Everybody just shut up. Who likes Isis? No, Subtle, shut up I know you. Who else?
That's kinda funny. I asked the same question a couple of challenges ago but no one bothered to answer because I'm a n00b and no one listens to me and I understand it and its okay  :p

I saw em live when they came to melb in feb. Awesome live band. There just one of those bands that don't need to have flying high solos or to jump around like kids with tantrums to impress insanely. Very talented band :thumb:

RunAmokRampant 06-30-2005 06:00 AM

oh yeh i also dig neurosis who are a bit similar to isis except darker and more foreboding. You should check them out to Dfelon if you haven't already. They're classed as doom metal and don't appeal to many audiences as sometimes they repeat riffs for like ages.

do you listen to clutch at all? i'm pretty sure neurosis have opened for them many times, but I may be wrong.

i'm getting tired of the word "noob". it's just something people say to feel better over a small PEN.IS(Down with profanity filter!)

No, that's the gay man's burden.

Oh wait, Pixies...............

Dancin' Man 07-01-2005 12:01 AM

Howdy folks. Been quite a while since I've been in here/done this. I hope to God I can beat at least one n00b.

You guys don't seem to really appreciate these noobs. After reading their posts I think I may understand why. And it makes me want to turn tail and run out of this sub-forum forever.

Dancin' Man 07-01-2005 12:24 AM

I win at knowing things about Isis and that 'genre' in general. I hear about a band that toured/played with one of the others I know and hunt them down, sometimes to find really crappy music. You should check out Aaron Turner's other band Old Man Gloom. Very cool stuff. Different (less atmosphere) but very good.

Dancin' Man 07-01-2005 11:03 AM

This is true...but it's all about having fun, right guys? Right?

JaveryAM 07-01-2005 12:17 PM

Ya know what i noticed? I noticed that alot of the posts in this challenge have a lot to do with religion, or something is mentioned that is semi- like it... the heavenly crush, my 'sloth' poem, and two others have mentionings of heavenly sins or noah or something...
I found it rather odd

Dancin' Man 07-01-2005 12:37 PM

My entire song is references to the last book in the bible as the title may suggest...

Religion is something that is very important and holds relevance to many other things and is so packed with useable metaphors that why not use it? Hell, I've never been to Church and am not religious but it's still interesting.

JaveryAM 07-01-2005 12:44 PM

i agree... but it was as if the challenge was themed

super deluxe 07-01-2005 01:51 PM

I have most of a song written, but will be going out of town for a while, so I don't know if I'll finish it in time.

Either way, I'll be lounging poolside being attended by cabana boys and drinking things with little umbrellas in them.

Or not.

SubtleDagger 07-02-2005 11:42 AM
Wait I wasn't done with my song it still sucks.
I'm not seeing how editing it will change things LOL!
Yay for being back on topic!
Yay for thinking we need a topic!

Dancin' Man 07-02-2005 03:56 PM

I wonder how many posts there would be if every replies thread was combined.

/calculates

/gives up

/guesses somewhere around 13500 if the average # of posts for each reply thread has been 150. I don't know if the challenges before 49 were reply thread'd because that's when I showed up.

RunAmokRampant 07-02-2005 08:27 PM

sh*t i didn't finish some editing. oh well

Dancin' Man 07-02-2005 10:20 PM
Man. Remember that one I made that got 650. That ruled.
I actually remember if not that one, a similar one that got just about that high. It was such a terrible spamfest. I remember being disappointed because the next one wasn't nearly so large.

Time to finish voting. I leave in the morning.

machinegunfunk 07-03-2005 12:54 AM

to dancin' man

if you cannot stand political poetry or music, here's a tip. take a shotgun, load both barrels, put it in your mouth, and blow your ****ing head off. "i only want my music to talk about superficial things, like puppy dogs." gimptard. you can't say something is well-written then dump on it just because you don't like the subject matter.

Shut up. It's his opinion, if you don't like it, tough.

Powderfinger Rocks 07-03-2005 04:21 AM

Subtle, you're not a very nice mod.
What is this thread supposed to do? All i've read is bickering and moaning, sorry.

lol. dude respect is needed here. Some people such as myself find that music and politics don't belong together at all. It is a valid statement from dancin' man and you should get over it like every else does when someone doesn't like their own poetry
