I love yamaha's
I hate to be the a$shole that tells you that it specifically says in the rules and regulations -that you should have read when you joined- that posts that have no relevance to the thread should not be posted. Again sorry to be the one to point this out. But hey, welcome all the same. |
I can't give you exact measurements, as I physically can't because of my wrist but I can tell you that the string spacing is in my mind perfect. IT's tight enough that it doesn't take a half hour to reach the next string but there's still enough space to slap and double thump without hitting multiple strings at once, not that I can DT but I've let someone have a shot of my bass who could and he thought it was great. In fact he thought it was so great that he's saving up for a 5 string version, because he says he won't use the high C, but the string spacing is much the same.
Thanks.... a lot:) Very helpful.:thumb: |
I dig the bass, I only wish the top wood was flamed maple instead of quilted maple.
Other than that, it's the 6-stringer I would buy, if I liked 6-stringers. |
Does anyone know how this bass compares to the one it replaced? I really want to explore 6 strings and plan to buy one in June/July. Ive read online that this one is of lower quality then the TRBII. Anyone know if its a valid statement?

yeah i think the TRB1006 is just a bolt-on version of the TRBII.
|
Aside from Ebay, is there any place that still sells the TRBII?

The only bass in my opinion which beats the TRB1006 in the price range and me being the proud owner of one |
Phalanx, do you know of any American websites? Also, arent both models bolt ons? Thanks for the help.

Both are bolt-on but I think the TRB6II was available in thru-neck whereas the TRB1006 is only bolt-on. I repeat I think this |

I repeat I think this
i haven't seen a TRB6II with bolt-on, the TRB6PIIs are neck through however |

I'm not entirely sure of the top of my head but if I remember correctly, different woods, different electronics, and it has wider string spacing. So i guess it depends on what you look for in a bass which you find is better. However I do think the TRB100x's were supposed to be a LITTLE bit more budget friendly than the TRBxII's

As far as I know the biggest difference are the type of woods and countries they're made in. The electronics are the same I think. The string-spacing seemed to be equal last time I checked. |
