There are three good locals bands I can think of, all of which are old school/thrash metal... Warbringer, Zombie, and Merciless Death.

Here is a band from PA thats going to blow you all away (i hope). They are called the Postman Syndrome. Sounds a lot like Tool with 3 guitarists and a bit of metalcore thrown in for good measure:

Its actually only me. lol I'm working on new stuff and should be up as soon as possible. My friend said he will do vocals so that will def be better. There's a nice band around here in the Bay Area called One Or Two Words.
|
There's a black sabbath obsessed asian band - www.larme.ca that I saw twice. They have long pink hair and wear mascara. In other words, damn good showmen, damn good show with decent originals.

I love whoring this band around to ppl. because they are that good (except for the singer)
We have a local band here in the Antelope Valley(lancaster, CA to be exact) called Warhead. They just won a major battle of the bands here and are in talks as far as getting signed go. They don't have a myspace account though. I've always wondered why. my band will be up and running pretty soon. I've started an AC/DC tribute band and I've just gotta flesh out a couple of member before we start rehearsals. I'm thinking of naming the band Big Balls. We should be ready to gig in a couple of months. |
Maybe they realized that myspace is an atrocious way to interface with other people. Congratulations to them for getting fans without it.
Seems like every band and their mother has one, it's debatable how useful it is. |
