeal to collectors like myself. There is just something more enjoyable about owning an oop (out-of-print) record than a cd.

dropkickstreetpunk 07-12-2005 08:39 PM

i should be getting my record player this weekend, i have 3 records.

_Tyler 07-12-2005 08:46 PM

I only have 8 LPs and 9 7"s

Aus Rotten 07-12-2005 09:23 PM
Nice Minutemen collection. Do you have the ballot that came with 3 way time? Cause if you do :naughty:

And is Nervous Breakdown the original one from '78?
To answer your question, yes and no. Yes to the Minutemen, and no to the black flag, it's a repressing. :upset:

Tell me what you want off my list for that clit 45 ep.

Nothing on your 'For Trade' list to be honest, sorry. :upset:

I can be tempted to trade anything of comparable value.

Vinyl is great. I've been collecting for over a year now and I have about 40 records. I should be putting them up on that record nerd thing soon.

Culture Shock 07-13-2005 03:55 PM

And here it is... http://www.recordnerd.com/lists/fishnotbombs/

I suppose everything is up for trade if offered, I just didn't feel like having different sections.

Excursions 07-13-2005 04:14 PM

The only record that made me piss my pants slightly in Toe Rags collection was the Seige - Drop Dead record, although I probably missed quite a few.

RudeBoyStompin 07-13-2005 04:21 PM

Vinyl is for nostalgic losers who can't face the fact that CDs are more efficient.

But seriously, vinyl is pretty cool. I have a few. Nothing crazy though.

If only that Skeptix Lp was the original pressing... :naughty:

Culture Shock 07-13-2005 08:59 PM

yeah, i never went out of my way to find one. i got that one from interpunk.

Culture Shock 07-13-2005 09:19 PM

oh yeah, should i even bother putting cds on this thing? seems a little pointless as it is 'record nerd' after all.

ye can if ye want, i dont though. i think it's pointless. just takes up space

Toe Rag 07-13-2005 10:40 PM

I put CDs cos some bands only have some releases on CDs and if I own the CD then why not. If I have a complete band discography, I want it to show. ^_^

Sid Ramone 07-13-2005 11:08 PM

alright here's my list:
http://www.recordnerd.com/lists/sidramone

as you can i see i have alot of AFI records from when i went through an AFI phase. I still listen to them surprisingly enough

TheNowhereman42 07-13-2005 11:31 PM

I have a fairly extensive collection, the two best ones being Op Ivy Ramones EP and a London Calling Origional Pressing. And I'm gonna buy alot more now scince I finally got my hands on my dad's record player.

I acctually just bought the newest Flogging Molly album and a Jurassic 5 EP from the Hot Topic in Northridge, I'm listening to FM right now.

EDIT: Just made an acount, but my big box of record is at my other house, so I've only got 10 or 15 on there right now.

Culture Shock 07-14-2005 12:05 AM

i guess i could put rare cds and other things worth mentioning on there

Feel The Darkness 07-21-2005 09:16 PM
 Slayer did a split with TSOL?
it's not really a split with new songs it's just a release with TSOL's old recordings of Abolish Government, Silent Majority, and Superficial Love, and than it has Slayer's versions of Abolish Government and Superficial Love from the Undisputed Attitude record they released with a bunch of Slayer-ified punk covers.

Scabies 07-22-2005 06:19 AM

That CD is so awesome.

Shtein 07-22-2005 07:18 AM
