Worked like a charm, they're all up.

Maybe you can start a new thread with the link in and get a mod to sticky it...you can talk about each lesson.

backsidetailslide 06-16-2005 05:54 PM

wow nice vids! im gonna learn to double thumb now :thumb:

Spaceman Spiff 06-16-2005 06:10 PM

The instructional video was cool, as was the application.

Though I know how to, I'm not very good at it, getting better though. :thumb:

on the last video (triad inversions) I need it to make sure it says chromatic approach notes some where in there

Spaceman Spiff 06-16-2005 06:14 PM

Quatre, I've got a question for you.

When you're playing stuff on your 6 that is normally played on a 4, do you just ignore the B and C strings or do you ever rework the fingering to be able to use them all?
I always just ignore them.

Chameleon 06-16-2005 06:14 PM

sorted

i dont think of fingerings, i think of notes, if there is a big jump i'll avoid it my simpily grabbing it on another string

HumanHiFi 06-16-2005 06:31 PM

thanks alot to all participating heh. I've never had proper bass lessons and this is as close as im likely to get anytime soon. also, anyone got a channel on IRC? if not, one should be started up for all this kinda stuff! It'd be insanely useful.

JamesXKillXyou 06-16-2005 07:24 PM

this is great! quatre you are my love. i enjoyed the thump lessons alot trying to work on my speed a bit... anyways

anyone do a bit of tapping and have a lesson on that im all about the videos so much easier then words =) :thumb:

AA-12 06-16-2005 07:37 PM

I have a quick question. With double thump, do you slap and pop with the thumb, or do you just pluck the string basically?

Left Shoe 06-16-2005 07:43 PM

very good vids

its an upstroke with your thumb

Left Shoe 06-16-2005 07:53 PM

for those of you looking for a nice easy song to incorporate the double thumb and double pop in check out this song
http://www.powertabs.net/pta.php?page=song,12074

i know you kids dont like emo, but its a midi so the angst doesnt carry through, the bass line is easily double thumbed.

Bass_guy333 06-16-2005 09:04 PM

I'll post a wank-core double-popping video in a minute, I'm just gonna record it. Awesome videos quatre.

I have a double-popping lesson in the Lessons Archive with in-depth step by step technique and examples for anyone who wants to check it out.

jameschez 06-17-2005 06:16 AM

Ive seen the videos (which where great!) but im still confused. It sounded diffrent to normal slap but i couldnt see why! What is it that you do diffrently?!...

blizzard 06-17-2005 08:00 AM

I really like the videos but I also think it would be handy if you could make some kind of document to go with each one, explaining what your doing again and tabbing out what you actually played in the video

Phalanx 06-17-2005 09:10 AM

cmon Quatre, if we're gonna see your face we gonna need some smiles

Left Shoe 06-17-2005 09:35 AM
