Just work your way backwords. Cruelty and the Beast, Dusk and Her Embrace (Their best album IMO), and Principle of Evil Made Flesh in that order. Just a warning though, they get less accessible (crazier screaming, etc.) the further back you go.

Amazing band, people who say otherwise (in my experiences) just haven't actually listened to them enough to enjoy them. But their new stuff is very sub-par, except the Mr. Crowley Cover, which I think is pretty good.

Listening to these guys again, ahh its been a while, they know how to write a song, they remind me of My Dying Bride, check them out if you like Cradle of Filth :thumb:..im sure alot of people have already but i thought i'd just say.

I didnt really get into ****ation and a Day, maybe i didnt give it enough listens..but meh it didnt do anything for me..from the looks of it, Midian has better songs, like Cthulhu dawn, Her ghost in the fog, but its upto you.

I'd go with Midian, but ****ation is cool. So Midian or whatever is cheaper.

I love COF I don't really find Dani's voice annoying, I find it rather humorous. But yeah, my favorite cd is of course Midian, then closely followed by Nymphetamine and Cruelty and the Beast (you gotta love that CD).

The only reason I really didn't like The principle of evil made flesh was because the recording wasn't good at all. But the improved versions for Bitter Suites to Succubi were amazing, especially the solo for TPOEMF, I scroll back on it to listen to it time and time again.

****ation and A Day and Dusk and her embrace were alright and they do have a bunch of track that stand out on both cds (Funeral In Carpanthia, The Smoke of her Burning, etc) IMO they are good but not as good as Midian or the other Cds.

I think I might give these guys one more try...

It took me a very long while to get into these guys. And by a very long while, I mean about a year. Now I can stand them. It's just that Nick Barker is my favorite drummer and they keyboard player is really awesome.

What have you heard and what are you into?

I listened to samples of tracks 1 and 2 off Midian.

I'm into [i]everything[/i] Metal, and most rock.

I would recommend pursuing that, Her Ghost in the Fog, Tearing the Veil from Grace, and Tortured Soul Asylum are good songs from that album.

I like Cradle Of Filth alot, and frankly I don't care what any one says about them. Dani is an amazing vocalist and he also writes great lyrics, and Paul is an excellent guitarist as well.

Also Midian > Da[SIZE=2]mnation[/SIZE] and a Day by far

Some of those songs are okay, I'll get used to it I guess.

I hear over and over about CoF selling out. Not saying it's true, but when did this so called selling out happen? Watching the Nymphetmine video, and then listening to these other songs seems like a big jump to me.

There definately skilled but unless you listen to black metal its not really going to appeal to you

I like Cradle of filth. I think they have good amount of talent in the band. The drummer is good, the two guitarists blend/work together well, the keyboards are good, and Dani Filth is an amazing song writer/lyricist and his vocal range is impressive.

The only reason i think why most people dont like them is because of Dani's voice which is not very appealing and not enjoyable to other listeners.

Nymphetamine was probably one of their most mainstream songs IMO. It seemed rather accessible to many people.

The extended one, though, i like a lot. Its got the edge, then goes into the single part, then brings the edge back again. I like how Cradle can diversify their music a lot throughout songs.

I love this band... im not so much a fan of their latest efforts, but I dig everything from Midian backwards. Cruelty and the Beast.. perfect album!

Your name, Lord Abortion, is such an awesome song! I just got Midian today and that is my favorite song off of this album by far.

great band, their guitarist have some pretty amazing riffs, and their drummer is crazy. i saw them live in november, wow great live shows, very well set up. i personally love dani's voice, both high and low, and his lyrics are just incredible. he's actually a very intelligent person, which many people wouldn't see because of his image. i could see why someone wouldn't like his voice though it's a hit or miss thing, and i personally like it. the one thing i really dont like about the band is all the posers have found their way into liking cradle of filth. this kid at my school got a cof shirt because he thought the green serpent looked cool. he doesn't even have a cd or know anything about them, and can't name any songs, let alone his favorite. i just hate that.

oh yeah also, dani's more recent voice i think is a lot better, less shrill and harsh. on their older stuff, you could NOT understand him at all, even while looking at the lyrics hahah, but the newer stuff he has kind of toned it down. inhale screams are insane
